First off , i would like to say that it's been really nice the last few months just having a place to go where i can talk about the things i love and have people know what i was talking about. That's been a plus! It also helps that everybody here is incredibly friendly and passionate.

A stand out moment for me was the Basco Vs Captain Marvelous final fight. I will still preach to this day to anybody that will listen that it was the most bad ass fight scene that i have seen.

This year has been a snowball effect where Gokaiger led me to OOO through the superhero time openings. Which led to Fourze , Den-O , Shinkenger , W etc...

When discussing my love for toku with a friend , he said to me that i have never heard you this passionate about anything before. It was kinda nice.

i will have to say my best toku moment would be fourze and learning why it was light hard season that was. also i say my own toku moment as in me would been refinding my love for toku with in this site it has been a nice moment that i would continue coming here and well as showing off my thing on here. but my big show moment would be Garo and the twist of the story it had in makai saiki a awsome show to a great cast aand thats my great things.

My favorite moment is when some posted pictures of SH MonsterArts Destoroyah and some of his stages and also Peter Jackson's King Kong (in which I don't know it's being produced or not, but it was impressive) were shown at a convention...god I dig this line. So even though this was small it was my favorite moment here.

Mine probably won't be as long-winded as others, because I'm mostly a lurker here. But this year was really the first year I got into Toku, besides the American variations. It's some of the most gripping tv I'v ever watched. I wish it was more available to the US.

ANYWAY, I hope in 2013 to post on here some more, and maybe even make friends with some of you? That'd be cool, even if I'm a Toku noob.

Oh, also, my saddest moment would have to be finding out that there seems to be nobody else from Massachusetts who cares about Toku on here. ;_;

Love the site. I was a constant reader of the Power Rangers thread over at Tfw from the very beginning. I really hope the place gets to be as big as TFW. Here's to many more years guys!

Favorite toku moment? Well, I liked all of the OOO and Gokaiger I've seen but mostly those moments are not from 2012. Here's a standout:

My favorite moment for the past year. It would probably got to Megamax. That movie was just so much fun to watch and enjoy, and to see almost the first three Kamen Rider shows for me cross over was just awesome, and to really see the Legendary Seven in action more then what I got to see before really makes me want to see there stories. That film just couldn't be any better for me.

Top thing for toku in my opinion is the Figuarts love to not only Ryuki, but to the Shows era Riders. It shows that the older fans are still active and that the market still acknowledges them. Not to mention Red Hawk and The Megazord.
Also Fourzes writing team was amazing. It is cool to see a team finish what the started. It kept a show that could have been just crazy under control. It was tight story telling with great characterization.
Good toys and good storytelling. Great 2012.

My favorite toku moment was when i finally got to watch the OOO/Fourze Megamax in TV-Nihon subs. I felt that it was an awesome movie.

That first Wizard henshin. I got a feeling no new rider has given me in some time. Usually I dislike a rider and they win me over. Wizard had me from day one.

Oh yeah, another Non-Toku moment (that can also be a bit conceded :lol) was the fact that my birthday was celebrated 5 days after the site first opened to the public (site was first opened to everybody on January 5th, my bday is January 10th) and the fact that my parents got me the OOO driver for my birthday ^_^

My favorite moment of toku this year was the end of Gokaiger, it was (at least to me) fantastic

AkibaRed being so deluded that he was able to transform in the real world. I realize this was sort of overturned later with the way the series went*, but I really liked the surprisingly emotional and serious moment in an otherwise wacky show.

Also? Pretty much the entirety of Gokaiger vs. Gavan. So good.

*Not saying that was bad or wrong; I loved Akibaranger in a year where I wasn't very keen on the real sentai.

My favorite moment was the first second that Gokaiger did their Gokai-Change, but then when Akiba-Red believed in his fantasy so much that he henshined in real life, that had me cheering!

My favourite moment was the Kamen Rider Fourze graduation scene. I found Gentarou fighting Sagittarius to be really cool.

My favorite Toku moment was the epic finale to Gokaiger! It was a truly happy/sad moment :)

My favorite moments was the end of both Gokaiger and Fourze because I have watched, followed, and enjoyed every moment to the point where I was sad when they both ended. Also, a fitting tribute song which I have a copy of was played in the final episode of Fourze for the now deceased Neil Armstrong which was nice but sad considering he died on that Saturday. Now, I'm just following Wizard episode by episode and so far, haven't been disappointed as of yet.

I think just finding this site was my favorite toku moment, but if I have to pick a moment not tied to the site, it would have to be a tie between Fourze's final battle with Virgo before learning about his true goals and Akibaranger's entire first episode, where they kept waiting for the monster to grow before heading home.

