i love for mai to become a rider and squash the MICCHY grape out of him.

Honestly, I'm kinda with Michhy on the topic of telling Mai what's going on. The absolute best outcome of her phenominally stupid 'tell everyone publicly' plan is that no one believes her. At worst, she could have started riots and pretty much played right into Yygdrasil's culling of the population. Anyone without a Driver is pretty much useless in this situation, and telling Mai will only lead to misery and death. It's a stupid move on Kota's part. To paraphrase Agent K from Men in Black: A person is smart. People, as a group, are stupid.
Not that the rest of Micchy's action here are justified, but the boy's clearly been going off the rails of mental stability ever since he got his first taste of being in control. Too bad he's too sneaky about it for anyone who could help him to notice. |
Micchy has become an even darker Sayaka.
|
Yep, Micchy's losing it (relatively speaking) and I see him just moving to a full on in the open enemy in 5 episodes at this rate. Baron Lemon is cool, just makes me more excited for AC Duke.
|
Episode was awesome! :lol
I liked Baron energy arms a lot more than I thought. Baron really needed a power boost, and his fight scene was pretty darn cool. Is it me, or is it every time Marika and Gaim fight it's always a blast to watch? Gaim is the uncontested most powerful Rider right now, he just doesn't have any allies. And also, who could talk about this episode without Micchy? It's saying something when Kaito has become a far more sympathetic character than he is, and I wasn't even on the Micchy hatewagon. :lol |

Kouta could've just stopped at him killing Yuya and the fruits turning people into Invess. |

But letting her know about the part she can't do anything about? When she isn't smart enough to figure out she can't help, and will almost certainly do something stupid to get people killed, is definitly a bad idea. And if Micchy had let her go ahead with her announcement, it probably would have put her at the top of Yygdrasil's hit list. And unless Kouta's willing to spend all his time guarding her and the other Beat Riders, there's absolutly nothing that can stop and handfull if Kurokage troopers (and/or Sid or Yoko) from taking them out. |
Honestly, Kouta did the right thing telling her.
Everyone has been lying and keeping things from Mai to protect her, to keep her ignorant. That's unfair. Kouta should've told her, and let her decide what to do. She's not a pawn, or a infant, she's a person and deserves to know. She's old enough to make her own decisions and doesn't need to be protected from the truth. If she messes up with what she knows, that's on her, but Kouta shouldn't have to babysit and lie to her. Tell her and talk to her about it. Plus the scene makes it look like it just sort of spilled out. I don't think he wanted to tell her everything, but he did, and he should have. Narratively speaking, it's long overdue. Her blissful carefree ignorance was getting grating and painful. Kouta's had the weight of killing his friend on his shoulders and the knowledge that the whole city is a testing ground, and she's just dancing around. She needed to find out before the audience began to resent her for it. |
Yes, by bringing Mai and the Beat Riders into the fold it'll give them a bit more relevance as the plot unfolds. Pretty well handled, in my opinion.

So has anyone found out the cypher for the Overlord language that Aesir said they did? Really lame that they won't release it for those of us that actually want to know what is being said, so we're free to choose whether or not we want to know or not.
Anyways, been a good few weeks. Haven't been super active in the discussions lately (curse you Dark Souls II taking up my free time), but things are really heating up..and we're still only at the halfway mark! |
I wonder what happened to those lock seeds after the Invess attack?

Well this was a pretty darn good episode this week.
I want Baron next episode to kill Micchy, have Takatora not know about it,,find out and get revenge. Seeing Mai put some sense into that boy was good, I will admit. Seeing new Baron, as well as seeing Ichigo again! So yeah, I'm excited for next week, and this made me want to get more toys. |
Now this is more like it. Having Kaito well aware of his role as a mere test subject, only so that he can use that to gain advantages like the Genesis Driver, certainly adds more to him. Not a whole lot, but it finally feels like they have an idea of what to do with him now.

