Very disappointing news. As the first and arguably most popular US only ranger his cameo is perhaps one of the best they could have done IMO. I feel really bad for Rhett too given how eager he was for it too.

Man...all this news of denied cameo's is just depressing, I was so hopeful when megaforce started but now this feels like the Calish era all over again.

If they don't have the suit anymore, it could cost a bit to make a new one, and also since there is no gokaiger footage they would have to treat him as an extra ranger. This also makes me wonder if they will us battlizers because if they don't exist they can't use them.

If I get Austin st. John.....then I'm happy.

But I would love some Selwyn ward.

Super Megaforce is turning into a massive disappointment. I love Faunt, Smith and JDF but that doesn't balance out that they have three people representing one of the worst Power Rangers series ever and they've brought back the horrible human being that is Benta. Plus so far they're barely representing any of the good seasons.

If Saban didn't blow its budget on a weaksauce Goseiger adaptation, maybe the 20th Anniversary would be something to look forward to right now.

No, I have. The thing with Transfans, is that the adult fans are much larger than the adult fans for Power Rangers. Per capita, I'd say Power Ranger fans bitch far more.

And mind you, I'm not pinpointing out anyone here. I've whined myself a time or three. Regardless though, people seem to want their own version of PR, how it should be, as if they're some writer and have all the answers. By and large, those ideas are usually vastly different, where as with Transfans, you get a few great ideas how something "should be" instead and most take "sides" and agree.

I'd love for Selwyn to come back. Maybe make a quick joke about having a hard time using a key to morph correctly.

It's posts like these that frustrate me. First off, each season has it's own budget. Secondly, how do you know for certain that's the case? Are there documents somewhere that prove that? It's like people want to point fingers, but do we have any idea what actually goes on?

This might just be the most disappointing one yet, especially given it wasn't his choice.

Exactly. Unlike gokaiger...This is a 6th ranger, from what I remember no other 6th ranger made a cameo besides AbareKiller. And Rhett sounded like he was excited to reprise his role (#Majorletdown).

Dragon Ranger, TimeFire, Abarekiller, DekaMaster.

Those first three didn't appear out of suit. And DekaMaster's non transformed form is a suit.

This sucks. It's supposed to be the 20th Anniversary, and Titanium Ranger is pretty damn special to Power Rangers. The first American made Ranger should be celebrated as part of all the great things Power Rangers has done in it's years. It's a real shame.

I meant out of the suit, and Dekamaster is one of those Extra hero since, Gai doesn't represent him and instead represent Dekabreak.

At first when I read this article I thought it was kind of rude to "uninvite" actors that they had invited to come do cameos for Super Megaforce. But I thought about it and what I think happened was that Saban's casting reached out to all the actors they could and, as confirmations started to come in, had to "uninvite" actors they felt the show did not need or could afford. I guess it makes sense to first send out a mass casting call to get as many people as possible.

I am wondering how these cameos are going to work into the show, though. Will they be supporting characters of the day like most cameos worked in Gokaiger? Or will we get a lot of 199 movie or Sun Vulcan/Flashman/Changeman/Maskman/Fiveman brief appearances? Obviously, I hope the returning actors get to play a part in the story without stealing too much focus from the main cast.

In fairness of the Megaforce Rangers, I love how Gia functions as like the second in command and Noah is the stereotyped nerd but he has also been matched up with a sentai character who kicks loads off ass.

I think this is pretty positive for the kids considering the nerd and female characters have become more tacked on tropes in the franchise than actual characters.

Emma is the only member of the Megaforce team I actually straight dislike.

Abarekiller did de-transform in the scene in which they gave Gai their powers, so there's that.

My assumption, based on Ahkim B's statement that budgets don't control guest appearances, the E.P. does (Tzachor), is that they decided to cut Rhett's part out of the anniversary because they don't have the Titanium suit (as Japan never had it, it was made strictly for the USA). If you don't have a suit for a cool little "one-over" image on the actor, or for Megaforce Silver to morph in to, why have the actor return?

Nearly all the props they're getting are from Toei. I doubt Toei kept anything other than a design sheet for the suit, and even then, who knows what happened to it.

Don't get me wrong - I want Rhett Fisher back badly. So badly. But that's the only reasoning I can think of is that they wouldn't have a suit to represent his Ranger, thus, why bring him on?

I do not doubt the possibility of the Titanium Ranger suit having been lost. However, I think the likelier answer is Jonathan Tzachor wanting to stick closer to the story of Gokaiger. The closest thing we got to a GoGo-V tribute was a brief appearance by GoGreen in the final episode. Why would Tzachor put the Titanium Ranger in the show, especially when it would require all-new footage?

Except for that entire GoGo-V tribute episode which heavily featured GoPink and ended with Gokaioh getting a GoGo-V themed finisher, you mean. GoGo-V DID get a tribute episode.

Well, I haven't watched Gokaiger, and only learned about the GoGreen thing after a quick Google search. :p But the footage/adherance to script thing still stands.

The one thing I don't understand is how Super Megaforce can stick close to Gokaiger?

Although we can argue it (but don't, please) Power Rangers and Super Sentai are very different shows and products, especially in the early days a lot of changes were made and since Gokaiger is a celebration of a history of stories and characters that don't exist in Power Rangers, I can only see this working at all if they actually do something original with it.

Not to mention the fact that Gokaiger was a fully fledged series with an actual developed plot that spanned 51 episodes, while Super Megaforce will be a crammed 20 episode season.

But that probably won't work for any Gokaiger-Super Megaforce episode, because Gokaiger was very character-driven. With Samurai, the characters were like very (emphasising very) neutered versions of their Shinkenger counterparts so the basic plot could often be followed. The Megaforce characters are almost polar opposites to their Gokaiger counterparts in most cases (Marvelous/Troy, Joe/Noah, Doc/Jake and Ahim/Emma have nothing in common rather then being Pink and Gia doesn't resemble Luka much at all), even ignoring the fact that all of the Megaforce cast have the personality of a rock.
Also, like Locke said, many tributes are impossible to adapt because of the changes. Carranger, Ohranger and Megaranger's tribute episodes, for example, have nothing that could tie into a Turbo, Zeo or In Space tribute. There's basically no way that Gokaiger can be simply adapted by just changing things like Samurai.

It's Tzachor. He will find a way. Isn't that right, Power Rangers (Super) Samurai?

Although I did read an interview between Fury Diamond and Alison MacInnis (Dana Mitchell/Lightspeed Rescue, Pink Ranger), and she expressed an interest in returning.
