You're misreading the thread - no one has said its widely hated. In fact it's the opposite - it's really popular but some people (myself included) don't see what the fuss is about.

I really dislike Dairanger. I do not hate it, but I didn't enjoy it either. I didn't like the writing and characters, but it seems to be surprisingly popular...

Also, though I do like Gokaiger, I easily get annoyed by people hyping it so much. It was great to have all the cameos, but the Gokaigers themselves had to suffer a lot because of all the changes in the script that were made to add the old characters. Besides, Marvelous was a nice character and I really like him, but imho, he wasn't the amazing badass Red everyone says he was.

Go-Onger was pretty cool, haven't seen it in two years though.

Timeranger. It was my first super sentai series, but most people tend to give more focus on Shinkenger, Dairanger, and Dekaranger imo. Even though Timeranger didn't have the best mecha, I liked it because it took the time to develop the characters through fillers that made me grow to care about them. Timeranger even got me to feel pity for how Gien came to be!

I don't think anyone hates Timeranger, though...

Even though I had only watched through Zyuranger at the time, the first few episodes of Dairanger made me not want to watch super sentai anymore. I'll probably try re-visiting it at some point, since the suits and mecha are some of my favorite designs in all of Sentai.

I have to agree. I've never met anybody who said they hated or even disliked Timeranger.

I think it's possibly the absolute worst sentai I've ever seen.

-Plain 1-dimensional characters with no growth or status quo change
-Villains of the garden varitey "lets hang around and plot" but don't do much else type
-Mecha designs that outside of Shinken Oh are so so at best
-An absolutely intolerable 6th ranger
-And frankly a pacing that makes the story as boring as it is long

Never again will I sit through that boring mess.

I don't really hate any Sentai, but I find it hard to get into watching Dairanger. I downloaded the entire series last June, and I'm only on episode 25.

On what grounds? There was no relevant post leading up to it.
Timeranger's tangential connection to Eric's relevancy is like saying I'm allowed to post a picture of Vergil from Devil May Cry and then declare "I felt it needed to be posted" despite it having no reason to do so beyond a tangential connection with no relevance.

I'd like to add Akibaranger to the list. Mostly because I've been on both sides of this show. I hated it and couldn't understand why people watched it, now I love it and can't understand why there are people who haven't seen it.

The joke being?

Sometimes I think it's funny that people don't like RPM, but like Go-Busters. Or maybe I'm just imagining things and those 2 groups of people are completely separate.

It saddens me that Saban is skipping Go-Busters. Because I really enjoyed RPM. And Go-Busters is pretty much RPM 2.

I actually liked Shinkenger a LOT. Like a lot of people my age it was one of my first sentai shows but I also agree with pretty much all your criticisms. I mean I liked the core team, and I thought the show gave a reason - even if it was bullshitty - to have the villains not do a whole lot, certainly more than say the Zangyack who apparently invade planets by sending one monster down at a time despite having like at thousand ships in orbit.

But I must agree that outside ShinkenOh the mecha isn't just soso for me, but some of the worst the franchise has to offer. The stacking in that show is truly disgusting. Genta may well be one of the worst Rangers of all time, not only was he an utterly terrible character but he was completely wrong for that show. And that middle slog of like pure filler for twenty episodes is why I've never gone back and rewatched it.

Somehow I can't get back into watching Jetman. I watched about 6 to 8 episodes of it but it didn't seem to click with me like other Sentai have. Maybe I just don't like the older sentai though I did watch all of Dairanger which was alright. I think I was more into the early 2000 sentai.

That he hates Eric, of course! Deep down inside, Sentai actually adores Eric! :D

One of those shows I couldnt get behind but anyone seems to adore is Dairanger. I can see why people would like it but I just couldnt enjoy anything in that show.

I dont really have one I "love" that anyone hates. I like Go-Busters, Goseiger and Go-Onger three shows most of the fandom dislikes but I would never say that I love those shows.

Yup, forgot to mention I also like Go-Busters and Go-Onger. Go-Busters had some major flaws, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. As for Go-Onger... I loved the comedy. I had such a good time watching it.

Thunderstrike is gonna hate me... I got bored of Go-busters after 16 episodes, and even then i only paid attention to the first 6. Normally i watch Sentai for the mecha, and whenever i saw the mecha fights from Go-busters, i cringed in fear and just turned it off. I dont know why, but the mecha designs were cool at first then i just started hating them.....


I also hate Goseiger because the characters were bland and boring. I couldnt stand alata acting like a pedophile half the time. Also, i HATE hyde and the doctor. Moune, Eri, and Agri were ok as was Goseiknight, but still.

Toqger....... ITs a trainwreck (pun intended XD) i hate the suits, i hate the mecha, i hate everything about this show EXCEPT the intro..... which reminds me of the suite life on deck for some reason.... The villains arent even redeemable in this show, i just hate this show

In the mean time, i have Abaranger, Kakuranger, And Dairanger to tide me over till next year

But seriously, that way of thinking is pretty damn weird. By that logic, most Sentai and Rider heroes would be pedophiles. Especially the Zyurangers or Hibiki...
