I don't see the problem with it being an upgraded Q-Rex. To me, it does make sense, especially considering GozyuDrill actually does seem to be inspired by the Time-Force exclusive gigantic drill that the Silver Guardians built. In fact, saying the Silver Guardians rebuilt Q-Rex to include one of their own designs seems to be pretty ingenious and a welcome nod to (imo) the best Power Rangers series.

I see what you mean, the other two homages don't stand out as strong as the time trailing dinosaur does. Seeing MMPR was 20 years ago and PRTF was 13 years ago, kids now won't really catch that. Even though it has the same name, it doesn't need to be an upgrade. There are a hand full of Zords that have the same name.
IMO, I would have called it the Quantum Drill Megazord or QuantumThunder Megazord :P |

One thing I'm curious about is the second listing for the Ultimate Legendary Megazord, saying that the two combine. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't think the Gokaiger version combined, only swapped limbs? |

Super Megaforce renaming needed
Calling it the Q-Rex is a noticable homage to Time Force and does show that the crew still does pay attention, but only on a minimal level. To reuse this name could also be taken as a jab at the Disney era (Time Force was one of the last of the original Saban era while Dino Thunder was originally a Disney incarnation). To be honest, I had a different idea:
- Gojyu Drill: Rescue Rex Flyer - Gojyu Rex: Rescue Rex Fury - Gojyujin: Rescue Rex Fighter Okay, so why "Rescue Rex"? For one, notice what I think others have and you will see a little Rescue Bird/Livebird from L.R./GoGoV in the design. Also, this allows for an easy toy naming system. Call the large version "Deluxe Rescue Rex" and the varying modes can be like "Fury Mode" and "Fighter Mode". Time Force could easily have data files on previous Zords of Rangers past, so if one wanted an explanation, one could say that they incorporated some of the best designs into this one. Also, I would like to know if THEY COULD digitally remaster some of the old footage. If they do it like Disney did for MMPR 2010, then Providas/Trans-Warp Megazord could be seen briefly and that might give Bandai America ample reason to do another Legacy Zord (Remember, the Deluxe Providas was never available in America, only as a small playset version and a 5 inch Zord figure). |
coninustity.....in a nick era show? My god zachor..you shock me. Keep it up.

Good freaking lord, my brain hurts just from ready the damn comments on the first page xD. But seriously we now have spoliers to the second half of Super Megaforce's new arsenal of zords :).

The idea of it being passed down from my favourite Ranger ever gives me a renewed excitement for Super Megaforce.

I always thought GoJuuRex looked like the tyranosaurus zord with the drill tail from dragonzord added on, I mean it even has a fire breath attack like the tyranosaurus so it seemed pretty clear what series its homaging its just not homaging the "sixth" mecha from that series.

Quantum Ranger homage. Cool. Even if they're nixing the other two homages, I still hope they use the keys for the transformation.
