Good episode. The pacing was a bit rushed, but I still enjoyed it. Only real complaints are the silly villains and the fact that the gun morphers just won't shut the hell up (man, and people thought the Wizard Driver was bad).

Two episodes in and I'm still loving this show.Koichi Sakamoto sure knows how to get me immediately sold. There are some bits that bug me though.
I hate that they have to keep cutting to each Ranger in a black void switching out their batteries for another that looks exactly the same. They could easily just have that happen during the fight.I love the samba music during the gattai sequence, but they've gotta cut that footage down or speed up the combining at least. Even so,I just love this show so much already.I love seeing the Rangers have lives outside of being Rangers.Seeing a Ranger with a "daughter" is really cute.I was thinking the secret identity thing was gonna be an ongoing thing, but it's probably for the best if they deal with it quickly.I'm just happy that I can be excited about new Sentai episodes again. :D |
For the most part, I liked this episode, but the editing seemed really bad. It's like they decided to write a 30 minute plot that had to be told in 21 minutes. Plus, I have to say the mecha combining was over complicated and it just did nothing for me. There was also way too much CGI used in the fight. I just don't understand the point of the entire mech battles in this series right now. Yes, Sentai is about mecha fighting giant monsters, but so far, there seems to be no reason for it here.
I do like how the MOTW came into being. It gave me a Gingaman feel when they were going to be selected for which emotion will get a monster. |
Great to see Ayumi-chan again. Also, what a fun episode.

I did feel they would've been better off splitting the Blue and Pink stories into 2 episodes. Yes, it would've delayed combination by an episode, but Blue's family story can easily hold an episode on it's own, and it could've better fleshed out Pink's with an individual episode (Her bit seemed tacked on here).

Liked the episode but rushed as hell. |
Nice job blue, use the statue she wanted to protect to hit the enemy, breaking it.

Well, don't know about you guys, but this episode rocked for me. I loved that the individual Kyoryugers are already showing quite a bit of personality, and the fights were as kinetic they were in the first episode.
Man, I gotta say, the suits look really good. Now that mech combination was GLORIOUS. It was so nice to see something elaborate and slow, and it seemed a majority of it was non-CGI. It ignited that spark of wonder for Super Sentai combinations that I had felt in the MMPR days. Fantastic first debut of the mecha! Quote:

I felt this episode was paced better than the first. It focused on only three of the main team instead of all of them like episode one did (granted they pretty much had to do that in episode one). I think people are being a little unreasonable about the drawn-out combination sequence. This is the first time we are seeing the combination so of course it's going to be long! I'm pretty sure the debut of Gobuster-Oh was just as long. I bet it will be significantly shorter next week or at least by episode 5 or 6 (in case they draw it out with the Zactor and Parasaur combinations as well).
Otherwise it was a fun episode. I agree that they should've split Blue and Pink's stories into serparate episodes but I liked what we got. Looks like next week will be primarily be focusing on Green. Also, anyone else getting a Gekiranger vibe from the Kyoryujin cockpit scenes? |
I love how they put on their weapons

It wasn't because it was drawn out that I had a problem with, it was how over complicated it was. Why are the blue and pink batteries flying into the T-Rex's mouth just to fly out?

As if I didn't think this wasn't "Gaoranger with dinosaurs" enough, the mecha had to go and roar :lol
Another good episode, if a little on the rushed side. Like people said this could have easily just been Blue's episode and had Pink come later as she felt rather shoehorned in. I really like Blue's backstory, and so far I think Amy looks to be the best Pink since Magiranger. We're off to a very good start indeed here. Kyoryujin I'm still a bit mixed on. The design hasn't completely won me over yet, but it looked excellent in action. The combination sequence again looked great, but was horribly drawn out (the samba noise on a constant loop wasn't helping things either). Good thing I expect that to get cut down a lot in the future. |

