Why are any of us surprised exactly?

When MMPR just started he was known for hiring Non-Union Actors and Actress', paying them next to nothing, and generally treating them like slave labor. Amy Jo Johnson said so herself in that podcast interveiw with No Pink Spandex. And look at what he did to Ron Wassermon.
Why are we surprised now he doesn't give a damn? Why does it surprise us that he's letting the Demon from Samurai hire back all of the Samurai Writers for SMF?

I will buy the merchandise. Because that's all that I care about for Super Megaforce at this point. Which is playing right in to Saban Brands' hands. Damn it.

More or less confirmed with his cancellation of attending Puert Rico Comic Con which took place at the same time as SMF filming for returning actors.

At this point, I think I'm gonna stop giving the shows even the slightest chance. I'm done. Toys only from now on. And how about we get a real Battlizer mode this time?!?! You had no problem making up modes for Shinkenger. If you're gonna do it for Gokaiger (we know you will) then make it something good!!!! And not some huge overpriced 12'' figure either! Something REASONABLE!!!! 6 Inches with moderate articulation and plenty of armor. How about red that combines with a scaled version of the gokai galleon? Not too hard guys........Dear lord I need to take a breather.

For me? I don't give a crap about the show. Mt son will watch it and I will watch it with him. As for the toys. I have most of the Gokaiger version of the toys so I'm probably not going to get the gimped out versions of the US release. Now if the have Gilbert Gottfried doing the voice of the morpher, it will be a must buy.

I had thought that because of Samurai/Super Samurai sucking it was because this was Saban's first Power Rangers show since Wild Force. They had to make it a direct translation of Shinkenger because they needed to save the money for adapting Gokaiger into Super Megaforce.

Then I read this email.

They can give us an Americanized cockpit for the Megazords in Samurai, complete with Mega Modes, yet they can't afford at least ONE actor from every past season? Hell, they can't even afford to make ONE new Ranger Key for ONE of the four US exclusive Rangers throughout the series run?

While this "Fury Diamond" fellow has made bold claims in the past regarding what's going on in Power Rangers, this is either one gigantic lie, or Saban is a greedy bastard. I figured it would be the former and it's Fury Diamond trying to lie to us to keep the real info a secret, but if this ends up being the latter...I'm not getting the American Ranger Keys that I've been dying to look forward to.

He's a reliable and consistant source of information regarding Power Rangers as a television show for a few years now.

Why would he lie about this and ruin his reputation? Anger seems to be clouding your minds.

Also, in regards to the Mega Mode cockpit, they had to incorporate Mega Mode into the show somehow anyway, as there was a toy for it. The toy was to come first. Originally, Samurai wasn't going to be a show for a season, and BoA was still going to make toys. There was no plans to make "regular" Rangers initially, that's why we got Mega Mode first. Once those were released, to increase sales, Saban and crew put them in the show. What better place to use "Mega Mode" then in a "Megazord."

Fury Diamond is incredibly reputable. If he's circulating info then it's SOLID. No questions.

But as for the cameos not happening, I'm not someone who gushes over JDF. Just getting him back means nothing to me. I've met the guy before and I don't much care for him or his attitude. Green/White Ranger is not the end all be all for me of Power Rangers. Saying something like "Oh at least we got Tommy" doesn't make Saban's misstep here any more excusable. In fact it makes it less excusable. They assume the fans will be happy if they throw one bone at us and that's it.

That's insulting. They know what fans want and if they're saying otherwise it's because they're cheap. Not knowing that they'd need past rangers is the most ridiculously bold faced lie they could have come up with.

I don't think it's a lie as opposed to the thought process of "well, we'll use suit actors" and then the rumblings from the adult fandom wanting the actual actors back, the response being "oh shit, we goofed up big time!"

But they would have at least needed the actors for voice over if nothing else right? It just smacks of Saban's cheapness. It seems like they're using the money angle as an easy excuse and putting blame on the actors for not coming in spite of this. It feels like they want to guilt the actors into coming out for the big anniversary even though they won't make jack for this job.

Man, I hope the new rider series is awesome, because between Megaforce being a smellephant, Wizard not interesting me and Kyouryuranger(sp?) being itself, I've got no current Toku in my life. :cry

If current day series aren't doing it for you, perhaps you could go back to the 70's and check out Amazon or Stronger.

Given how much of a shit storm this is turning into inside the fandom Saban is only hurting themselves. Would it have been so hard to setup some areas in California to get these guys into the show?

Sure why not. Because if that's the only reason you can imagine someone wouldn't like it, there's obviously no use actually explaining.

To everyone else, I don't dislike Kyoryuger, it's just not in any way appealing to me. The silly dancing, the mech and suit designs, the shrill voice everything makes just doesn't get my attention. Nothing wrong with it, just that it is it's own thing.

It's not ryuger or ranger though, it's just yuger. Kyoryu literally means Dinosaur. As with a lot of recent sentai the suffix part of the name usually isn't any kind of word at all. Just a piece of a word to make the name roll off more smoothly. Like Go-Onger instead of Go-On Ranger, or Shinkenger instead of Shinken Ranger.

If anything's clouding my mind, it's confusion. This is supposed to be the big anniversary season, and hearing all this news about Saban being a cheap bastard including little to no cameos by many Power Rangers actors leads me to believe that Fury Diamond is lying.

If you're going to do an anniversary season, adapting it from Gokaiger, an anniversary season of Super Sentai (and a huge one at that), you'd have to go all out and pull out all the stops on this. Remember Power Rangers In Space? That was originally meant to be the last season of the show (due to Turbo sucking), and Saban did everything he could to make it the best season back then. Guess what? It saved Power Rangers! Super Megaforce can, too, if Saban just LISTENS TO THE FANS and does what they want him to do for this milestone.

Until we see the show itself, I'm not believing anything Fury Diamond says. He may have been right in the past, but everyone can be wrong at some point in their lives.

Not neccessarily, sadly. There's also people out there that can sound close to the original actors as well (though lets not have JDF do Austin St. John again, please XD) and get the point across.

In All Riders versus Daishocker, Rider 1 and 2 didn't have speaking parts at all, nodding and doing grunts and such. The only Riders to come back for the cameo were the one from Agito, Black/Black RX and I believe one more (besides good ol' Momo of course.)

Right, I understand that. But let's say all this is phony and BS. Perhaps Fury was told to say things like that. It's not necessary lying, but misleading.

Regardless, the "confusion/anger" should be pointed at Saban. This certainly is a "don't shoot the messenger" type of scenario.

Fury Diamond is a rockstar and someone I consider a friend after having many conversations with him privately. He's part of a great site and crew over at RangerCrew. All stand up people, glad to be able to consider them friends.

No, I'm sure Fury Diamond's a great guy. It's just that all these news about former Power Rangers actors being denied a spot on Super Megaforce reeks to high heaven. I think if anything, Saban wouldn't cheap out on an anniversary season like this. Hell, Megaforce managed to get rid of what they could with Goseiger's angel motif, so why just go for a straight adaptation of Gokaiger when in the past we've had seasons where Power Rangers had an original story instead of being more or less a translation of the original Sentai?

As I said before, I'm not believing any sort of news related to Super Megaforce until we see the show in action before I make judgment.