http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps35572739.gif Micchy doesn't have the grapes to actually stand up to Kouta, so he's just gonna shoot him in the back. Nice work there slappy. And I have to agree. Finally telling Mai was the best thing possible. Too bad next week seems like we're gonna have to have some sort of weird bromance moment with the Doctor and Takatora. But there will be Oren. Oh yes....there will be Oren. Also, I am totally for team MinaKai (That's Minato and Kaito) over KaiMai (Kaito and Mai). They're way cuter (and deadlier) of a couple together. Go Juicing! |

Was it ever really a pairing?
I thought it was just, you know, one person trying to be nice to the other? Does every man and women who talk to eachother have to be a couple? |
Wait, her name is Chucky? Why did somebody name her Chucky?!
Anyways pretty nice episode. And I'll be honest, I'm slowly starting to dislike Michhy. |

Or it could just be the fact that she's a peach, and he's a banana. :lolol |
I've gotta say this episode was great. Although I'm still disappointed at how Mr. MUH STRENGTH was able to Match Deemushu, since from the way the Overlords were hyped up, you'd think they'd be to Energy Riders what Energy Riders are to Armored Riders, I.E., they make them look like mooks.

Summary of the episode: Looks like they got the revelation about Yuuya's death out of the way. Mai, you fucking idiot! Why are you telling people about this Helheim end of the world stuff? Did you not think about this before you called a rally. I actually was rooting for Micchy doing something, granted, I'd rather not have an Invess swarm stop the rally but that did the trick. Congratulations Gaim, you almost got me rooting for Micchy again. When Micchy was yelling at Kouta, that was some Masato Kusaka levels of intimidation I was getting. LOL at Mai's attempt at a slap, her facial expression just looked so out of place for such a serious moment. You know, if the Energy Rider suits were modular, I would have loved to see the genesis driver get Faiz levels of belt swapping. But alas. Baron Lemon Energy is a badass, what with backwards Sonic Arrow shooting and all of those cool jumps and what not. Also cool of him to have a new transformation pose for the Genesis driver transformation(I have to love his Blade style hand pointing gesture). It was cool to see Deemushu learn Japanese and give active fight dialog with Kaito. Who the hell is this Lord Roshu guy? Good to know there's still some depth in the undiscovered plot. Also, called it with the Overlords having a higher purpose. I thought the fruit was supposed to protect the Rider while transforming, so Micchy just shot Kouta in the back? |

Also: Gaim switching to Kachidoki saved him from Malika's Finisher in this episode. I assume the actual fruit is what gives the armor and strength capabilities. Pre-Arms is still vulnerable, afterall: It's just a basic suit, perhaps an exoskeleton suit that has no purpose like Den-O's plat form. Baron tried to attack Gaim when he switched to Ichigo Arms the first time, so I assumed Pre-Arms is vulnerable when the fruit is switching. Normally it'll be fine, but Ryugen has a ranged weapon that shoots really fast grape shots. |
Probably my favorite episode thus far and Micchy is becoming one of my favorite characters in this show. No, wait! Hear me out!
At the very beginning of this show, Micchy mentioned that he liked being an Armored Rider because it gave him power and control over his destiny. Now, with recent events unraveling, he's starting to lose control over the situation again and, in turn, is also losing his cool. This time, however, he has the means to remove anything taking control out of his hands. He's easily the most complex character in this show and I think he's extremely well-written. I mean, on the surface, it does seem like his entire character arc revolves around Mai, but I think it goes deeper than that, because when you really think about it, Micchy has spent his entire life not getting what he wants and not having the means to get what he wants. Mai is probably just the straw that broke the camel's back. The thing I love about Gaim is that I feel like I have a new favorite character every week. Also, anybody notice Bravo in the previews? I thought he wasn't suppose to show up again for a while. And I don't count 'a while' as one episode. |
There needs to be an option for "Excellent - And Micchy's a Dick". Because Micchy's a dick. Wtf. Mai slaps you so you think the next logical step is "Hey, you know my best friend who I've been lying to all year but still defends me at every turn and loves me like a brother? Yea, I think I'm going to shoot him in the back!" ... Dick.
But since it was all part of Micchy's plan, I'm wondering if Peach lost because she lost or she lost because Micchy said "Hey, get your narrow butt kicked" so she did. |