Another excellent episode. This sentai team has some of the best cast I have ever seen. Blue has a great backstory and I'd love to find out more about him, his sister and her daughter. Pink also has an interesting story being the daughter of a rich parents but isn't a spoiled brat. Looking forward to Green's intro next episode and Black soon after. I hope we'll also get some more insight into Pink and Red's story.
And like I said, this Pink is the most attractive sentai member since Gokai Yellow and because of that I am ok with her being the only girl on the team. One thing is for sure I am going to buy all the figuarts from this team. |

This was a great episode! Blue has proven himself to be my favorite member of the team with his ridiculous strength and dedication to his family. You can definitely see the aspects of his characters original back story coming into play. It's a shame they didn't get to outright make him the father figure they originally wanted too. Really love King, his brash crazy attitude reminds me so much of Deka Red and I'm loving it. Pink was also really interesting and fun, much more so than I expected her to be. And the villains while odd also continue to intrigue me, I like the gimmick they use to grow the monsters quite a bit as well. |

I really liked it. Rangers with backstory and actual character seems like a breath of fresh air. That's not saying that go-busters had none, they just seem to have more of it here. Much more out going team (well so far, black and green look like they could be moody loner types..)
King is just constantly winning me over, he's a good mix of wacky, serious and badass. Blue is awesome too, and I dig that they touched on a superhero trope with the secret identity thing. As for the mech, the combine sequence definitely felt like an instruction video for how to combine the toys, more so than usual. But I am liking them more and more, possibly because even the mechs have character. Who knows. One thing I will praise Go-busters for, handling extra members of the team. Everybody always had something to do. Here they just vanished, hopefully this doesn't stick around. |
I find it really hard to say something meaningful about these shows because everybody else seems to articulate it better then I can. But Kyoryuger has been a blast so far!
King is incredibly like able and fun , I am really looking forward to following him this year. It's a breath of fresh air after having a serious Red last year. Blue's family man character is also nice. I wish they would have written him to be the father himself , but it is what it is. Not much to say about pink except she is a much more like able rich girl them white swan from Jetman. Everyone else is still a mystery at this point , but I'm looking forward to finding out. Can't wait to get some money to buy the toys. I needs me the samba gun! |

What's wrong with them? I guess you'll be complaining about Commander Aya Odagiri if Jetman were aired today, as well. I gonna say that I do enjoy Kyoryuger quite a bit, and I can see alot of potentials up ahead. I hope the villains will take themselves more seriously, though. |

Green and black literally just vanished for a bit. |
That was kind of odd but not disappointing really. Since the episode had heavy Blue and Pink plot I didn't need the Green and Black stuff anyway. From what little I've seen of those 2 I don't like them much as is. But I don't have enough on either of them to make a real judgement call.

Think Kyoryu Green will be like Shun, except with kendo instead of football? :lol

Just finished this episode and I absolutely loved every second. This season, so much better than 90% of Go-Busters, and it's only two episodes in. Nice seeing Pink and Blue and getting a glimpse into their lives, though I see her Parents coming back and forbidding her to be a Sentai ala Yellow in RPM and so many others. And the flashback of Kyo Blue saving Rika and why he feels as he does, or did.
And the combination! Toei, thank you so much for going back to Live Action combinations and ignoring CG for the most-part! That put the biggest smile on my face seeing Kyuryozin combining and it using LA. So much freaking yes. Also.. their weapons. I'm getting a real Gingaman/Lost Galaxy vibe. And I'm thinking they'll form together, at some point, like that in the form a giantass sword. And I love that too. Loved Ginga's combined weapon. And the henshin! I almost forgot the Henshin! Loving that! 5/5 |
I loved this episode, but it felt a bit sped up. Almost like the character development was going too fast. Apart from that, still no complaints. Loving the new morphing sequence-I kinda guessed they wouldn't stick with not-stock footage

And the weapons actually do form a sword that we know about already. Its called the Kentrospiker. And based on all the handles on the under side I think it could double as a big ass cannon too! |