But Wizard's music is a highlight too. Strength of the Earth and Mystic Liquid are now part of my toku music favs.

I'm not sure what 2013 will bring, but I await it with dignity.

My favorite moment were the Fourze/Gobusters detective web movies. Those were the perfect combination of funny and informative.

If that doesn't count, gotta say my favorite moment is towards the end of Akibarangers where Akagi grabs the scrolling giveaway text. Genius.

I'm gonna have to say the Fourze ending. Great series and the ending was good, especially liked that they went with the original limit break (rocket & drill) to finish off Sagittarius.

My favorite moment was discovering this site because it connected me to the tokusatsu community and all of the fansubs out there. This year I've gone from a Godzilla fan with a casual interest in Power Rangers etc. to a full blown Sentai fanatic. Thanks folks.

(My other favorite moment was Gokaiger vs Gavan. Gavan rules.)

I was really excited to hear the great news that GoKaiger will be adapted into the Power Rangers Mega Force story ala Dairanger and Kakuranger adapted for seasons 2 and 3 of MMPR. It'll have that nostalgic feeling of "Rangers piloting mecha that don't match their suits"...

Plus it gets me one step closer to owning this guy:

when i found out about mandrake from this board and was able to get so many sentai zords so cheap :)

My biggest moment was that as a lifelong power rangers fan, this was my first year ever watching sentai thanks to Gokaiger. I fell in love with the genre and watched all of Jetman, Zyuranger, and am starting to look into where to start in Kamen Rider

Fourze. Just all of it from beginning to end. Cosmic states debut was possibly the highlight though. With the giant flame sword, the epic form change jingle and the incredible switch name opera... never have I been so excited to see a final form debut.

It's just been a good year in general though, and it's nice to have such a welcoming online community to talk Toku with.

So heres to many more years of Tokunation, Figuarts and giant plastic robots =)

The Year in Review
 

I am so glad that Tokunation was formed. This site began about the same time that I was transitioning from Transformer collecting to Toku. Since then I have had the joy of engaging in incredibly interesting conversations, read up on awesome Toku news and have even made a pretty dime by selling some of my collection to the awesome members of this board. It has been a great year and I can only imagine what we have in store for the future.

As far as Toku is concerned, this year was great (at least as Kamen Rider is concerned). I loved how Fourze ended on a high note and I have loved every minute of Wizard so far. Gobusters started strong but ended up losing my interest. I've yet to finish Gokaiger (but I will...one day). I'm excited about the rest of Wizard and hope the next Sentai series shakes the unfortunate downward trend that Gobusters has been experiencing.

I hope everyone has a great holiday and I look forward to getting to know each of you more!

Favorite moment? That's tricky. I stopped watching Gokaiger because I was kinda meh on it. And I stopped watching GoBusters because I am lazy and was meh on it.

I didn't mean to stop watching Fourze, but I still ended up getting super behind, and haven't watched one in months. I was enjoying it though, I thought Scorpion was awesome, and was curious to see what happened with Meteor, but that first episode he was in was the last I saw. I haven't even attempted to start Wizard yet. I should though.

But I did finish OOO with my wife at the beginning of the year, then we watched Kiva and Den-O, and if that's not the best Toku thing that happened to me this year, then I don't know what is.

Oh, there was also that moment where I decided to do a joint Mandarake order with Den-O. That was either the greatest thing that happened this year, or the worst, because I can't even add up all the money I've blown on those joint orders.

Ha! I can't even fathom how much money I've spent since you and I started this little arrangement. And hey I did tell you I was an evil evil bastard :lol

Me too as well, I just didn,t know how to put it.

I just got re-introduced to my childhood look of power rangers so I naturally wanted to dive into the original toku source. Unfortunately my OCD brain would let me gokaiger because of how much I've missed over the years and all the references I wouldn't get.

I did a little bit of fourze, gokaiger, and gobuster and my favorite moment was when I realize how much better effects, and graphic have gotten over the years. I was shocked by the production and I knew that catching up was going to be a blast.

My favorite moment of toku for the year would have to be the Final episode from Gokaiger. It waqs an amazing ending to an amazing show and though I was sad to see it go that didn't stop me from enjoying the episode. Honorable mentions go to Akibaranger and The Hero Yoshihiko and the Demon King's Castle, both shows that had me laughing my ass of consistently.

Best part of that episode? Joe as Dekamaster using Doc as Zubaan. Greatest team-up ever.

Gokaiger definitely tops the top for me. My 2 boys and I watched every episode and it opened our eyes to the realm of Tokusatsu vs Saban/Disney. This is why I think Gokaiger will be my favorite sentai series ever.
