I don't think the problem is that the ratings dropped, but that the ratings rose during seasons based around high schools. It gives the false impression that the setting is what makes bank, and not just circumstance/good advertisement.

Considering the "success" of all the soulless tweencoms written by Dan Schneider (or as I call him, Chuck Lorre Lite) that Nick airs, PR might be sticking to High School.

Fuck you marketing trends.

I think it's the same issue that comes from companies funding projects, but they don't know why or what makes them popular.
The tween sitcom is popular for the romance that aren't love dodecahedrons (Seriously), not just because they occur in high school.

That's my dream Pr season. The closte we got was RPM or mabey lighspeed/ in space.

I wish the super megaforce had more of a pirate motif and had its own standalone season unlike meagforce. It would be cool seeing the rangers reduced to scrapers looking for something to hold their ground now that they have been properly defeated.
Also throw in post wartorn earth and rangers in hiding for X years in the time between the meagfore warstar invasion and the start of super mega.

Oh and make troy the long lost son of zordon/former phantom ranger. (would explain how weird he is around others and the weird loner period in the first few eps.)

That attrocity is the single reason why I cant take anything sentai seriously and anyone that rags on power rangers being bad can watch that video and eat a STHU cookie. That was beyond awful.

You mean aside from the off beat singing, the completely stupid premise, the terrible singing, the incredibly lame dance moves, or the ear grating singing?

I don't know how anyone can watch that and think it's supposed to be taken seriously. ;)

You're close, it was the previous film -- Gingaman vs Megaranger -- which was using all of the Balban costumes when Lost Galaxy began production. Hence we start off with Scorpius, Trakeena, and Furio, and then, once the suits are available, we get the Gingaman characters introduced (save Shelinda of course).

This was and remains a huge disappointment to me, being as I really, really dig Captain Zahab as a bad guy. At least he did get a little bit of a chance to shine near the end. Still, it's all relative -- I like the other villains as well, so in the end it works out alright, I think.

Another sentai item which never made it to PR but I was hoping would is the Demon Hunter Zeek costume from GoGoV. When the shuttle pilot and Kelsey's "friend," Nancy , was introduced using the logical GoGoV footage, I assumed she would eventually don the armor at some point. I figured she would take up the mantle late in the season, same as Mike had done as Magna Defender. Alas, it was not meant to be. And again, as we got Ryan and the whole Titanium Ranger storyline instead, it ended out working out well once more.

more of captain mutiny in LG would have been fantastic. I want to know why it took so long for those costumes to become available for Lost Galaxy(and in fact, why did they call the show that?)

I am not sure, but I have always speculated that it was a move to introduce the characters one at a time and not just dump a new set of villains into the show all at once. It generally went that way, because after Furio, we got Treacheron, then Hexuba, then Deviot, then Villamax (and Kegler), and finally Mutiny and Barbarax. But I don't know that for a fact. (I think that is the order, now I don't remember if Hexuba showed up before Deviot or not.)

And the Lost Galaxy, I always thought it was a purposeful nod to "ginga" being the Japanese word for Galaxy.

The DaiRanger suits. If Saban really felt attached to the ZyuRanger suits, they could have made the Dairanger suits be direct upgrades instead of replacements (like the Jungle Master and Mystic Legend upgrades of their respective seasons). They could do the usual morph sequence ("Tyrannozord Power!" "Tricerazord Power!" etc.) then show whoever was the red ranger at the time (Rocky?) morphing into Tyranno Ranger, then a shout of "Thunder Mode!" and the Tyranno Ranger suit morphing into the Ryu Ranger suit, then cut to a shot of the Dairanger roll call. That way they could take advantade of the Dairanger footage and still show the connection to the season 1 suits.

The DaiRanger suits should have been power ups that the Power Rangers should have used in battle. Using the suits would have also been easier to use Gorma Emperor XV footage then creating an original villain.

True...but that means we wouldn't have gotten the awesomeness of Zedd.
