Blade is definitely near the top of my list of shows to watch, along with Agito and Black, partly because of all the good stuff I've heard about it.

Blade is one of those shows that a lot of people like but that still doesn't get a ton of fanfare all over the place like Agito, W, or OOO.

First: Fourze. Though OOO put "bits of Blade and Hibiki" so technically it would be bits of Decade, Double and OOO as my first, but I consider Fourze to be my first...so yeah.
Favorite: Den-O
Least Favorite: I don't have one as of yet.

Well this seems as good a thread to make my first post in as any.

My first series was Decade. I saw the final fight of All Riders on youtube and was hooked. I'm a sucker for crossovers.

Favourite series: also Decade. Tsukasa is such an entertaining troll while still being a good guy at heart. Also see above re: crossovers.

Least Favourite (That I have watched a decent portion of): Kabuto. So many good points over shadowed by the writers shilling the massively unlikeable dick of a main character.

Shows that have failed my four-episode test (If a show doesn't catch my interest within the first month's worth of episodes, I stop watching): Kuuga and Blade

Those statements are contradictory.

Tsukasa is not a good guy at heart. Having rewatched the series earlier this month, I can confirm my statement. He seriously did nothing on his own volition that was "Good", and had to literally be dragged and yelled into helping out the characters.
In Blade world, if Yuusuke wasn't present, then Blade would've quit being Blade and left BOARD all because of Tsukasa's taunting.

I can understand disliking Tendou, but he ACTUALLY had a heart of gold, and saying he's an unlikable dick directly after calling Tsukasa a good character is just ignorant.

Yeah, it's kind of weird to see someone love Tsukasa but hate Tendou, given how much the former was a rehash of the latter.

Haven't watched Decade yet so that is a debate I still cannot properly take part in.

Seeing some real mixed opinions on Blade. That's one of the shows that has me a bit interested, really like the concept and as a poker player I kinda like the use of cards and suites.

Pretty much. I know nothing Matrix says is gong to change my mind, and I'm fairly certain nothing I say will change his. So there's no point in working up bad blood over it.

That's not actually the case. I always keep an open mind because my viewpoint on certain things can change.
No one has ever given me an actual counter argument concerning Decade (And if they have, it was far too weak to hold up), so I've never been able to see the series in an alternate light.

It's a bigger waste to just turn a blind eye to alternating opinions just because you like or dislike something. No one grows or learns doing that, and everyone loses because of it.

Like I said, I read your Decade thread. Unless you've got some big 'reason Decade sucks' bomb that you never dropped there, I know for a fact that your arguments on the matter have not changed my mind. And as for my arguments changing your mind, you saw Tsukasa almost die to save Shouichi, give up some of his life force to save Natsumi, and a bunch of similar incidents and the declared that he had never done anything good of his own volition. I'm sure you can come up with rationalizations that turn those into selfish acts, but I saw a guy who may not have been a natural hero, but was trying anyways.

Tsukasa was told in the first episode that he was supposed to be killing all the AU riders, but instead chose to try and solve their problems while trying to find a non-murderous solution. That sounds pretty heroic to me.

I don't need rationalizations or word twisting. I take the series as presented and come up with my statements.

For what it's worth, I agree with you. Tsukasa, while probably trolling, didn't kill any of the AU Riders like he was told to, and instead felt that something else was guiding him, a purpose. And he followed the purpose.

And while I liked Tendou for his dickery, Tendou also was so full of himself he made up a grandma he never had. That's right, I said it: his grandma never existed.

But, I do like Tendou though. I just don't like Kabuto's Deus Ex Machina at the end of the series. Decade was full of them, so the surprise each week was which Deus Ex Machina he was going to pull out of his (or Yuusuke's) ass.

Spoilers shouldn't have a statute of limitations. Especially with a franchise that has spanned decades and has as many entries and variations as this. New fans come in all the time from all different series (as this thread has shown), why risk ruining it for them when it takes absolutely no real effort to just post a spoiler tag? It's incredibly selfish to not. I had a pretty major moment in Fourze spoiled for me just browsing, and I definitely felt it took away from the series as I was anticipating it the entire time.

That's ludicrous. You're saying all discussion has to take place in spoiler tags, just because somebody might decide to watch an old series where information on it is readily available anywhere?

When it comes to watching old shows, that's the risk you run. I understand and can sympathise with not wanting to be spoiled. Double's ending was spoiled for me. But you have to be reasonable. We can't avoid spoilers and cover our posts in tags just on the off chance that someone may be watching the show we're talking about and hasn't gotten to that part yet.

I see nothing wrong with a bit of common courtesy. I'm not saying any and every bit of information about a series needs to be put in tags, but you can't just go saying something like (spoilers for Fourze) Meteor kills Fourze or (spoilers for W) Phillip dies at the end out in the open like I've seen done before. And obviously if it is in a thread calling for spoilers, or in an episode specific thread then people reading those without having seen whatever relevant episode or series or whatever are taking that risk knowingly. But clicking on some sort of general discussion thread and seeing huge reveals or events is pretty crummy and unnecessary. Have some respect for other people in the fandom, especially if they're new.

I get what you're saying, but still, you can't expect the world to bubble wrap the corners of all the tables in the world. Now if it's a thread like the what are you watching, I can undertsand not putting spoilers there since, well, it's obvious. And major, end of show stuff I agree with, but mid-series stuff that's not even an actual spoiler? Hell, if someone goes into a thread and sees a picture of Birth is that a spoiler because they haven't gotten to the Birth episodes in OOOs?

I mena, the reason this even started was because a guy joked Tendou's grandma never existed because you never see Kabuto's grandmother in the show. A spoiler that wasn't even real. A spoiler can be anything. You can't expect people to tag literally everything they say.

Well, I thought I was pretty careful. What I posted wasn't really a spoiler anyway. As for the selfish thing, well... I didn't know there were spoiler tags on this forum.

Though I still think that if it's past a certain time and you stumble on a spoiler and you get into a tizzy because you haven't seen it yet, either you didn't care enough in the first place to see it, or the time has passed and there should be some realization that they're going to happen.

While I'm not new to the fandom, I am new to this forum, and I don't know it's ins and outs yet. Not every forum has spoiler tags. Had I thought it was that big of a deal, I would have made space for it anyway.

But if it happens, don't consider it rude. Perhaps consider that the person didn't think of it as a spoiler, like in my case, or in other cases where the poster may not think at all.

555 is my favorite toku show. My friends and brother loved it too, very cool stuff. Of course, we all have our own taste which is why forums are great. Faiz just had a cool feel to it, the monster-of-the-week bit felt very well done and maybe X-Files-ish, it just felt fresh and usually not very cheesy. Not that cheese is such a bad thing.

Plus I dig the cast, it never bored me, also had the coolest looking suits and very solid fight scenes. I even dig the ending. Anyways, just sayin', the end justifaiz the means folks.

My second fav so far is OOO, fun stuff. Though a few earlier ones I've yet to watch are on my immediate to watch list, Black, Kuuga, and Agito, very much pumped for those. Not sure of my least fav, but I'd just like to say that Stronger has a big dumb head. No offensive if he's reading this, it's just a massive melon. Like an orange on a toothpick.
