I knew it! We saw Hasse laid out on the ground, belt smoking with Zangetsu over him in the preview for this week! Very cool stuff.

The description in the scan says they are Yggdrasil lackeys. It also states that unlike the protagonists who use Sengoku Drivers, their belts are silver.

As for the Kurokage is a ninja or not debate, the correct answer is that he's based off the ashigaru, foot soldiers for samurai, warlords, etc. If he was a ninja he would not be carrying a polearm for starters. :)

We also see Jonouchi in the same pose. There's no reason to kill them right now, so they're probably just defeated and captured.

I know Gen Urobuchi is writing this, but isn't everyone jumping the gun a little bit on these deaths? Every week it's "so and so is gonna die next week." It's getting old and so far it has been a fruitless endeavor.
