RPM was the last PR season. It always will be and there is no possible future of this beloved franchise. Akibaranger is more canon to Super Sentai than anything Neo-Saban is to the past 17 seasons of Power Rangers.

I would have greatly preferred Power Rangers to be a toy-only series like those BoA reps planned it to be back in 2010.

Uhg. I haven't even seen this episode yet and it sounds just as awful as the previous 4. Well, when I watch it on Hulu tomorrow I'll share thoughts. Likely negative ones.

Pretty good episode I think. They didn't shove the whole Samurai thing in our faces the whole time like the last episode with Wild Force. My only complaint is how often they change suits! Not sure if they did it this much in Gokaiger, but it's kinda annoying to see the Rangers act like Teenage girls on a Friday night...

Wasn't Dino Thunder during the Disney era? Why would Saban have been planning something when they didn't have the franchise? No offense, but I think people are kind of reaching to defend Saban at this point.

The Power Rangers fandom is an interesting one. Other fandoms would be ripping apart the property owner right now. But Power Rangers? There's a ton of white-knighting on behalf of Saban right now. I think if you're a Power Rangers fan, and not in to Sentai or a Sentai fan, you have every right to be steamed at your anniversary season. Mostly because it's not like they filmed new footage of these old suits, they just chose not to edit them out of the adaption, and haven't given any explanation to their existence.

That picture "defends" the use of the Sentai powers seen thus far, but the second they go and throw in a suit/series that isn't given a nod in some Dino Thunder or SPD flashback, this entire "SABAN IS JUST FOLLOWING ITS OWN CONTINUITY SEE!" argument is out the window.

I agree. Although, this complicates things since the fan-made Power Rangers season I was planning was designed to fit into Power Rangers continuity if it was official, but now with Flashman and Maskman appearing, and a possible Liveman and Fiveman appearance, I have to do an entire rewrite..... but that's just me.

On a brighter note, we ARE getting the RPM Gold/ Silver Ranger in Super Megaforce :D

100% aggrey productions need to be criticized even if you generally love this thing, because without criticism the people behind the production will never learn the mistakes they're making and just assume everything is going great because no one is calling out on theme. Also the sad thing is that I know I'm gonna continue to watch this show just out of curiosity to see if it can get better plus I do believe in Saban as a production company because they have made some great stuff they just need to find there grove again.

Now seeing the Sentai footage I don't care for much at all. Why? Because like Hassan said before when we were kids and watched PR it would excite us, and that's what Power Rangers Super Megaforce is to kids right now, like what MMPR TF NS was to us.

I mean have some of you guys seen the little kid playing with the Samurai toys?!? He knew the phrases and everything.

So at the end of the day, should we really scream our heads off on seeing sentai only rangers? No! Why? Because if Rider did this most of you guys would be like "It's a nod!"

When I was a kid and watched shows, they generally explained things. New things suddenly appearing in a franchise didn't just do so for no reason. Kids aren't stupid, as Saban seems to think they are.

What's the point of being a passive fan and just accepting whatever crap is thrown at you? It can be better. We KNOW it can be better. Why accept the least amount of effort version when even Saban has done better in the past?

You raise a good point. Kids wouldn't care regardless would they? They just wanna see cool super hero and robot action! If they cut all unmorphed scenes ad had twenty minutes of rangers fighting monsters, kids would probably still love it.

And y'know...if they put a little bit more effort into it, make it make more sense, explain a couple things...it'd still have cool super hero and robot action, so kids wouldn't care one bit!

So all in all...yeah we can want it to be better Kids would enjoy it regardless.

Yeah, but even that isn't the same thing. Decade wasn't turning into Riders that had never been seen in the franchise before. If he'd started turning into characters from, say, Bima, then it'd be more comparable.

You know, I was JUST about to make a post damning Saban for leaving footage like that in, but you know what? I don't have to. I think the clip in question speaks for itself.

Yup my thought put into better words basically, we want it to be better, but in the end just enjoy it for what it is, a kids franchise.

Now people could make the Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, or even Last airbender comparisons but in the end what you've got is what you've got, even Dragon Ball Z was a bit sketchy at times.

I don't care if they used the Sentai stuff as long if they stick with Zyuranger - Gokaiger most of the time. I would imagine kids are like "Who are these Power Rangers? I can't find them on Netflix or Hulu". Kids these days have better access to the Internet then we did when we were younger. This could have more people find out about Super Sentai.

One thing nobody mentioned about the episode is that Ackdos Gill gets mentioned in this episode, meaning we may get to see him in Super Megaforce.

Why WOULDN'T we see Ackdos Gill? Vekar dies five episodes before the finale, so it would make no sense to exclude him.

Anyway, this episode just...confused me at points. Mainly with Flashman and Maskman. My reaction can pretty much be summed up with one simple word. They tried to distract me with the first pre-Zyu change by throwing in Dino Thunder Yellow, but I was just thinking "No, hold on, you need to go back and explain that" the whole time.

It was nice to see a past ranger return for a brief cameo (too brief, if you ask me) and the "Legendary Samurai Megazord". (eventhoughtheyshouldn'thavejustrandomlycalledit'sswingingswordattacka"swordfish slash"), but other than that, this episode wasn't really up to snuff with the Wild Force Episode.

OK, but point being is Kickback said in the Super Megaforce speculation thread that “The Emperor” wouldn't show in Super Megaforce and I said he would be and that Vrak might return when he does show up so point to me.

That...why...but...Okay, WHY wouldn't he show up? They have a chance to whore out every single ranger costume in one big awesome action scene with him around, what would be the point in skipping him?

Also, I can think of ONE reason why they might be including the Pre-Zyu suits. I'm not making any excuses for Saban because they way they introduced them is complete garbage, but this is just my theory.

They're gonna use the footage from the Black Cross battle that featured every main mecha (and the planes from Go-Ranger and JAKQ) in a huge battle. The rangers will get their spandex covered asses handed to them (Or three if Robo Knight returns by that point, with two rangers piloting Gosei Great in the Megaforce suit and the other three piloting the Legendary Megazord, or maybe it's the Megaforce key's "greater power" here, I dunno...), Gosei chimes in and says "oh you now all of those new powers you've been unlocking, well GIANT ROBOTS, BITCHES" and then the Power Rangers and "New Power" mechs will show up and stuff because they are such good friends or whatever.
