I don't want to sound like Squirrel Girl but I miss the times where superheroes fought giant apes on the moon and stuff.

I don't need every hero to be flawed and stuff, sometimes I just want to see Cap punch silly villains. :lol

Yes, yes and yes. I am really frustrated with the whole heros fighting heros and being edgy stuff. Thats why I really enjoy Hawkeye and Daredevil the most in current marvel. Both books are just pure fun.

Hakweye is a great read and almost all the stories are stand alone so it's feels even more old school.

Daredevil I haven't checked since Shadowland, which I didn't like much, but if his book is as fun as Hawkeye, I should give it a try.

Mark Waids Daredevil is just beyond awesome.

Thing is that I started to read Daredevil with "Born Again", and I loved Mark Millar's run on it, one of the first comics I ever read, so I'm kinda used to gritty and depressing Matt.
I specially loved the art, some issues completely dropped the traditional art and went for a style that imitated the radar sense, those stand alone stories were simply beautiful.

But a fun Matt could be good too.

And I put the first three trades on hold at the library.

Read Hawkeye too! It's great!

Waids DD is definitely lighter than the miller,bendis or brubaker stuff but it gets to some very dark places.

my favorite arc is when foggy gets cancer and Matt starts seeing his fathers dead remains in his appartement or his wife laying in his bed even though she is supposed to be in an asylum.

I think I'll hold out for now. I've already got 20 other books on hold. :lol

For me the only things really worth reading at the moment are

Daredevil,Avengers A.I.,Uncanny Avengers,Thor,Captain America,Hawkeye,All New X-Men,Indestructible Hulk and Guardians of the Galaxy.

The other books are nice reads but most of them are really mediocre and or just bad.

I'll say this: Scarlet Spider is awesome. That comic may have provided me with my senior quote.

I want to check out Venom (which is why I placed holds on the first few trades). I really liked the issues that tied into Spider-Island.

Yeah Scarlet Spider and Venom are both absolute must reads. I didnt count them cause both are ending this year.

I was so pissed when I read about this. I adored Venom and really enjoyed Cullen Bunns run so far. They better give Flash Thompson a new number one in All New Marvel Now or I´m going to be really sad.

I've given up on Marvel doing something older fans would appreciate. R.I.P., Peter Parker. They're great for movies, but they're more concerned with getting new fans.

Atleast Marvel is not failing with their books like DC does since 2011. I really looked forward to the reboot but they failed on every level with that...and its only getting worse.

I think the problem is that comic companies have stopped writing books for comic fans and instead aim them towards people who have no interest in comics. On the one hand, this does boost their reader-base and increases the amount of money they can pocket. On the other hand, they alienate older fans.

The DC reboot has some titles that I enjoyed (Batman, Superman, Action Comics, Detective Comics, Aquaman, Justice League International, Justice League Dark, and Earth-2 to name a few), but it probably has produced a few duds. For the most part, I've enjoyed what I've read.

I've got 23 holds, total. I think I'm fine. :lol

On Aquaman I agree but Wonder Woman I never really enjoyed. I just couldnt get behind this new version of the amazons. Well atleast they dont use their deadly bee weapon anymore....bees...my god.

Fucking Avengers Arena... that's all I'll say.

Anyways, I decided to check Deadpool, and Cap just decapitated Truman. :lolol

Not really memeworthy but...they set the whole state of kansas on fire and I mean the whole state. Also you couldnt read the event without reading all of the tie ins because they contained crucial informations regarding the plot.

And that's stupid, I really liked the Deadpool Fear itself tie-in, mostly because it had nothing to do with it, plus it was written by the guy that does Dr Mcninja!

Shame I can't find A+X #8 it has a Deadpool Hawkeye team-up by him.

Why are comics so expensive and so extensive? I wanted to read Guardians of the Galaxy, then I was told I needed to read Annihilation. That resulted in more than twice the amount of money I had intended to spend in the first place. So, probably cancelled that idea now.

I'd check your library if I were you. That's where I get most of my comics.

Read the solicits for february aaaand....Daredevil is ending that month. Another great series getting cancelled and that makes me a sad sad pandabear.
Atleast we will be getting a new New Warriors ongoing by Christopher Yost the genius behind Scarlet Spider. Also I gotta say the new Fantastic Four uniforms look horrible.
