Very rarely is PR a watered down version of a Sentai.
Many series still have no subs to watch or are barely halfway through.
And, tying into my first point, many prefer the story told in PR over the story told in Sentai.

I may be a bit of a sentai snob but I recognize that people like what they like. I actually do think Ranger seasons are watered down from their sentai counterparts, but I'm not going to argue or get in someone's way of watching them. I just prefer the original version to the adaptation.

Samurai could be tolerable with a Japanese dub, but it's both odd and sad that the Shinkenger cast won't be doing the dub. While I generally prefer the sentai version Shinkenger was a total snoozefest for me. It'd be interesting to have those actors try and adapt to the Samurai characters but instead we're getting an alternate voice cast, which while good, is out of the ordinary for these adaptation dubs.

I think it's more 50/50 to be honest. The Mystic Force dub didn't have the Magiranger cast return either aside from Kai narrating.

i think most of you are a lot more tolerant then i am. i tried watching one episode of samurai and couldn't do it.

the kicker was the lines between the young Wayne Gretzky look alike and Deker (i think that is what he is called here)

that went something like:

Wayne Gretzky: i will not fight you
Deker: you WILL fight me!
Wayne Gretzky: i will not fight you!
Deker: you WILL fight me or i will keep trying!!!
Wayne Gretzky: ok, will fight you!

To me, Samurai is terrible. I love PR, but didn't make it one full episode into Samurai.

Fixed because RPM.

RPM will forever be the shining beacon of what PR once did and could, with effort and the will to act, one day be again.

Also In Space was rad.

I think 'watered down' is unfair, very few Power Rangers seasons are straight adaptations - well technically none of them are really so it is impossible to water down something when you are a totally different franchise.

Sure there are limitations on American broadcasting that there aren't in Japan but Disney for the most part made each Power Ranger show its own, even when sticking to the sentai pretty closely.

Samurai on the other hand is everything the snobs claim, a watered down version of the Sentai, which is why I despise it with all my being.

This should be subbed, so we can have an english subbed version of an american adaptation of a japanese show.

He seems pretty worth it for being £9 with postage right now (that is for the 10cm one). He is cool looking, even if I have no context for him, as I hate Samurai and never even attempted Super Samurai.

I got the Red and Gold 10" ones. They looks pretty awesome, but their armor falls off just by looking at them. All enthusiasm was lost the millionth time I had to put them back together, they just ended up more trouble then they're worth.

The Shogun mode looks pretty awesome though.

I'd check it out. It's not much better, but after Lauren shows up and says her first few lines (and I do mean after) the show does improve.

Deary me, they'd be better off reairing Shinkenger with the Samurai name.

if it makes it cheaper to find shinkenger toys though then I'm all for it.
