Now I've actually watched Dairanger, I think Kou is a much better character than Tommy, and since it'll cost me more and be harder to attain, this nostalgia packaging is largely worthless for me.

Tommy was pretty awesome as the Green Ranger - well the evil one. He's never been awesome again.

I like Tommy, but I was never one of those "TOMMY IS THE GREATEST RANGER EVER!" people.

I like Tommy too, but he's been a victim to the fact that he's appeared in pretty much every one of the bad seasons of Power Rangers.

Yes. The JPN release of KibaRanger will have a little chest symbol accessory for the AkibaWhite ranger thing, thats it.

The blades switch so it can be holstered.

Not insulting anybody or anything, but I find it puzzling that so many people don't seem to instantly get the purpose of the two blades. That's, like, Figuarts' MO. Multiples of weapons representing different stages of use.

I guess it's a cheap way to pad their stuff as well, for characters like Kou known for a single weapon.

They could've been trolly and thrown in his skateboard :lol

And an accessory hand that allows you to reanact all the time Kou grabbed Lin's boobs.

They could have burned down the internet by including an alternate head of Tommy Oliver.

And if they ever release Rin, include a head that has a shocked expression.

How does one have a shocked expression when your head is in a helmet? Or go you mean a head that looks like Natsuki Takahashi?

The original DX Byakkoshinken toy could also extend its blade, apparently, so I'm not sure if that's the only reason or if it did extend and shorten and it was just never focussed on so nobody noticed it.

In fact, rewatching a few scenes of Dairanger, the blade being shortened as Kou and lengthened when Kiba Ranger is fighting definitely seems to be the case, it was just never pointed out.

One of the few roleplay toys from PR I've touched, so I'd actually have been pretty confused if this figure didn't have some way to replicate this. I really don't get why people are surprised... Like Split said, this is the kind of thing SHFs do.

I'm a huge White Ranger fan from back in the day, so very much looking forward to this -- especially having him posed next to Green Ranger on the shelf!

And like the Dragonranger/Green Ranger release, the Akibaranger parts mean less than nothing to me; I was unable to secure a Japanese release of Kiba Ranger so I am all-in and fully on-board for my US White Ranger figure.

My favorite ranger! Actually, I always thought White Ranger from MMPR is way too awesome than Kibaranger from Dairanger.

Kou wins for being an actually developed character with an actual storyline and a surprisingly successful and respectable child character, imo.

Also I can't stand Jason David Frank.

I dunno whether developed is the right word, I'm over half way through Dairanger now and outside of his introductory arc, he's done nothing. But then none of the Dairanger's are particularly developed. Kou is a good character nonetheless though, better than the White Ranger, nostalgia or not.

Kou is the better character story-wise no doubt, but has he had more impact on my tastes and hobbies? No way.

It's true, innit? I may hate MMPR, but it's like engrained...into my soul. I wouldn't be here today, if it wasn't for the likes of MMPR and even the likes of Masked Rider, Bettleborgs, VR Troopers and Knights of Tir Na Nog that all came out in my early childhood.

Exactly. I know who Kibaranger and appreciate him but that suit is always just going to be the guy I used to dress up as a kid and practically idolised. No source material is ever going to change that.

The Figure looks good and the packaging looks pretty fun like its Dairanger counterpart.

But alas I don't think I'll be able to buy him online anytime soon. Unless if its in a normal comic store though. ;-;

And considering they are two entirely separate franchises, you have no obligation to recognise the sentai at all anyway. No matter what the sentai fandom may claim at times.

You're still not up to his major plot-line, I don't think.

So far he has had two arcs, one where he became Kibaranger and got his own Beast. Then this one I'm currently on where everyone finds out his identity. Between these two arcs I think he has made like three appearances of cameo status.

Yeah, both he and Burai weren't really full team members outside of their focus arcs. I assume Kou's at school and stuff, while Burai had a plot point as to why he was never around.

But yeah, the arc where Kou gets the most development is later in the series.

It's a shame really, because Kou is a great character, and Kibaranger is really cool even if his powers are kinda sucky. I wish they had made better use of him.