The show seems to insinuate that Marika literally lost, which isn't surprising considering how powerful Kachidoki is. |

I definitely agree it's a jealousy. He has known all this time that Kouta was his rival for Mai's affections. The fact that she slapped him and took Kouta's side was what really peeled his grapes. Which does bring up a good point. When this series started, Kouta had given up dancing because he felt he needed to be a responsible individual. Is it possible it was because he was trying to build toward something more with Mai? |
Her losing fell a little to nicely into Micchy's plan for it not to have been part of his plan all along. Either he sent her there knowing she'd lose, or he told her to lose.

Goddamnit Gaim, I just finished Kabuto. I didn't need Takatora channeling Tsurugi to remind me of it :lol
And man, Micchy is pathetic. I'd find his turning a lot more interesting if it wasn't just a brat throwing all his toys out of the pram. Guess that's what happens when you give a kid power though, which is what the show is about anyway. He'll get what's coming to him eventually. |

Kaito is also misunderstood, but what would anyone do if they knew the world is ending in 10 years and strength is more valuable than ever to survive. not only that, the overlords hold the secret for even greater power, it's a race for power really. |
When this show is good, it's really fucking good.
Took me by surprise when Kouta just flat out told Mai in the cold open. I'm not complaining but I didn't expect him to just lay the cards on the table like that. It was really well acted too, it didn't need to be explicit in its intention, as the meaning between the words was clear enough through the performances. It kinda went in a more generic direction than I was expecting from the Butcher, but it does suddenly give Mai a purpose in the show again, which is nice. I also loved Zangetu's stuck up arrogance, I can't wait for him to eat his words when he finds out he's being played for a bitch by those he believes to be beneath him. Although I can't wait for any one to suffer more than Micchy, it's gotten beyond loving to hate now, now I really want to see him die an undignified, painful death. I don't think I've ever disliked a character, as much as I dislike Micchy - I mean I have hated characters more, but they are usually for critical and not personal reasons. My hatred for Micchy is purely personal, and I could watch Mai slap him for ten hours straight. I may not always agree with Kouta's ideology, but his heart is always in the right place and it really hurts me - I can't say that I've ever been that emotionally attached to a series, heh - that the poor guy gets taken through the ringer so bad because he dares trust people. Fuck you Micchy, fuuuuuuuuck yoooooou. Kaito may not be very strong, but he still gets all the bitches. And if you aren't fighting to acquire money, you're fighting to acquire bitches? Amirite?! *ducks and hides* Actionwise, it was nice to see Gaim not just immediately default to his Energy and Triumphant seeds. Even if, for in story reasons, being overrun with Invess is probably the best time to use those seeds but whatever. Speaking of Triumphant. Visually I really like it, and the weapon turntable thing is conceptually sorta neat. Especially given how the show started. But in practice the fights really lack a sense of flow and momentum when they have to keep stopping so Gaim can show off the newest toy. I wouldn't have minded if this was isolated to the opening use, but every time he uses it the whole episode comes to a grinding halt so it can do a closeup of the gun as he cuts the vinyl and changes the pitch. Yawn. WE FUCKING GET IT. Is it possible the show has found a way to be even more boring than the Energy Riders? So what is the dealio with Lemon Baron? He got a whole new Driver, it isn't a mix like Gaim's, so why has he still got the Baron base? Is it because he's still linked to the original driver? Either way, after the surprising boredom of Triumphant I couldn't quite believe myself when I found myself thinking a new Energy Rider is actually a breath of fresh air. Going with good overall as Micchy was still alive at the end. |

Yeah it was a really cool fight scene. Also its the first time in forever Kaito actually managed to score a victory all on his own :lol

I think it's safe to say we haven't seen the upper power limits of the Genesis Drivers yet. As for why Genesis Baron still has the same base suit (From a Watsonian point ofy view), it's not too hard to imagine Ryouma just copying some data from Kaito's Sengoku Driver. |
