Getting back to the episode who would have thought there is something STRONGER than an Overlord in Good Ol' Helheim Forest: Roshuo, the white Overlord Invess!
Plus it might look like Kaito will alternate between the Genesis and Sengoku Drivers, but don't count on what little I saw to really set that in concrete. |
Who wants to bet that Ryoma wants the power of an Overlord for himself?
I'm guessing that Ryoma, Sid, and Yoko will forsake their humanity and become Overlords. |
Quote:
But Ryoma, Sid and Yoko don't seem to be a tightly knit group so perhaps only one or two of them will reach this point near the end. |
Back when Ryoma showed off those "organic" belt designs, my assumption originally was that he wanted to harness Inves power for humans. Considering we saw the overlords take possession of a Sengoku Driver this week, it's very possible that we could see an actual Inves driver come into existence.

Has any one watched other than me watched Aesir's new episode yet? because the overlord text is quite interesting when you know what they just reveled during the fight. =D

-To Split Up
He doesn't want to kill the Overlord, his big thing is trying to talk them out. Kachidoki suggest he wants to kill them upright, while he seems to be learning he can't to jack to them as just Orange. Your hatred of Jinba aside, it's a nice balanced middle form that isn't to strong that he might kill Dem by accident, but not weak enough that he's instantly knocked around. He isn't Blade, he doesn't have to start every fight in Kachidoki just because he has it. That would make him like Kaito, obsessed with flaunting his power. |

This week, on Everybody Loves Takatora...
You know, I think my favorite thing about Gaim just might be how hard it is to peg down the characters. It's never really clear who the heroes and villains are in this show, outside of the really obvious guys like Kouta and Sid. I really love seeing the allegiances constantly shifting and relationships readjusting. Also, fuck yeah, Kaito. I knew he wouldn't let Micchy get away with such a cowardly attack. |

Kachidoki's DJ gun has a machine gun setting. Flicking a switch is quicker than pulling back a fake bowstring. Quote:

Gaim makes it very easy to take the flags seriously. They're basically batons withe fabric. Hardly absurd. Jinba's just really puffy. It's not even the jinba armour itself, it's the fact that the rest of the suit is the normal form-fitting, low-armoured shape. Kachidoki would have the same problem, except the skirt armour fixes that problem and fills out the rest of the shape. Quote:
Never seen that before. How exactly do you tell if someone's not calm from text that's not all caps or littered with exclamations or anything? I'm actually watching Spider-man while I type this. |
I think speed is a factor in evaluating Jimba's value.
When Kachidoki made its debut, Kouta basically stood there in place and ate fire from dozens of Kurokage/Dandeliners. When Kachidoki fights, it appears to move slower than any other form that Kouta's used - even Suika can access a flight mode and a rolling melon mode. Jimba form, however, appears to be slower than Orange but more powerful, and faster than Kachidoki but less powerful. It's effectively "medium" between Orange and Kachidoki. I can't remember where, but some stats book out there said Jimba Lemon is supposed to provide strength, where as Cherry adds speed and Peach adds sonar. I agree that aesthetically, the Jimba armor is far less pleasing than regular Orange or Kachidoki. . . but it still looks better than Pineapple to me. |

And the problem is, if the plot called for a middle-ground warrior, that'd be one thing. But Jinba Lemon has yet to achieve anything Kachidoki could not. It may not be fast, but again, it has a machine gun. Can even Jinba Cherry outrun hundreds of speeding bullets? Ultimate the problem is the show has not convinced me of Jinba's continued use. It could, if it wanted, keep the armour effective. But it hasn't. |

As Option Zero has said, and I have too, it's still faster than Kachidoki on foot, because like you said Kachi is a Tank, while being powerful enough to withstand more damage than his normal forms. You just saying its useless and using a "possible" excuse that Urobuchi made up the extra powers isn't proof, until Toei states otherwise like they did with Baron's new form. Still useful against Sid, was a nice bit of "take that" against Marika, and shows he willing to still talk, but isn't at the "Ubermensch" mode he seems to be in whenever he's in Kachidoki (destory Scaler system, wrecking Sid's Watermelons, basically taunting Marika). What was stupid is that he used neither when he got ambushed by Sid in this episode, but that's typical rider foolishness (unless it's Blade, he abused King form because it was a plot point). The Flags looking cool is a rather subjective point. Sure, I like the looks of the flags too, as a pretty little decoration to his suit, but I don't seem to have this hatred for Jinba you do despite liking the look of the flags. This isn't Halo though, so as funny as it was to see Kurokages beaten with them, Kouta should just stick to using the gun/musou blade combo as his main melee weapon in that form. I can't take any fight seriously if he's pulling those out. There, I'm acting subjective too. Them being "batons" against guys with spears makes it sound more silly, even with the DJ gun as his main. And besides, Jinba isn't lopsided like the actual energy riders, which is an instant bonus. |
Who has machine guns besides Kouta in today's episode that he'd need to outrun them? Unless it's Yggdrasil Tower again, or Kurokages on those silly flying bikes, he doesn't really fight anyone with a fast rate of fire (ignoring Micchy, because he doesn't know about him yet). Against who he's actually fighting, it did just fine.

I think it will lead to a personal struggle for him,and will ultimately decide his fate, but I believe he'll make the right choice and go along the lines of "He'll make his own power and prove he doesn't need the help" He's power hungry too,but he is different.Where as they'll do anything for power,Kaito is more of a "fight and earn it" type.He doesn't want to take an easy way out. |
can anyone share the link for the subs?

