Just picked up Season 1 of 'Arrow' so I'll be marathoning that soon. I'm pretty excited for the second season but I'm afraid they're going to try and go too big , too fast.

Teen Wolf S03E07.
Pretty much all of this episode was build up and even when it "came together" it was fairly unsatisfying. To the point where the show has even started to insult its own ridiculousness, which is never a good sign. But at least there was Tenaya's cleavage. |

I'm glad Chuck Lorre's only knowledge on Tokusatsu is Godzilla.

Teen Wolf S03E08.
What a gorgeous episode! I bet you didn't care why some werewolves have blue eyes, but it turned out to be such a fantastic tale anyway. And so wonderfully woven as to keep us going for the season to come. This show may misstep pretty often, but episodes like this are so wonderful I find it hard to care any more. |
Teen Wolf S03E09.
What the hell happened to this show? It used to always be a teen melodrama, for sure, but now it's like a melodrama in every area and it's just so corny it's impossible for the actors to sell some of the ridiculous shit they have to say and do. They try and balance that with a bit of self parody, but that is really like a deathwish, ain't it? There were some great parts to the episode though, I love the relationship Stiles has with his Dad and the way they always make his Dad relevant and engaging despite nearly constantly being on the fringe, so the idea that he now may be all in, really excites me. Please just don't die! The same with Lydia, I've really never been a huge fan of her character, but now that she is starting to accept that she is 'something' and is now trying to use her powers to help Scott and the gang, gets her a thumbs up from me.... and it turns out she is a, BANSHEE?! What the fuuuuck! What a fucking twist with the Durrock as well! That is two new supernatural creatures in the same episode, none of them clichéd overused ones and both wonderfully woven in. The show managed to widen its supernatural pool without fucking it up. Awesome! |
Teen Wolf S03E10.
On the one hand, this episode felt insanely cheap as it all took place in a single location, a location that was given an in story reason to have no extras at all, and to be largely made up of very small spaces. On the other hand, they clearly used all the money they had left over from the sets, in the action, and although still not toku levels of action, this was forty minutes of all out brawls, with minimum amounts of cut aways or use of slow motion to stand in for actual fighting. It was very enjoyable. Allison and her Dad fighting side by side is especially badass, although why he is using guns is as beyond me as why Allison chooses to only use those flash arrows and doesn't just use proper ones. The Alpha's may be too strong for them, but they can at least try. With the amount of power the Darach has, it's kind of confusing as to why she wants to be protected by Derek and the gang, especially so as she has seen Derek and the gang regularly beaten by the Alphas and almost killed. Hell right now, she is probably the strongest thing in this show. I love how careful this show is, with its continuity. The whole flashback part of this season is quite confusing in where exactly in time it takes place, as it doesn't all add up properly, but the show still does a pretty damn job in holding everything together. The emissaries may well have been made up in the last moment, but them never being mentioned, is rewritten as them being 'forgotten' and that is a driving part of the Darach's motivations. The same can be said for Stiles, in a show filled with badass teen archers and grown men with the power to throw you through the wall, you would think a comic relief human sidekick would be worse than a splinter in the eye ball. In reality the show uses him fantastically, his own knowledge of just how useless he is is actual used for the sake of a constant plot point and character arc pusher. His battle with his own irrelevancy makes him one of the most engaging, and loveable characters in the whole series and also makes him a fantastic window into the world for the audience who really can't relate to anyone else, as everyone in this show has their badass turned up to eleven at all times. Dat twist with the Guardians as well! |
Teen Wolf S03E11.
Is Allison the best female character ever written? Probably. Her Dad is pretty fucking cool as well, which says a lot since they have no powers, and are surrounded by people with crazy ones. I love how Stiles and Lydia finally kissed, and they have chemistry! And hey, I may be no shipper, but Allison can't start dating Isaac, she belongs with Scott! Oh well...next stop, mid season finale! |
Teen Wolf Season Three Midseason Finale.
How the fuck does any of this sacrifice stuff work? They went into some icy water, so it allowed them like...astral projection powers, why? And they survived being in that icy water, in a near death state, for sixteen hours? How? And what was all that shit about needing an emotional connection to go down and come back again? They seemed to wake up fine on their own. Cora inexplicably survives, just turns up and the show just brushes over that, only to have her brought back from death again. Is the show ever going to bother explaining her? Then again, Derek is no better, with his whole 'is he isn't he dead' storyline rushed to the point of meaninglessness only to throw him right back in the line of fire again. I know it's kinda an injoke with the show anyway, but throwing the characters in front of death at every single turn, takes the meaning away from their circumstances, it takes away the danger, the sense of purpose and stops us forming any kind of emotional engagement in what is happening to them. Holy fuck the Darach is a badass tho. Just a shame she made the Alphas look like little bitches, they turned out to be quite shit in the end really. The Demon Wolf himself finally shifted, and man WHAT A BADASS! Overall it was a great finale, and I can't wait until January! |
Watching season 2 of Perception, I missed this show so much!

