NOW LEAVING THE STATION! Prepare to leave the staion! |

And so the live stream begins! Get on people!
|
Let the ride begin!
|
Are villains kidnap kids? Damn.
|
The interior of that kid stealing train reminded me of the, er, Ghost Train, I think from Den-O's Final Countdown flick.
|
First time watching Superhero time live on a stream. I know minimal Japanese but damn is it entertaining with the chat comments on the side.
Live commentary on show we can't understand > all |
That was a fun ride :lol
|
I can only sum it like this
Kamen Rider Gaim = serious business Toqger = lol dun care |
So I only caught it about half way through, and the streaming site kept playing up but, what I saw... was a mixed bag.
To get it out of the way, I hate the gimmick. It makes battles feel cluttered and hard to follow, it isn't visually impressive and I don't see why they don't just pass their weapons around rather than full on transforming into...different colours. Maybe it'll make more sense in the sub, but without context I hated it. Everything else though, was pretty solid. It's pretty clear that some weapons are pretty useless, which is a shame considering how powerful some of the others are but as someone who watches a LOT more Kamen Rider than sentai it's refreshing to see such big, loud, polished action. Plus the general goofy gagness seems to have been toned down a LOT from Kyoryuger with a much bigger focus on fun. I appreciate that a lot. |
I'm still not sure what I just watched. I'm sort of over this "goofy sentai" phase.
|
I think I'm in love

crap. Missed the stream by 30 minutes. Aw well. Hopefully someone will have it up.
|
Surprisingly better than I expected. The mech still looks awful and Pink looks like a forty year old in pigtails but, based on first episodes alone, it's a heck of a lot more palatable than Kyoryuger was.
Edit: Also, except for the puppet thing, the conductor or whoever he is, acts very Owner like in his mannerisms (and his popping up out of nowhere). |
I have to say,I loved the pure goofiness of it.My favorite has to be ToQNigou. The sheer pointless need for him to do the evasive rolls had me cracking up everytime, and when they did the color switching which confused him by the end.
Also have to say the ToQ-oh is a lot better in suit form. Also am liking the pace of the show.Lots of energy, but not fast enough that it feels like it flies by. |
So uh yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah... I'll hold full judgment until I see it subbed but so far, I'm not impressed. In fact, I feel like I lost brain cells from it. It was cool to watch it at the same time it was airing in Japan, but man, this show is... odd, and not in a good way. I liked the music for the villains though, along with the designs (except for Greta, ewwwwwwwww), but not impressed. The henshin devices are probably the worst I have ever seen and TokkyuOh is just... well it looks like a giant box of crayons. I was hoping that would have changed when I saw it in motion, but that is not the case. So far, this show sucks.
|
Well that was...something.
I see we're going for the comedic style here. But that doesn't really bother me...until we get to some scenes (mostly Blue falling off the train and him running away in the fight). Thoughts on the rangers? Mio is awesome, Hikari is awesome, Tokatti is a little weird but he's cool. And then we come to Right and Kagura. Right is annoying as all hell and as much as this is going to get me some flack, I hate Kagura. I'm sorry I do. The henshin sequence was pretty cool. Though it is annoying how they say the ranger name twice. I get that it makes it realistic to how train stations announce things, but I think the audience will have caught their names the first time. The fight scene was really great. Showed off how well the whole swapping gimmick works, as well as their individual fighting styles. So good job on the fight. I LOVE the gattai sequence. It's just plain awesome to me. Not really a big fan of the mecha finished considering you don't see ToQ-Oh charging at the opponent, but it's not a big thing to gripe over. Final thought is good first episode, I'll make my final decision about story when the sub comes out. A few...things are meh and it's fairly bad that I find one ranger completely annoying and fully hate another, but all in all I enjoyed the episode. |

Can't say I'm optimistic for this show, but I will do what I did with Kyoryuger and at least check out the first ep once subbed. |
Right now the episode is only okay to me. I need the subs to make any final decision. All I can say for me is that I was entertained but also annoyed.
|
Really really really loved what I saw in this first Episode.
The action scenes are great and I love the humor the show has going on. Especially the visual humor with the special effects is right up my alley. Characters are cool so far but I withhold judgement about them once I see a better version of the episode (stream was lagging like hell on my end). The miniatures look freaking fantastic and what I liked the most is that the show feels really big in scope. The Set for the Shadow Line Base feels just massive. |
I love the use of train models and the CG. It felt like I was watching a show that wants to be akibaranger but hasto be a mainstream sentai.
Ill admit I got some chuckles for the jokes. I still dont get the colro change. I love the Henshin but that changer is too loud and reapetes too much. Still beyond hyped for the minipla though. Ill watch the next episode I hoping for a gaim like inrtoduction for the reshas. If we could have like 40 resha I would love it. Also the train by train battles were very good. I kinda like it but the main part of superhero time is still gaim. |
Flashman + Go-onger + Carranger + Goseiger + Gokaiger = Toqger
I LOVE IT! |
Finally got a chance to watch the opening credits. They certainly feel more cinematic than the usual Sentai openings. Reminded me a littles bit of Shinkengers opening credits.
|
That is true. The opening credits sequence is pretty darn amazing.
|
And if I am not completely mistaken the station Kagura is seen at is one I boarded a train during my time in Tokyo :lol
|
...Hello everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself and ask if you guys knew any sites to watch ToQger on. Really wanna watch it!
Feels great to actually writing a post, since I'm kinda shy. :) |
If you wait a couple of days it'll end up on Youtube.
|
Thank you for reply, :D
Kinda sucks though, but I guess I've gotta be patient... But thank you again, hope I can join in the conversation after I've watched it. |

bad audio but it's all here |
This was DAMN DAMN DAMN awesome!!
Exactly what I hoped for the energy of this show. Really fun, fast paced, and excited. |
Really tempted to just break my usual habits and watch the raw. :lol But I guess I can wait for the subs a bit longer.