I loved this episode, I wish Kaito would've destroyed Micchy for everything he's caused. Oren was fantastic once again. Intriguing to see why Ryouma turned against Takatora in the beginning. Learning Takatora's back story and seeing him team with Kouta is why he is one of my favorite characters in this show, and I worry for him with what's coming.

Man, it's nice to see Takatora confirmed as an unambiguosly good guy Rider, and that all the questionable things he did before were only because he was lied to by Ryouma.
Also nice to see that Kouta still uses Jimba forms for when Kachidoki's 'just stand there' battle strategy is not advisable. Man, I know it's only been like four episodes but I am completly bored with Kachidoki and am eagerly awaiting Kiwami. Kachidoki was fun on it's first go, but since then it's been responible for the most unentertaining fight scenes I've ever seen from a Kamen Rider. |
And shit continues to get real. Very nice episode. It was quite lovely to see Takatora shift into being a sort of good guy.
|
I knew there was a reason for Takatora being my favourite character. Sexy shower scene! :lol
Seems redundant saying it every week now, but this was another brilliant episode. The more Zangetsu the better, so I'm really looking forward to where the story takes him next. I also got bored and decided to look up the Overlordese and translate it. Interesting indeed. EDIT: Took the tagged spoiler away, don't want to accidentally have this ruin it for anyone. |

They're not posting torrents of them with the Overlords translated? That's pretty lame. :/ The YouTube source I've been using posted 26 and 27 with them. Gonna go watch 27 now actually.

Then again, so far the Overlord's translated dialogue has been mostly canned phrases, not absurdly specific or spoilerish.
Not like saying "we humans" in English. (well, Japanese, but you know...) EDIT: Oh shit, Aesir didn't use the Overlord font when he said that, so I didn't realise that one word was translated. BTW, Kouta seriously needed an adult like twice this episode. Bravo is amazing. Just amazing. How it it that he can be utterly fucking silly, yet still kind of cool and a good character? Maybe because he's not one-track villain or isn't that prominent? I don't know, but I like him. Very, very clever way of adding another layer of utilitarian backstory to the driver by having it not only convert the energy of powerful lock seeds into armour, but even weaker ones can just be used as energy for the body. I've never seen Kamen Rider ever even hint at that kind of "exploit" of a belt's abilities. |
Wel another great episode.
I loved seeing more Shin Zangetsu, Bravo, and next week, DUKE!!! So seeing the reason why Ryomuma is lying to Takatora is okay. Now if I'm not mistaken the previews for next week loook like to have Takatora dying? And then having Micchy be like " Crap my brother died for the sake of humanity, and I'm here fighting for this girl like a stalker." |

Even from the beginning we're never quite made to believe Takatora is a bad guy, just one with an agenda.
So lets see....what did we get out of this episode? http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1398718513 For Sentai and ZeoRangerV, we got beefcake. http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1398718513 For me, we get the obvious. (Yeah, Kaito kicking Micchy around a little isn't even enough for the backstabbing little trog) http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1398718513 For Den-O, we get romance. http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1398718513 And for everyone else, we get balls. Well, rice balls that is. I love this series. It's won me over from OOO it's that good. Also, depending on where you look, there are subbed versions with the Overlord text in place. Personally, I don't feel the revelations are anything earth shattering. We all have an idea about who the Overlords are, and what their game is. I don't even think they spell it out as well as DJ Sagara does. And yes, I'm sure Jinba is more powerful, but Kachidoki sells more toys. And just like any good henshin sequence, even though we see it in 'slow motion', it doesn't actually take that long (see SS Gavan's overtly elaborate henshin sequence). We'll just pretend he's spinning the gun's wheel really really fast. |
For me it was every scene with Oren's arms clinging around Kouta.

Man, Michi getting his ass kicked by the now Energy Rider enhanced Baron immediately after shooting Kouta in the back.
If that isn't Karma, I don't know what is! |
I agree that there really should be a script with the Fruit Grongi translated, or they could have at least just had it written in Japanese but with English letters since that still acts as a cipher for most viewers and makes less work. Anyway, another great episode though I'm really worried for Takatora now. Also, is it just the internet getting to me or did Ryouma have a thing for Takatora and then got heartbroken? I do wish Bravo's part in the episode would have had some more development for him/having him learn about the Overlords but I did like how he knew not to eat the fruit because of survival training, that was a great little moment.

Despite the copious amounts of focus on Zangetsu, it was really Bravo that stole the show. I dunno, something about a comic relief character who actually has a very serious background is not all that original, but the use of the hints of the more serious stuff and the balance between the two halves of him is just spot on in this episode, I found. I wish we got more of him, honestly.
Zangetsu...didn't find as much of a harmony, for me. Although I enjoyed seeing him fight alongside Kouta, in an admittedly well done fight with that Overlord. The scenes of him nursing his scar in the shower, which lead into that flashback of him trying out the prototype of the prototype. God that was cheesy and played all too seriously to even be fun cheese. Honestly, if nothing else, I just ultimately wish he had been on screen more as he's had so few ultimately meaningful appearances in this show and so as epic as his turn was in this episode, this could have been a truly triumphant moment for the series if Takatora hadn't spent so long in the background. So ultimately I'm giving this a good. |
I'm still trying to figure out what "The Truth" is...
