I played a couple games of Enduro on Activision Anthology for my GBA. That game is still loads of fun. I love the simple concepts of the old games and Enduro is one of the best: Drive. Just drive. I love it.

I'll probably be playing Tyranny of King Washington part 2 over the weekend during my club's 24 hour gaming marathon. ^_^
Meanwhile over the past weekend, I did some more grinding in Skyrim. Literally the only achievement left is to beat a Legendary Dragon... and with all main storylines, quests, side objectives, etc. completed - random dungeon crawling got sorta boring fast. But I'm still not leveled high enough for them to spawn. |
After finishing MG Rising a couple of times, I'm back in Gransys to prepare my Arisen for some more Dragon's Dogma next month.
|
So I'm really, really liking this eagle ability in AC3: The Tyranny of King Washington.

And now, Bioshock Infinite. There are no words. 10/10. |
Thanks to Sentai-Tamashii's hookup, have been playing the heck out of Taiketsu! Ultra Hero for my GBA.
JUST last night I figured out that the background music is not a random selection -- it changes depending on who you are fighting. Which leads to an interesting choice, because if you fight Z-Ton, you get the Return Of Ultraman music rather than the Ultraman music. Of course, Jack did fight Z-Ton, and actually beat him, as well, so it fits. Each bad guy is associated with one of the Ultra Heroes, save Gaia and Agul who I guess do kinda pair with each other. Ultraman -- Baltan Ultraseven -- Dinotanker Jack -- Z-Ton Taro -- Tyrant Tiga -- Gatanathor Dyna -- Reicuras Playing as the monsters is fun as well. The designers did a good job of changing the experience for playing as the monsters versus playing as an Ultra. You don't have a timer, so you can use your specials as often as you want. But you don't have a powerful finisher like the Ultras do. And you can't do the special stuff like the Air Recovery nor the Barrier Shield like the Ultras, but the monsters each have different strengths. Tyrant, for example, takes very little damage because of his armor, Reicuras is short enough that a lot of beams go over his head, and Dinotanker is so short it's very difficult to grab him for a throw. Only complaint about the monsters is that when controlled by the computer, Baltan can do a couple of tricks you can't do when you control him. Namely, he can teleport around the screen, and do a "slow fall" from the sky, but I'll be damned if I can figure out how to do them. But the core remains playing as the Ultra Heroes. I love how they have differentiated the moves between the heroes. Even something as simple as the grapple/throw are vastly different. For instance: Ultraman presses his enemy above his head and then throws him down; Ultraseven unleashes a close range combo, Jack does a snap mare, Taro shoots an leg and then pummels is opponent on the ground, and Tiga does a Street Fighter 2 style throw. The Special moves are nicely varied. Of course everyone has a finisher beam, but they get their other moves as well. Ultraman has his Ultra Cutter, Ultraseven has his Eye Slugger, Jack has his javelin, and so forth. Tiga and Dyna can change forms and have access to their correct moves in each form. Tiga's Sky Type is incredibly fast and can jump almost from one end of the screen to the other. When an Ultra wins a fight, he flies off into the sky, which is just too cool, hehe! This game is not recommended for anyone who is not an Ultra fan, though. I happen to be one, so this is pure Ultra fighting awesomeness. |
Still struck on Mission A-4 in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. For the life of me I can't get the dumb waiter to work for me so I can fight the Boo that creating the Spirit Balls. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong here?

Beat Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow.
It's a decade old, but I could never beat it because my original copy kept wiping itself. Now then, on to Dawn of Sorrow and it's anime graphics :I |

Luigi's Mansion 2. It's the 3DS game I've been waiting for. If it wasn't for that frustrating sound glitch (which has only happened to me twice, but still) it'd be a perfect game.
|
Tried to beat the final level of Metro Prime 3... three years later and I still can't beat it.
|
Persona 4: Arena. Labrys' story is heart-wrenching.
|
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3. This game is literally perfect. To me, anyway. Follows the Manga/Anime SO well.
|
So I finished Just Cause 2's story this morning. That was the worst acting I've seen in a video game hands-down. Contender for some of the worst acting I've ever seen.
|
Still on Assassin's Creed 3. I'm having a surprising amount of fun doing Homestead quests. I just wish the crafting system wasn't so dumb.

