Saban Brands attitude really does stink. When you think that Gokaiger is celebrating thirty five years worth of heroes, it absolutely stinks that anything before Samurai is to Saban this weird no man's land until we get to MMPR.

And you know what, maybe he's right, maybe long time watchers - like myself - did get to Samurai and give up on the franchise. I have never seen Samurai, Super Samurai, I wish I hadn't seen Megaforce and I've seen like three of the Super Megaforce episodes. So maybe the only people still watching this are the small children who didn't realise how utterly shit Samurai is. And if that is the case, of course they won't remember anything else.

What makes it worse is that they said before it started "This season is for the fans! We put as much money as we possibly could into this!" Looking at how things turned out...it was obviously a lie.

And perhaps the greatest irony of all, is despite Saban's attempts to cough over the top of the Disney era, the majority of the zords and changes done throughout the show so far...are from Disney seasons? So the fact that Saban Brands can be so childish about this is just appalling.

As you watch Gokaiger, you'll learn that all of Gokai-Oh's power ups are almost exclusively Disney-era PR seasons. You've got: Gaoranger (Wild Force), Dekaranger (SPD), Hurricanger (Ninja Storm), Go-Onger (RPM), Shinkenger (Samurai), and the only one not Disney-era is from Goranger, so that one isn't even a PR season at all. The only mech to have anything significant from the Saban-era is Gokai Silver's mech who has: Abaranger (Dino Thunder), Zyuranger (MMPR), and Timeranger (Time Force).

It's gonna be interesting to see Saban work around that one...or not, as the case usually seems to be.

Well...the GoRanger's one is a jetpack, essentially, so they can just say "We got this awesome jetpack!" and that one first appears in the 199 movie. I don't remember them using it much after that.

Oh yeah like Troy's line, what was it? "I worked out how to make the Megazord" or whatever.

EDIT: Looking at the wiki, they get more power ups in movies, and are only used as finishers, but the only ones that is from a series that got adapted by Saban are Goseiger and GoGo Five.

I meant visually. I mean when a huge dragon pops out of the chest of the robot it's a little hard to make it vague but looking at that design that could be from anyone. I wouldn't be surprised if they called it 'MMPR mode' or some shit.

Definitely. With Gokaiger you don't even need to know all the history to enjoy it. I've only seen a couple of other sentai seasons myself, outside of Gokaiger, as I'm more of a PR guy. They do a good enough job of walking you through it and if you watched PR you will recognize most of the suits anyway. I'm sure once we get more of the past Rangers showing up Super Megaforce will put more effort in. I'm hoping they do the Legend War well since they've set it since episode one of Megaforce.

I'm still holding out that there will be an explanation for the new powers at least in the last episode. Maybe it will tie into why the past rangers just vanish at the end of every tribute episode. Maybe Tommy has a hand in all this when the new powers were teased in Dino Thunder. But Saban does seem to be really lazy. The most blatant example are the morphing sequences. They could have redone the morphing sequences to SPD to the American version, but no.Instead they used the sentai morph sequence that isn't even close to the American version. They just cut and pasted almost everything from the sentai. When they morphed into MMPR and Lost Galaxy in Samurai Surprise, they could have done a team lightning bolt morph for MMPR and a team galaxy morph sequence too. When they morphed into Samurai rangers too! They literally could have used the old morphing sequences and photoshopped the gokaiger suits on the characters during the morphing, but they couldn't even do that! Obviously they'll use the sentai time force morphing sequence, the sentai RPM morphing sequence, the sentai OO morphing sequence and the sentai Lost Galaxy morphing sequence, which are all VERY DIFFERENT from the PR versions. Again, I'm still holding out for an explanation on the new powers though.

Yeah I had no problem with that, because they were both the same. I won't have any problems with the In Space morphing sequence because both it and Megaranger were practically the same too. At least for the eventual In Space morph, I hope they use the same sound effects and "Morphing Complete" bar on the bottom like in In Space.

Same goes for Zeo/ Ohranger. Their transformation was basically the same as well.
