Yup. The intention with Hibiki was to create a rider show unlike any other. The creators were quoted as saying they wanted it to be the Amazon of the Heisei era.

When the project initially started, Toei had just scrapped plans to make a Ninja Araashi reboot, which would have meant no rider for the year. But that entire project was scrapped in favor of starting over from scratch with Hibiki. And so all the love and attention of the staff was poured into creating this surreal rider show unlike any other before it, and honestly since. He's intentionally very different.

But don't ever believe the false rumors that it was not intended to be a rider from the beginning. It was 100% supposed to be a rider series from the outset. The confusion comes from the pre-production of an entirely unrelated show (the Arashi reboot) that never took off.

Toei planned a henshin Ninja Arashi Reboot for the 8 am time slot for the year 2005 so much is true.

But they scrapped it and started planning for Kamen Rider Hibiki instead. hibiki was always supposed to be a Rider show from the first day of planning.

Well that explains why Arashi shows up in an SIC Hero saga story.

And its still extremely ironic that they did Kamen Rider instead because they though it would sell better and then the Hibiki toy sales were really bad :lol

Since I'm gonna end up pre-ordering Leangle & Hibiki from BBTS I'm gonna end up getting Leangle in August & Hibiki in September unless they setup the Hibiki figuarts like the Gaim ones and don't give Bluefin permission to distribute them a month after the Japanese & Hong Kong release.

Bandai is not going to give bike to Hibiki... :(

I don't think it'll be hard to find a 1/12th scale Harley Davidson for him to ride.

In fact it'll probably cheaper to go third party then hoping for an official one.

Would Tamashii even have that license?

Hibikis Bike is a Honda Valkyrie Rune and not a Harley Davidson.

So so so so so so god damned fucking excited for Hibiki. I know Bravo was supposed to be my last figuart...but Hibiki was the exception, if he got made I was going to have to own him. One of my all time favorite rider suits, characters, and shows. It looks so freaking beautiful. So glad he's not an exclusive too. I honestly don't think I've been this excited for a figuart release..ever hahaha. The closest to it is probably Bravo, but that was something that we knew was coming sooner rather than later. Hibiki means I can round out my set of favorite riders/main riders from my favorite seasons, and he finishes that off with style. That purple is absolutely gorgeous. I cannot wait to see what all he comes with. Given the price, he's gotta have more than just some extra hands and his ongeki..right?

Either way, OMFG they're doing Hibiki!

Also surprised at the Hibiki love in here. I kinda thought me and Switch were the only real big fans of the season on here.

Are you sure Den-O? I had always read that Hibiki started out as a new manga series Ishinomori was getting ready to start called Onigeki Hibiki when he had died and then Toei decided to turn the entire concept and idea into Kamen Rider Hibiki.

I'm sure people can appreciate things even if they're not diehard fans.

I have put off Hibiki for a while, yet I adore the suits, and greatly appreciate it's intent. I will buy as many as I can to show my support.

100% sure. The rumors of it having not been a rider are completely false. Again, the confusion comes from the proposed Ninja Arashi reboot which was scrapped in favor of continuing Kamen Rider. Hibiki was built from the ground up after that, and was intended to be a rider. Now I don't know if some Ishinimori manga was influential in the project, but it was definitely always meant to be a Kamen Rider show.

The Onigeki Hibiki story made by Ishinomori is what influenced the actual story of Kamen Rider Hibiki so that plus the scrapped project are what caused the confusion of this, I watched EZ Rider's review of the show & he did bring up that the Onigeki Hibiki story written by Ishinomori was the main influence of the entire show & added bits of the scrapped project Henshin Ninja Arashi reboot were also added in there I guess.

since hibiki is a mass release, is amazon gonna stock it like other mass release riders?

That depends on if Bluefin gets the OK to distribute him.

I hope so cause that would save on import fee's and shipping, but if not he will be mine. I have loved his suit ever since seeing it. hibiki is one of my favorite parts of decade. I have been wanting to watch his uniqueness for a long time. I just love his look and concept so much. his ring is one of my favorite wizard rings. his design is up there with amazon for me.

^I highly recommend checking the show out then. It really was something different, in all the right ways. It's my second favorite season probably, right after Ryuki and Gaim, probably tied with W and Fourze.

Hibiki is definitely going to get a purchase. Not sure when just because I still have A LOT more main Riders I still need to pick up.

Don't know how to feel about Shin-Zangetsu. I prefer normal Zangetsu, like I think most people do, and I do think with all of the blatant backstabbing going on in the series, Takatora is going to be forced to revert back to regular Zangetsu. But I can't see myself skipping out on the other Energy Riders (especially Duke) so it'd look odd if he's not there.

Renewal Kabuto has to happen at some point. And so does Leangle. I still need to pick up Garren, but him costing about $75-80 in places is preventing me from making that purchase too hastily. I'll probably pick up Chalice relatively soon after he comes out.
