Damn, then my idea to straight out rip off the death of Optimus Prime in the first Transformers animated movie is not going to happen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_ULg4RSy5Y Replaces the Matrix with the Morphing Grid and done. |

Gai, Daigo, Jin, Shiro, Ryu, Yusuke, Takeru, Akira, Momo, Kenta, Hikaru, Yuri, Kai, and Ken. That's just from a quick wiki search. I probably missed some that use alternate spelling of the same name. Heck, these are common names in Japanese fiction period. |

Maybe the Dairangers will be Tommy's own personal Ranger Team. When he turns into the White Ranger he'll share with the Mega Force rangers that as the White Ranger he has his own personal team of Rangers the ... Tommy Rangers! :lol

I hope all of the Dairangers are played by Tommy from different points in the shows timeline.

Ignoring the whole Tommy ranger thing, have they explained how Tommy will appear as 5 different rangers at the same time?

So from what I have researched, this is what I gather about Dairanger:
Saban owns the rights to Dairanger for the United States adaption of Power Rangers - they had to purchase the whole she-bang from TOEI in order to use the White Ranger, zord footage, and monster footage/suits. This would explain why Saban almost brought them in as "Legendary Rangers" in the "Lost Galaxy" season, to be shown as part of Magna Defendor's team that was destroyed eons ago. They have the rights to it, why not use it? That being said, in Gokaiger, there's almost no footage of Kibaranger (White Ranger) without the other Dairangers. Thus showing the White Ranger would require showing the Dairangers as well if you're using source footage. We also saw a remade Dairanger key at SDCC which was removed the last day of the show. Now, this is speculatory, but I'm throwing it out there - all the suits we've seen in Super Megaforce shots have been shown in the Legendary War and that's it. Wild Force, Lost Galaxy were seen on-set but were also in the Legendary War pictures from the actors who went there. We have yet to see any suit NOT shown in the pictures of the Legendary War. The last time we saw the White Ranger suit, it was an old stunt suit that was falling apart (Dino Thunder - Fighting Spirit). What are the possibilities that, to save money, Saban didn't have TOEI ship over a bunch of suits and instead just used what's in their own archive? Meaning that a majority of the footage in Super Megaforce will be straight Gokaiger footage, just like with Samurai and Super Samurai? And thus the only way to show the White Ranger (if they didn't bring the suit over) is to go ahead and show the Dairangers as well? I hope I'm wrong but it's a thought. |
Being serious for like the first time in this thread, it kinda saddens me that Saban are...shit.
The Morphing Grid is barely even a concept, but in its very nature it is a fantastic device to build upon and explore and every little subtle hint we've had to its power, like overloading it with similar colours, the ability to hack into it, the fact it has a physical form and holds the key to the past, present and future has all been fascinating. And although Super Megaforce is the perfect series to explore what was once a central part of this shows lore, I'm betting it'll barely get a nod, if it's even mentioned at all. As much as I dislike a lot of Saban's stuff now I'm an adult, at least they were trying to build a world and a continuity, it gets me kinda bummed when I realised by Lost Galaxy really none of this was ever going to go anywhere, Power Rangers might have grown into something much more than it is if they continued to build on one central mythos rather than doing it the way sentai does. |
Jungle Fury mentioned the morphing grid, so it's not exactly taken out of canon, and for all that we know the Ranger Keys power could come directly from the morphing grid, which would make more sense than Gokaiger explanation at the very least.

I don't think your wrong. Kind of makes me wish more they'd have used them in season 2 as an upgrade suit for the MMPR team. They could've used so much more beautiful Dai footage, and I'd have Dai figures right now.
Everyone wins! |
The Dairangers should have been the metalic armor.

Well I am excited to see the Diaranger suits in Megaforce because it opens a bit of story and also since BOA made a green Diaranger key it means we will see the suits in the show, since the American ranger key toys are different mold than the Super Sentais.

I'm still pulling for them being called Thunder Rangers.

Of course, I'm still not convinced Dairanger will be in the final product. Saban Brands has used footage in trailers that aren't in the actual show before. The one cool shot in Shinkenger The Movie where the Shinkenger are on horseback isn't in Samurai as far as I know, but it was in the TV trailers. We also saw Akaranger telling everyone to combine powers in last year's Megaforce trailer and that sure hasn't happened yet in the show. |
