Actually Del Toro has alluded to this in interviews regarding the possible sequel. Some sort of Jaeger/Kaiju fusion. Though who know how much of that will be in there if the sequel gets made.

Would be cool to see a jaeger form of Leatherback,kind of like Mechagodzilla.

Just saw this. Holy. Shit. This was a great movie, the beginning was kinda slow for me, but when it got rolling, it didnt stop! I was reluctant to get any of the figures at first, but seeing them on screen, I am so getting these! I wouldve bought Gypsy Danger tonight, but all my TRU had was Knifehead and Crimson Typhoon, considering it didnt fight much at all, he'll be a last purchase along with the dome head one. But I really want a Stryker Jeager made. Him and GD will be huge buys for me. Stryker just reminded me of a gundam so much, and I love the Gn-X styled head too.

So the movie? Go. See. It. NOW! Oh, and whoever said about the Green on right and Purple on left for CycloneJoker, I can definetly see that as an intentional design. I just loved the all out brawls and everything about this movie. The Kaiju are pretty awesomely designed and I just cant get over the way this movie is. I really want a sequel just so we can play more on Mako and Raleighs relationship, how Marshall and the other guys death will impact Mako and his dad. And to see a new Gypsy Danger and Stryker, I really love their designs. :lol

Actually they are making Striker Eureka. It's in Series 2 along with Battle Damage Gipsy and Leatherback.

Hell yes! If I get any Jeager besides Gypsy, itll be that one. I dont know if I love the design or the fact that its just the most Gundam looking or the way its pilots were portrayed and ended, but I LOVE the SE.

So now to say goodbye to $20 a figure :lol

Finally got to see this with my family last night, im on my phone so ill keep this brief. I LOVED it! This is the first time since Dredd where I was glad I saw it in 3D, not only are the effects flawless it makes full use of the 3d which leaves action scenes feeling like themepark rides.

My only real criticism of the film is...why were those other three mech there? I mean I know why but its just minus Striker, the other two didn't even get one fight scene to show off how awesome they were, they were taken down after one attack and I found that dissapointing.

There's no point in going into any detail because what needs to be said has already been said. All I need to say is that I LOVED this film and it pretty much delivered everything I wanted out of it. I don't think I've enjoyed a film this much in years, and there's been some pretty good stuff come out in that time.

Is it me or does this movie SCREAM for DTV animated tie-in movies?

Well there's that 5 year gap in the middle of the film where those Jaegers are doing their thing. So by the climax they're unnecessary. Would I like to see more? Sure. But contextually I understand why they went out like like some of the lamer G Gundam pilots :lol

I get why they went down like they did but in many senses Typhoon and the Russian ones were cooler than Gipsy and Striker, so it seems a shame to establish awesome to then kill it off. They should have made them more generic if all they were there to do was to die and raise the stakes.

Well, WB apparently has more faith in this than I thought. Guiliermo has the go-ahead to start writing the sequel! :D

Japan's dub cast is pretty impressive too.

I wonder if anyone will sub the Japanese version, it feels like the film belongs in Japanese.

They actually green lit the sequel late last year and had a written treatment already done up. I guess now it's actually happening for real though!

Green Lantern 2 had a greenlit sequel before the movie came out too. :lol Just throwing it out there!

I thought for sure a sequel wasn't going to happen. I'm glad to hear that they are still going to give it a chance.

But Green Latern also nosedived right out of the gates. Pacific Rim is still fairing well, just not breaking any records.

Plus, GL wasn't directed by Del Toro. If that guy wants a sequel, he'll make a sequel. Just look at Hellboy 2. Box office numbers be damned, if he wants to tell a story, he will.

I'd watch that. I'd also watch him as the Black Panther. Just get him in more movies. He sure was the highlight (actor wise) of this one.

What I jokingly referenced was the trend that film franchises can make all the plans they wish and greenlight any number of sequels and it lead nowhere if the money isn't there. Even with that interview or del Toro's track record I wouldn't consider Pacific Rim 2 a guarantee, but I absolutely agree it's no Green Lantern (or Dredd or John Carter etc.). There's a reason I only quoted that first bit, and didn't reference the current update.
