A character like Oren is borderline mid-2000 gritty thriller material: flamboyant ex-military cake-decorator beats up college kids to show true fighting, while sipping wine like a Bond villain.

Sure his looniness balances out his bloodthirst, maybe even overshadows it, but if you went the other way and had the censor level of an indy film, he'd be terifying.

I paid about three thousand yen for shipping four figures, which is pretty decent I feel as you pay like a thousand yen for just one when you include tax and all the extra bits and pieces.

Dread to think what customs will be like though.

Yeah it was a pretty big shock to my system at first. I went from spending like five quid on eBay for a Neca Army of Darkness figure (MUST OWN ALL THE ASH'S) to being proud of paying like forty pound for a Wizard figure that doesn't even keep connected... And I mean that is a CHEAP deal. You could easily spend like three times that and only get one extra figure out of it. Or the worst thing for me is when you find a pretty cheap/"normal priced" figure and end up having to pay as much, or more, for the shipping making the deal almost worthless.

I'm lucky to have a store nearby that keeps a regular supply of popular Figuarts at a decent price.

Hoping I'll be able to snag a Gaim there when it's officially released. Since I missed the preorder window. :(

I suppose I shouldn't be too upset that I'm paying such a high premium for these figures. We get to watch these shows for free -- so it feels kind of good to contribute to them on a financial level. (Or at least that's what I keep telling myself. :lol )

The only reason I didn't leap on the Figuarts is because I own the bulk of the AC line already, jumped in before they got scalped to Toon World.

I'm just thankful that figure doesn't have a Head Swap feature...(cartoon eyes or something...) that would get painful...but Gaim I think is going to get expensive for me. These Riders are like the Ryuki Riders, and yes, I want a full display...

I didn't bother preordering Gaim or Baron because I'm sure I can get them off of Mandarake for a decent price, if they never again return to BBTS or HLJ.

Bandai you have ALL of my hatred, for now until eternity. I know preorders open tomorrow, but I don't know that I'll be able to actually do so for quite some time (unless like, I don't get charged until September). If I can't order it tomorrow, do you think it'll sell out? Or what process do I have to go through to place an order (never had to deal with getting an exclusive). How much more am I going to have to expect to pay? Will I be able to place an order and not worry about paying until release? I need to know these things T_T

Nippon-Yasan has preorders open now. At N-Y you don't have to pay until right before the figure comes out. He seems to be running about ¥5400 at both places. N-Y may be a little more, but it's worth it for me not to have to deal with all the staying up late business.