So many feels on episode 2, T_T Natalie is here to stay, mixed feelings on that, I love her, but Daniel lost something too... So many feels. Oh and there were Stormtroopers in the episode, they were surprisingly useful. :lol |
3 and 4 same show, the former was a very interesting episode about cognitive blindness, the latter was ok, funny but not particulary outstanding.
|
Watching Educating Yorkshire...
I do not have words to describe this show. Is that a good or bad thing? |
I just finished the second episode of Sleepy Hollow. It's still holding my interest for the most part but, for me, the doughnut tax outrage was the best bit. :D
Witchcraft playing on the car radio was a bit much, though. Also a tad over the top, and which I forgot to mention, was Abbie's sister's Sarah Connor routine lifted liberally from T2. |
It's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. time!
|
I had forgotten to say this: Season 2 of Perception generally solid, it plays it's cards safe but if you like the format it presents it's very enjoyable, second to last episode felt very forced, but the last one did manage to turn things around.

I just finished the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot. It was pretty enjoyable, but I think they were trying a bit too hard to tie it into the MCU. Hopefully that will settle out as the series goes on and it finds its own identity. They aren't exactly subtle about the Coulson thing, either, are they? It's nice to see Ron Glass on TV again, though, and I will always have nothing but love for the amazing Ming Na. In all, despite the usual pilot episode issues, I liked it and look forward to seeing where it goes.

Just putting it out there for people watching Shield, the UK gets it 3 days after you so if you're going to do episode discussion in here PLEASE make sure to spoiler tag your posts.
If you guys want to discuss the episodes without putting walls of spoiler tags in feel free to make a separate thread, but since this is a general TV thread I'm gonna be a little annoyed if I walk in on any spoilers inadvertently. (This wasn't aimed at anyone btw, I've had this post in mind for a few days :lol) |
So Im catching AOSHEILD on ABCs website-
So what is Maria and the doctor dude meaning when they say "He can never know" after Coulson leaves? Coulson is friggin awesome, he tries to make a joke, but it fails, like me! Dont touch Lola... XD This Rising Tide chick is cute. Im really liking the way this is tying into the MCU. Reminders and little talk about New York and the Avengers. "Cosplay girls crowding around Stark Tower"...... Dear lord that was an awesome comment. I can see this Sky chick becoming part of the group. Coulson using the truth serum on his own guy... XD Holy shit! Extremis is apperantly not just in IM3. Oh the two tech people, Im getting a Doctor meets Flynn McCallister feel from them, that also a cool comment about Hermoine from the girl. So they made a serum for the extremis, so does this mean they are the ones who helped Pepper? Lola isnt just an old car? Hell no its not! That gun they used in the last part looked to futuristic or Chitari looking. Hmm goes back to the "alien tech combining with our stuff." I think Im gonna love this show! Did I mention Colbie Smulders is hot as hell? |
Watching Chopped, and the Baskets are all Leftovers. And there was lasagna in the first round. And people were like What the heck?! It's not that hard. Take out of the noodles, use the Lasanga insides on fresh Pizza dough and make a Lasagna Pizza with some fresh cheese.

I'm flipping between Full House and TNA IMPACT.

Watched S.H.I.E.L.D last night... Not sure how I feel about it. On the one hand I liked the more subtle humour and the nods to comics ( journey into mystery, with great power comes... Etc.) but at the same time it felt rushed, unfocused and seemed to be filmed kind of odd. Like the opening sequence seemed to noticeably (at least to me) switch from real world to a TV set... And what was with the random glowy stuff all over the place/Hill's face?
Still it was okay, and it's got time to find its feet yet, but for the record I feel that whilst Marvel undoubtably owns the big screen, DC for the time being seem to working the small screen better with Arrow. But we shall see. |
So we just watched the first episode and first, I need to rant. I watched it On Demand so I don't have to deal with ****ING COMMERCIALS and what do I get? ****ING COMMERCIALS THAT CANNOT EVEN BE FAST FORWARDED THROUGH!!! I might as well just download the show so I don't have to deal with them because there were too many ****ing commercials and too many ****ing breaks in the show!!!!
Now that I got that out of the way, it was pretty good for a first episode. I don't like the idea that Colson's death was faked (even though they never really showed him dead in the movie), but whatever. I did like how it related back to Iron Man 3 no matter how much I dislike that movie, and I did like the jokes about Thor being a god and such, so it has my interest. I'd say it is on par with Arrow's first episode last year, but I'm going to remain skeptical for a bit. I'm hoping we get to see some actual super heroes though, both from the movies and others from the Marvel universe. The dialog was funny and it had some good moments. However, I have no idea who any of these characters are and they really did not give me a reason to care for them. Like what is so special about the lady in the cubicle they brought to pilot the plane? Who are the scientist couple that seem to be wannabe Wasp and Ant Man? I hope we actually get background on these guys. Overall, I liked it, but I might wait for a few episodes to be out so I can watch them in one sitting. |

Caught the first two bits of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. tonight, and it was surprisingly a lot better than I had expected. I can grow with this team and I look forward to seeing what they'll do next.

So... they're making a new version of Thunderbirds...
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/t...ew-series.html It has Parker... I'm going to wait and see before I say anymore, but with Parker... Woot :D |
Argh, missed last night's episode of Shield because of an exam. Need to find a way to watch it now...