Just got every idol on Kid Icarus uprising in about an hour and a half

In prep for my next podcast episode, I have been playing Godzilla: The Series for Game Boy. (It's one of the black cases, so it can be played on either the original GBX or the GBC; I am playing it on my GBA in widescreen format.)
The game is interesting -- it's sort of a shooter where your craft is a giant monster who is nearly the height of the screen. You march to the right as wave after wave of enemies come at you from the other side of the screen. Zilla has an impressive array of attacks -- tail whip, claw swipe, bite, foot stomp, and of course his Atomic Fire Ball. The trick is picking the right attack and timing it, as you can only do one attack at a time. In the case of the Fire Ball and bite, you need to aim it as well by pivoting Zilla's head before you attack. The background changes up from cityscapes to jungles, shorelines, and even underwater, which is nice. The enemies change with it as well. It's a fun game although not very difficult. Once I beat it I will see if there is a Hard mode. I have also been playing the classic Game Boy games Godzilla (the puzzle game) and Kaijuu Oh Gojira (King Of The Monsters, Godzilla) for the show, which is focused on (you guessed it) classic portable Godzilla games. |
I downloaded Battle Realms on gog.com Really good strategy game. Nice peaceful music, a vibrant living world, a unique tech tree/tier system...sad it didn't get very far.
|
Deathsmiles  I'm not very good at Shmups, but I love playing them.
|
Completed all of Assassin's Creed except for the naval missions. Those were impossible before I spent £50,000 upgrading the Aquila. After this, I just got to get 100% Synch and do the rest of the trophies. And multiplayer. And the feathers.
|
Tomb Raider great game, and great new ideas for Lara Croft.
|
Bought a good old game called Startopia, and this was one of those underrated gems. Tremendous fun, but can get frustratingly challenging. Spent over 6 hours yesterday trying to win a mission but still failed.
|
Got through the prison section of Assassin's Creed 3 today. Holy crap, this game is awesome. That section officially moved this one up to second best behind Brotherhood.
|
Playing the classic GB Ultraman. Made it to and actually BEAT Z-Ton, which was a first for me. I had made it to him before but not beat him.
BUT! The way the game works is that after you defeat Z-Ton, he blasts Ultraman and leaves him at death's door. Then you have to shoot Z-Ton with the rocket bullet thing that Arashi shoots him with in the episode. And I missed, so it's GAME OVER. Oh well! Still a fun game if you are an Ultra fan. Very old school Japanese style gameplay. |
Right now? Age of Wushu,Smite, and waiting to get Defiance.

*Sentai Reviews Classic Games* *Sonic Adventure (With DX DLC) on Playstation 3* Let me start by saying I've had this game before. I owned it for the original Dreamcast, which is a system I will defend until I die, and again on Gamecube when it was released as DX. Originally released as one of the Dreamcast's Launch Titles, Sonic Adventure was the first true attempt at a 3D Next Gen Sonic game. The story revolves around a City named Station Square. Robotnick is back, and has found the Ultimate God of Destruction. Chaos. According to Legend: When Chaos devours the Seven Chaos Emeralds he will be unstoppable. And Eggman intends to use that power to turn Station Square into his new citidel. As you progress through the game you find allies, who each have their own unique story. Sonic, Tails, Amy, Big the Cat, Knuckles, and E-102 Gamma. Sonic and Tails each have a similar play style. Classic Sonic Stages where you have to rush to the end, collect rings, and such. Knuckles' consists of searching a given stage, usually one Sonic has cleared, and search for fragments of the Master Emerald. Amy's levels are typical chase scenes, where you have to run from one of Eggman's goons trying to capture her newfound friend Birdie. Big The Cat's stages, again ones Sonic has cleared, are mainly fishing stages. You go around looking for his friend Froggie, somtimes fishing him out of Chaos who swallowed the small frog. And Gamma's are basically basic shooter-type stages. Where he fights back against Eggman, after Amy helped him break his brainwashing. The DX pack, which was only 2 bucks, includes extra stages and Metal Sonic as a playable character in the mission stages. If you pay the five bucks for Sonic Adventure, I'd say spend the extra 2 for the DX pack. I wish I could tell you this game aged well. I still enjoy it, but it has so many problems I can't recommend you buy it unless you're a huge Sonic Junkie like I am. The Camera in this is freefloating, but you have almost no control over it. Making platforming a real chore. The controls are solid enough, when they work. But you'll find yourself cussing at the camera so often you'll never notice. The story is there, I enjoy the characters and such. But the graphics are showing their age, the controls are hindered by the camera, and every other character using stages Sonic has been through is lazy. This title does have full trophy support, and their all really easy to get. So there's that. Sentai Gives Sonic Adventure 2 DX for the Playsation 3: 3/5 Headders |
I am playing Injustice: Gods Among Us.
It is kind of fun. |
Well got Defiance.Such a great game, can spend hours just doing side quests.Map is massive!

