It's kind of ironic that the point of Shin was to take Kamen Rider in a different direction, making it moot should it be remade.

The funny thing about Shin is that it is technically Heisei Rider number 1. Yes, Kuuga is still the first one since Kuuga was the first TV show to be made in Heisei, but given that the Heisei era began in 1989 Shin can be seen as Heisei Rider 1. Also this has brought me to this thought; Is the term Unidentified Lifeform no.4 indirectly referring Kuuga as Heisei Rider number 4? Your two cents please ladies and gents.

Technically, you're right, but Toei officially counts Shin as a Showa Rider.

Kuuga is No. 4 because he was the fourth Unidentified Lifeform to appear: 1 was the spider, 2 was Kuuga Growing Form, and 3 was the bat dude. It has nothing to do with the 90s movie guys.

Also another reason why toei class shin as yesei might be due to the fact ishimori was still alive and kamen rider yesei era CID not official start till kurgan in a show creation stand point

I don't think Ishinomori being alive would affect what gets classified as Showa or Heisei.

He created the show so it could do. I all way said any thing kamen rider he worked on is Showa up to J when passed its hesei in technically terms there hesei but if you take in the creator terms there Showa

I think it's more that Kamen Rider has been running uninterrupted now since 2000 and Toei refers to this era as the "Heisei era" of Kamen Rider to differentiate it from the 70s and 80s shows, which mostly aired during the Showa era. Yes, Shin, ZO, and J also debuted in the Heisei era (and most of Black RX aired after Hirohito's death and the end of the Showa period, too), but they aren't part of the series of shows that began with Kuuga. Honestly, they're pretty much just completely odd outliers that don't really fit in with either era of the franchise. But because Kuuga is the official start of the Heisei era, the 90s guys get grouped with the Showa Riders by default.

You know with all this Heisei vs Showa nonsense, I would love for Black/RX, J, Zo and Shin to be the ones who solve the conflict as they belong to both groups, but I doubt that will happen in the film.

Though to be honest I just want a film where Shin has a bigger role! It would be nice if they allowed him to become Kamen Rider Gaia or whatever he was meant to become. Man I'd at least love a manga adaptation.

I envision Black and RX being the Showa overachievers while Shin, ZO and J are just chilling in the corner on their smartphones waiting for the winning party to be decided.
They would end up having a picnic complete with sushi, chicken, beer and snacks under a cherry blossom tree.
