I'm confused, isn't it relevant to why the henshin devices may be changed? It's not like this thread is derailing into another annoying discussion about "waifus" and stuff like that, it is important to what will be changed, as guns are treated differently in kids shows here then in Japan, it hasn't become a political discussion from what I'm reading.

And I totally never noticed Necrolai and Vancuria looked different, despite having seen every episode of both series. That's kinda cool that they went and made the effort to do that, while still keeping her looking awesome. The more you know!

There were a few scenes in Mystic Force where they didn't censor Necrolai as much as they might've wanted. If you know what I mean.

I still think that their best bet is to make everyone a Morpher like Gold's. Just a simple hand device that you insert the battery into. Mold it right and you can sell one for each ranger and make bonzobucks.

Speaking of toys. I wonder how the Dinos will work as Zord Builder. They all connected beneath Gabutyra's shoulders, they didn't become the entire arm. Untless the head and tail of Gabu will be removable.. Then it could work.

And while we're on editing Lady Candi's gimp mask, it's more or less censoring Mele's bug-eyed Chameleon boobs: more-or-less innocent except for this one area that we'd draw a lot of fire for.

And that's assuming that the guys at the FCC or whoever looks over the Sentai footage for stuff you can't show on American kids shows even realized Candi came out of Willy Wonka's S&M bar.

I think it's more that guns and bullets are a more political hot button issue in this day and age than basic censorship of stuff. We don't have heated debates over Rangers not kicking monsters in the head (at least not ones I'm aware of).

I don't think they'll change the Gaburevolver. It's more of a blaster then anything.The reason most toy/roleplay guns get the orange ends are because they look realistic.This is basically a dino head that shoots out of its nose that were talking about here.

That and it's a dual purpose thing.It's their morpher but also their blaster.I can't see Saban spending money on coming up with not only a fresh design for their morpher,but also the blaster as well.Just stick with the Gaburevolver,it's not gonna be mistaken for an actual revolver.That's like saying we can't use the Galleon Buster because it looks too much like a shotgun.

I would debate with you, but Sentai but a stop to the discussion so I'll say I think you're missing the point and coming at this from YOUR perspective when you should be thinking of the wider one.

I really don't think Candelilla looks like shes has a gimp mask, nor do I think that's the intention of the design. I think it'll stay as is if Candelilla is used.

Comparing pics of Vancuria and Necrolai, I can definitely see why they felt the need to change it, but I think Candelilla is safe.

The Gokaigers are ONE HUNDRED PERCENT UNMISSIBLE PIRATES. But that OBVIOUS GIMP MASK ON HER FACE doesn't look like a gimp mask. This forum sometimes, man.

Yes, the Gokaigers are obviously pirates, because you have to ignore a freaking lot, including they're costumes, symbols, weapons, mecha, the giant flag, etc. throughout the series to pretend they're not.

However, I don't see any dark implication with Candelilla's design unless you look hard into it. I sure as hell didn't see it as a gimp mask design through the series until reading this thread, I never even noticed the zipper until just that second. If Saban is able to gloss over the theme of an entire series I'm sure they can ignore something that may be considered offensive if you look into it, assuming they DO notice it and make that connection.

You ignore the zips if you want. I'll be surprised if Saban does.

Yeah, I edited my post just then, I do see the zip on the side of her face, but it took me being told about it and then having to get a close on image to notice it. Seems unlikely to me that Saban would bother.

It's one of the first things I noticed, and fodder for the soccer mums to complain about. They'll complain regardless, but they don't want them to actually have a point.

This should be okay. Both because we had Spirit Rangers already - which is what I assumed they were reference to in Kyoryuger - but also because America doesn't seem to mind ghosts despite their ramifications.

I remember when I first watched Danny Phantom and exclaimed 'isn't it weird that nearly everyone in this show is dead?' and they looked at me like I was a ghost.

While the marketing story is a vast difference between Kyoryuger or Go-Busters, potential is still there if Saban's people shape-up. The "bounty hunter" story is what makes one think. Remember, Enter and Escape (and maybe even Messiah) had physical, in-costume incarnations which could easily be transported over. And also, didn't Go-Busters have like Bugzords which were regular fodder for the Buster Machines (can anyone say "MMPR Season 2 Editing V.2"). Plus, they could easily use scenery from Go-Busters here (shots of buildings and the like). Others have suggested something else, which is that the batteries could be used to harness the power of the prisms, which seems likely unless something new comes up. The "prism" thing seems rather too good for Saban's crew, but just because it's too far-fetched for them doesn't mean someone with even half a brain can't win out in terms of creativity. Again, I would like to see more MMPR and Dino Thunder references out of this. Where did Dino Gems originate? Why does Ninjor, and legendary Ninja Master, forge coins based on dinosaurs? The Kyoryuger/Abaranger/Zyuranger teamup (with Go-Busters) could easily and lovingly be transplanted here. But no before someone gives us another "Clash" movie special with Red Buster and Go-Buster Ace, then the debate over what will be used can be softened.

Well I didn't get very far in Kyoryuger but it seems she turns out to be pretty relevant to the plot? So I couldn't imagine them taking her out all together, but I'd also be surprised if they reshot her stuff to incorporate a new costume. So I'm not sure what they're going to do.

I mean Saban isn't again shooting suited characterrs, (megaforce villian that hypnotized the boys) so I bet they will reshoot her with a different costume. (Also apparently Metallice? I haven't seen geseiger so I can't tell the stockk footage other than the damn JAPANESE on the ground. That seriously pissed me off to no end.)

I don't think they'll change the costume. I think they'll just hope everyone remains blissfully unaware by airing 9 episodes, then taking a 10 month break, then airing the remaining 9 along with 2 holiday specials that double as clip shows.

But really, I doubt they'd change Candi's outfit. The gimp mask is the only overtly sexual portion, and it's not a large part of her suit.

With Vancuria you could just crop out the tits, and close ups on faces or hands or whatever wouldn't look out of place and you'd think nothing of it. But what are they gonna do, shoot Candi entirely from her eyes or from behind?

True, just don't show any close ups and you'll be fine. Though knowing how lazy Saban is, he'll superimpose it out of there. Man, RPM ruined me, now all I want is original footage.

Well, Candi is also fairly active. Perhaps if they keep her in motion they could keep the suit and only eagle eyed kids would catch it, if they would even know what it is.

Yeah I suppose that works, keep her in long shot and keep her moving and then maybe just redo the head portion of the suit for key close ups - or cut down her footage massively and primarily replace her with a human form and just save footage that is action focused to use.

Judging by the age of kids who I know watch PR these days... they're not going to understand, or care one bit. The people who do care however are PTA mums and the like. Ie, "It doesn't matter if my kid doesn't get whats wrong with it, its the moral of it dang it!"

Remember the stories behind Zedds heel face turn, and why they married off him and Rita? Parents. I know 5 year old me sure as hell didn't see what was wrong with him. All I knew was Zedd was a villain I wanted the rangers to beat. End of story.

So frankly, it's possible parents will complain about Candi and get her edited in some way. But we can't pretend it has anything to do with most kids.

This was always my point about the Revolvers. The kids wont see the problem, we wont see the problem, but soccer mums love to bitch and if they have a point, no matter how ridiculous a point it might be to us, then that that puts saban under unnecessary pressure which given their attitude to everything else, is surely something they'd want to avoid.