*Sentai Reviews Classic Games* *Sonic Adventure 2: Battle on the Playstation 3* Once again we have a game I owned twice before. On the Dreamcast, the Gamecube, and now again on the PS3. Sonic Adventure 2 is the sequel to the original Sonic Adventure. But much more refined. The Game takes place in the same world as Sonic Adventure. But where you could freeroam a Map between missions, in SA2 you do everything through Missions broken up between the six characters. But you don't have to find them this time, which is nice. The level types are broken up between three main types. Sonic and Shadow are classic Sonic. Rush to the end, collect Rings, save Animals. Rouge and Knuckles are open ended maps, where you search for the Master Emeralds (And sometimes Keys). And Tails and Eggman are typical Levels but you pilot two different kinds of Mecha. Eggman in his Eggcar, and Tails in the transformed Tornado 2. One thing I'm pleased about is they fixed the Camera. It follows the character perfectly, you can rotate it, and isn't the hinderence it is in SADX. Another is that every character has distinct levels, and you don't repeat like in the first game. At the onset you choose between Hero or Dark, allowing you to either do the Hero Story or the Villian. You go from character to character, moving along through the story, and learning more about Shadow's Past and Eggman's Grandfather. While trying to stop the destruction of Station Square by the Robotnik Cannon in Orbit, hidden inside a large Asteriod. Once you progress through both stories, there's a Special Mission, where both sides join forces to stop the Final Launch. And you go back and forth between all six characters. One thing I did enjoy in this, that I never played in the original because it wasn't any good, is the Chao Garden. You're given two eggs at the onset (You can purchase more later in the Chao Kindergarten). And can raise the Chao inside however you want. You can throw them, kick them, love them. And give them various animals you rescue or Chao Power Cores from inside the Guard robots in the game. The tiny virtual pets even evolve given the right attention, opening up two more Gardens. A Hero, which they modeled after a Heaven scene. And Dark, which looks like a cartoon Hell. But that's not all. You can fight your virtual pets with use of the Battle DLC, and pit them in a Karate Tournement. Or Race them against other baby Chao. Both help you unlock toys for the Chao, and give you Badges to use to purhcase rarer items. One bonus that comes from the game is a free SA2 Theme featuring rotating pictures of Sonic and Shadow. Along with PSHome items through playing the game. A blue SA2 shirt, and Sonic's Grind Shoes, for your Avatar. This game improves where the first one lagged. It has a more cohesive story, better graphics, better controls, and the camera doesn't beat you. All in All a ver fun game, and a great way to kill an hour. Sentai gives Sonic Adventure 2 (With Battle DLC): 4/5 |
I never gave the Sonic Adventure games much mind. Is 2 really that good, or is it just getting a score like that for being better than the first?

Meh. I like SADX over SA2B. In fact, SADX is my favorite Sonic game.

Well, I'm still looking for that one Sonic game to make me a fan, having resisted Sonic all throughout the 90's :lol

Oh, I hated Sonic The Fighters. Sonic seems to cash in on every gaming fad, with a fighter, a racer, a party game, and probably an RPG that I'm not aware of (And they all suck). :lol
And I've heard good things about Colors. I really do need to look into it. |

The PS port is a direct port from the Dreamcast. Matrix: They all Supersuck. I do, however, enjoy the new Racing game. Then I'm a sucker for a Kart game. |
