With all the supposed revamping the series is receiving, it wouldn't be a stretch to assume their reintroduction as significant plot threads would only be as an afterthought, which leads to sloppy handling. |
As long as Yokos dad is Jin Im happy. Or perhaps the last bit of her fathers soul was programmed into J!? Both awesome possibilities.

It's failed because it is just down right boring. In fact, I stopped caring after episode 30. The entire Messiah battle was utter crap and bland. Then they give the show a brand new opening that is horrible sounding and does not fit the show at all. The Buddyroids are the most useless pieces of ****. The weaknesses of the rangers are complete nonsense (if I see a chicken, I freeze, so all Enter had to do was send in a chicken monster). The characters have no personalities and half the cast is useless.

what they should of done was have messiah die before the hole card arc and introduced a new baddie when they tryed to revamp this show would have been great if it had one of though new villian plots in it.

i think the bottom line is that kids didnt find this series fun, unlike wizard it's a fun show because it brings excitment with new rings, something to look forward to. with gobusters, there's no excitment with the series with new things every episode or every other, it was same thing over and over again, with nothing to look forward to, i guess the characters are part of this too, bandai is also to blame with some of their toy releases, powered custom brace, gobuster beet etc.

But who knows, as the show is coming to an end, I might get a bug up my ass and decide to finish it. It wouldn't be the first time I have done that. |

I gave up on this show after episode 6 - not really because it ended up being boring, but because Arisa Komiya is a piss-poor actress. Classic example is on episode 5, when Ryuji overheats and goes out of control, turning Yoko into a really bad crybaby. I stuck around to see what Go-Buster Oh looked like and skipped the series until Beet & Stag debuted, then I called it quits for good.

Mark my words, this will be the show the rest of you end up re-watching after deciding to hate it then seeing how cool it really is. I felt this way about Blade and I kind of feel that way as I struggle through what few episodes of Abaranger I can get my hands on.
Though I don't follow the show closely (I'm not a Sentai person) I felt that the organic look of the costumes and the techno-spy gimmick was rather inspired. It really made it feel apart from the legions of Sentai teams that came before it. I might marathon it once its over to give a fairer analysis but aside from the show failing to churn out merchandise money, it seems to be an ok series. |
The shows biggest problem is that it never decided what the Go-Busters really were. It couldn't decide if they were spies or not. The spy angle gets used 2 or possibly 3 signifcant times and that's it. The rest of the show they're completely reactive to whatever the bad guys do. The spy angle never comes back into play.
Now mark my words. I went in to this show with incredibly low expectations. Gokaiger set the bar too high for this show to follow up well. And so after 2 or 3 episodes I was already immensely disappointed. Add to this the fact that the first half of the series is incredibly boring and I created a self-fulfilling prophecy that I would hate this show. But that second half pulled a major turn around that's worth watching at least once. I ate my words once this show finally gained steam. I just don't think Toei was ever able to figure out where they wanted to go with the series until really late into it. I won't defend it as the greatest sentai ever. It will inevitably go down as the worst. But I think the case can be made that there are still plenty of things to enjoy. |
Failed is such a harsh word.Did poorly, yes.Failed, not at all.I can give you 3 letters that I think fit perfectly with fail....RPM.

I'm with you on this. I think Enter is actually one of the few (semi)-threatening villains in Sentai. Sure, he can be foolish because Sentai villains are never allowed to actually sniff victory, but he seems distant and calculating, which in-turn makes him a threat. And as Den-O restated, the lack of spying in this "spy" sentai is incredibly frustrating. Covert ops and spying would have been a neat take on Sentai, but they just didn't use it. |
If only they had kept with the theme/tone they set up in Ep3 (the hospital one)

I pretty much went from "Meh" to "FF Hater" after being forced to play X.
So my opinion of FF is almost always negative nowadays :lol |
I loved hpw the megazord battles vaired from episode to episode, instead of "we kill the MOTW and then he grows, now lets get the mechs" formela. Also I love J.

Personally I really enjoyed Go-Busters and while Shinkenger and Gokaiger were excellent shows I think Go-Busters is on par with Go-Onger or Goseiger. As far as ratings slumping due to Kamen Rider, IDK. Personally Fourze was uninteresting and Wizard to me is just bland. Nothing tops W or OOO's.

Meanwhile, I'm over here in the corner not giving a crap about design, flash, and flare and hoping that Kyoryu just tells a good story.

I thought that GoBusters was ok. I mean, its an unusual sentai. I do dig the suits since they are leather instead of the spandex. Dont get me wrong, I love the spandex suits, but, change is good every once and a while. The buddyroids each have their own personality. Usada is my favorite. The mecha battles were nice. Not too fast paced, but, not draged out. Just right. The one thing I wasnt really fond of were the mecha. They looked ok, but, the design wasnt easy on the eye. Also, I loved that they kept the mecha in a hanger. It reminded me of the Godzilla movies. The series does feel like Power Rangers RPM.

"A new mech appeared in Gobusters!" "Cool!" *Googles it instead of watching the episode* A series needs something to keep viewers coming back. And things like interesting suits and mecha wear thin after so many episodes. |
