I'm looking forward to Freeza's new form. Knowing Akira Toriyama, he should come up with something that new and cool then doing a color swap of Coola's 5th form. Toriyama knows how to surprise his fan base.

I still have a fundamental issue with the premise as Frieza is simply not a viable threat anymore. Yeah I hope they have some sort of excuse for why he's suddenly stronger (probably related to his revival), but I'll still have a hard time buying it I'm sure.

I would imagine he will have god powers similar to Goku and maybe wish to be immortal with the Dragon Balls as the second wish.

I honestly don't think it'll be played straight. Yes, it seems dramatic, but Goku not appearing as a Super Saiyan in the trailer makes me doubt he's actually trying.

It could be that Goku in his base form because his base form is much stronger now since he has god powers. Toriyama mention in a recent interview that Goku realized that mastering his normal state and Super Saiyan would raise his level more and sap less strength. So that he probaly not going to use SSj2 and SSj3 again anytime soon.

I know that sounds rather interesting initially, but that statement literally eliminates any tension for fights involving Goku at this point (Unless Freeza is Beerus or Whis in a Freeza suit).
I'm still going to watch the movie, but knowing that his base and normal Super Saiyan states are so strong now, it's hard to care.

Honestly, I hope Vegeta is the one who gets to defeat Freeza in this movie.

Just got done watching the livestream of Dragonball Xenoverse and watching someone do a let's play of Dragonball Online....the stories match. Xenoverse is basically a console version of Dragonball Online, and I can't wait to get it now.

Gohan is shown going SSj in the trailer. In Battle of Gods, he can go SSj and Mystic. The whole Mystic power up that he got up from Elder Kaioshin is really confusing since Elder Kaioshin, interviews and the data books never stated if the power up is a limited time thing. Gohan going SSj after the Buu saga always seem to cause bitching with the online Dragon Ball fandom.

It was just supposed to be a natural upgrade but as it clearly showed, it was not really all that powerful. Gohan was beaten by Boo in like two chapters.

Anyway, for those who have missed it, Piccolo says that Freeza is more powerful now and Freeza also states that he now has a new form.

True, but Gohan got cocky thinking he was more powerful but never actually displayed it at all. He was pretty much on an even playing field with Boo.

Akira Toriyama wanted Gohan to kill Buu but things didn't go out as plan. I like Super Buu's other forms but Kid Buu felt like that they were pushing it. I like Buuhan as my favorite form of Buu and his battle with Vegito was fun to watch/read.

At the time before battle of gods Akira stated gohan was most powerful non fused character in the manga and vegito is most post powerful fusion character

Last time I check Akira Toriyama never stated that Gohan was the strongest non-fused character. That was just another old fan rumor that has been on the web for decades.

Well seeing as how they have no females, and they can spit out eggs to reproduce, that is obvious. Bulma makes that comment about how boring it would be to be Namekian.

DBZ Bardock - It is a decent origin story even though it kind of messes up the continuity established in the show. Unfortunately, Bardock just really isn't that interesting of a character and the shown down with Freeza is lackluster. Overall, I'll give it a 6/10.

DBZ The History of Trunks - Meh, this one is quite boring and needlessly takes a 15 page manga chapter and stretches it out to 48 minutes. Why? Because that is the Dragon Ball way. How many Saiyans does it take a change a light bulb? Only one, but it takes 26 episodes to do so. Anyway, there is very little reason to care about Gohan aside from him having the name Gohan and we know he is Goku's son. There is no character development from anyone outside of Trunks, and even that is minimal at best. I give it a 4/10.

The only thing that I like about History of Trunks was that he became SSj after the death of Gohan which work out very well to me. In the manga, Future Turnks was already SSj from the start.

The Bardock TV special to me was enjoyable but I do enjoy DB- better since we get the chance to see the life style of Planet Vegeta in the manga for the first time. Episode of Bardock was garbage and felt like terrible fan fiction. Bardock became SSj over some kid that he never cared about and he can become SSj despite Vegeta who was stronger then him during the Freeza saga was unable to :rolleyes. Episode of Bardock is one of the worst animated movies and specials next to Lord Slug, Bio Broly, DBZ Movie 10 and Super 13 in my opinion.

Looks like Super 17 is getting an OVA in the Dragon Ball Xenoverse game.

Oh god why? I thought Super 17 was one of the worst things in GT. His character was beyond terrible and stupid in my opinion. Super 17 has no personality to him and has no motivation.

The bardock farther of goku special is a good anime origin story for the anime only due to the fact the manga no has it one chapter 0 that feature goku mother gine and bardock in it along the Jaco the galatic police man

I always hated the Super 17 saga. I thought the saga was stupid and unoriginal. The whole idea felt like a bad fan fiction since you have Dr. Myuu and Gero making a super powerful version of 17 in Hell. The idea of fusing two #17's into one and making them stronger then Buu or Cell sounds really stupid. I wish they did their own original cyborg in Hell then making a super powerful version #17. Also I hated the idea of villains escaping from Hell since it been done before in Fusion Reborn and the team up episode of Cell & Freeza was terrible in my opinion. The saga has a lot of bad plot holes that make my head hurt.

I consider the Super 17 saga and the Garlic Jr saga to be the worst sagas in the anime in my opinion. The only thing that I liked about Super 17 was design. His design is one of my favorite villain designs in the series.

Hilariously, I found Super 17 to be what convinced me to keep watching GT after wanting to chew my own face off after Baby/Bebi/However it's spelled.
I can understand how it can be dull, but I guess the general idea was what kept me interested and enjoyed the saga.
