I just heard that the Tamashii page about the stand states that the stands come with their respective figuarts, so Den-O stand with Liner Form, etc... maybe AmiAmi screwed it up.

Well that's the thing - it can't be a money grab because you can only buy one. Not one of each - one Flame Dragon period.

I know you can only get one of each. What I'm saying is they're hoping to sell the shit out of Flame Dragon and Winger. And this is a really good way to do it.
Considering I have no previous pre-order experience with Amiami, should I need to cancel my preorder for some reason, can I do that? |
No, you CAN'T buy one of each. You can only buy 1 out of 5. Period. It's the bit I quoted from the order page. So they won't sell any more than they would normally.
if anything they'll sell less of the reissues because they're not coming with the stands. And canceling a preorder at AmiAmi is iffy. If you do it long before the item comes out, they may not care. Though they may give you a hard time(you have to email them and ask them to cancel it, you can't do it yourself). You basically have to ask really nicely, with a lot of Japanese style self-effacement. |
Nice, gonna have to try and grab these. I'm sure somewhere will eventually have them separately.

I assume this promotion is like some of the others Bandai has had for Figuarts with freebies that aren't pack-ins. Namely, the freebies are intended to be distributed a certain way (AmiAmi's way blows the reveal that Blade's likely getting a May preorder) but stores don't have to do it. This is how HLJ tossed Decade card stands in with any random Kamen Rider thing ordered in a certain period instead of just Figuarts like the other stores.
In this case, AmiAmi is reducing the risk of ordering a bunch of potential poor sellers like Flame Dragon or Machine Winger, obvious clearance fodder otherwise, by pairing every single free stand with them. It doesn't matter if almost nobody orders some of the reissues because now they can make more money off the sales of newer, more expensive figures and force the people that need a complete Heisei Rider with anniversary stand to buy BOTH. Under-ordering the reissues isn't going to be a big deal. It's still a gamble, but a calculated one. It would be optimal to the plan if AmiAmi did let people order multiples, but I think the usual order limits to Figuarts bites them in the ass there, forcing them to instill limits or a select few will hoard everything. |
Everything is up right now. GO GO GO people!
Edit: I DIDN'T EVEN GET TO COMPLETE MY ORDER BEFORE FLAME DRAGON WAS SOLD OUT. Seriously fuck Amiami. I am never wasting my time with this stupid mess again. |
Got X and Kabuto.
If you missed out on the Flame Dragon you want, keep checking for a couple hours(or alternatively use figinstock.com), they always reopen figuarts preorders a bunch of times. |
Wow, but I kinda saw that coming. The only one I'm watching but haven't bought, the Agito Flame Dragon, is still in-stock.
I really do want that stand, but not enough to preorder a figure I care nothing about. Now, if someone wanted to secure the Flame Dragon from me... then maybe. EDIT: There we go, Agito-Dragon sold out. |
Yeah. I've long since stopped bothering trying to pre-order from Amiami.
So what, other sites will have them for 500 yen more. At least they're not sold out within the first second. I'll just wait for Figuart Blade and pray he comes with some kind of stand (Hell, his signature attack, Lightning Blast, requires him to stick the sword into the ground, so I hope there's something a la Fourze's cracked ground accessory to accommodate it). |
Yeah it's questionable whether it's worth preordering from AmiAmi. They have the best prices but their shipping is pretty expensive and they're dicks about cancelling items. HLJ has higher prices but cheaper shipping, but you can cancel any time, though they don't always get what you order in stock for whatever reason. HobbySearch has higher prices and really expensive shipping(for EMS) and seem to never get restocks.
The only consistently good stores are Mandarake and Jungle, and they're both secondhand stores so you can't preorder. if Amazon.jp ever starts shipping toys to the US the other stores are in big trouble. |
I prefer HLJ, personally. Much less grief, their pre-orders don't sell out within the first nanosecond, and they just seem to have a larger stock than other sites. Their prices aren't always the lowest, but when Amiami has a preorder for 2900 yen and HLJ has it up for 3200, the shipping will pretty much make the price difference nebulous.
And they all beat BBTS. |
I prefer HLJ too but I only preorder model kits from them.
BTW HobbySearch has the figures up: http://www.1999.co.jp/search_e.asp?T...y=S.H.Figuarts |
COPY, PLEASE
and ended up with many Flame Dragons and bikes. :D |
I'll take my luck with my usual dumpster dive at Mandarake for these stands before I ever waste time with Amiami again. Eventually I can find anything I want on there and these are no different.

these look cool, but id prefer some kind of stand that can display multiple rider forms
|
Everything's back up at AmiAmi(check the date of this post and if it's much later when you're reading this, you're probably out of luck).
|
I was just about to post, got X and Flame Dragon
|
Just got my self a liner form. Everything else still seemed available too =)
I think I'll just hit up Mandarake for the stages, there nice and all but I don't want a flame dragon to get them =p |
That's pretty lame on AmiAmi's part. And frankly I think AmiAmi is pretty lame to begin with, so that is saying something coming from me.
The stands themselves are neat. I like he "spoiler" aspect of some of the ones included. I am like Matrixbeast in that I would most likely buy a Blade Figuart. But I am not going to jump through hoops to get a stand when I would can either 1) post him on a shelf anyway or b) make my own stand I want some super dramatic pose. My father and brother make stands for model kits that don't have bases all the time. No harder to do it with an action figure. Heck I'd rather get some sort of diorama base than just a stand, especially if I am going to have to jump through hoops to get it. |
Go to bed and you wake up to all hell breaking loose over stands!!! What the hell!
These are nice , but not worth the trouble. I would have been more excited if their was a Kiva or Hibiki stand. Atleast it would be a sign of hope that they were on the way |

I wake and I see the usual AmiAmi pre-order angst. Makes me glad I take most of my Bandai business to HobbySearch/Amazon if Bluefin is importing these days.

I would buy them all if they were released as a set, or several sets.
But if they're only going to be available as pack-ins with other figrues then Kiva, Den-O, and W would be the top priorities, followed by Kuuga and OOO. So I'll likely go the Mandarake route too. |
Screw that, I'm making my own.
|
Man I do not want to get Wizard's bike just for the Ryuki stand!
