The episode was intense, but I can't help but feel that the impact of Takatora's betrayal has been watered down by all the turns of events and Ryoma's minimal screen presence in the past few episodes. I wonder how they'll work that dynamic back in. I don't think it'll be easy to let go of being almost murdered and left for dead by ex colleagues.

This episode was just....wow! And the preview gave me goosebumps about next episode, especially Takatora's line at the end.

I get the feeling that Ryouma/Duke won't be the main final villain of the series, but will be the final opponent for Takatora and/or Kaito leaving Gaim to take on Roshuo one on one.

I love the little things that you learn about the series as a whole.

I love that Zangetsu Shin is, far and away, a representation of evil. As soon as Takatora chose to discard his Project Ark plan, he ends up being betrayed and losing the suit. Looking back, it's full of symbolism. He denounces his plans, admits Kouta (seen as the savior) is correct. Immediately after doing so, he is betrayed and loses the Melon Energy Lockseed and Genesis Driver.

Who picks it up?

Micchy. Who has become straight up evil now, making deals with the devil to save himself and those he thinks are worthy. And every time he uses the suit, he becomes more and more evil.

And now we have the final part of Takatora's arch - destroying the suit, thus forever destroying the evil he followed and believed in.

I LOVE THIS SHOW.

Everyone started on Hope and I kept looking for Wizard to show up "Someone call me?!" "No, no one called you. Go away."

So finally Kouta sees Micchy's BS and hopefully gets curbstomped the next episode. By Takatora and that beautiful Melon Arms.

This episode was okay to say the least. This revels has taken to long and my only interest for next week is the brawl.

The man is in complete and utter despair. His civilization is in ruins, his people are mockeries of what they once were, and his love is long dead. He doesn't know what to believe. Meanwhile, Ryug- I mean, Redyue comes along and tells him she can resurrect his queen by sacrificing however many humans. He doesn't really see us as a species at that point, just... fodder. Fuel. He only needs however many alive as Redyue tells him.

Of course in all likelihood Redyue is just selling him on snake oil and this either won't work in the first place, or it will somehow serve to weaken Roshuo immensely, but that's besides the point right now.

Man Kouta got graped hard this episode :lol

I just love how delusional Micchy has become. In his mind everything he did was for the greater good. All he did was just a necessary sacrifice to lead humanity into a new and brighter future.

I got a different take on that. Maybe I need to rewatch the episode to get straightened out, but it sort of seemed to me that he figured humanity was going down anyway and he might as well jettison the rest of it to save himself and those he felt worthy.

Thats the other part of it.

I was mainly referring to his talk with Kouta were he told him that everything would have been fine if Kouta would have had the guts to do the necessary sacrifices.
Like hm and the others killing Takatora wouldnt have happened if Kouta just joined Yggdrasil from the start. But since he didnt Micchy had to kill his own brother to secure a future for mankind.

The delusion thing is what I enjoy the most about Micchy as a villain; he really, really tries to be this amazing evil mastermind, but fails so spectacularly at it. There's that idea of a person being like a chessmaster - able to manipulate all of his friends and foes without having them realize that they're being played. Micchy wants to be like that, but he doesn't seem to realize that he's not the only one playing the game. He can plot and scheme all he wants, but he's constantly being confronted with better players (the Overlords) or people who just want to say "fuck this" and kick the board over (Kaito and Yoko). The only people he's ever managed to really play are the ones who trusted him before he started playing Sith Lord and Sid, who was a moron.

It was refreshing this week to see him realize that the game was never going to get away and start throwing a temper tantrum. Said tantrum is likely going to get him his ass handed to him (again, of course), but it was fun to see him keep trying to manipulate all of the pieces only to have them move right back out of his control immediately. :lol

Micchy: he's a bit shit at everything.

Oh man, what a cliffhanger. Micchy is so self-deluded and acts like a child, I can't wait for his inevitable comeuppance. I really wish that Takatora had intervened but it looks like we'll see plenty of that next week.

His immaturity and his willingness to sacrifice everything just to keep the people he likes happy is twisted because he took on too much suffering on himself, his intentions were initially good but the reality of the world was too much for him and turned him cynical and heartless. I guess he tried to be a hero but failed at that too, it's just sad how he never seem to succeeded in anything.

Next episode is Melon vs True melon. I expect Micchy to eventually kill Takatora in a cheap way, we'll see how it goes !

Another week, another great episode. Micchy continues to be a little shit that's enjoyable to watch. I also loved seeing the steaks being escalated once again and seeing Takatora wondering around the set of God Speed Love.

Kouta is such a doofus, I love him.

As much as it's nice to see a toku show reach a little further than abandoned warehouses and rock quarries if you don't have the budget to do something...don't do it. The action is getting better in this show but everything else, like the planetwide assault and the destruction left behind looked really REALLY bad like student film web series level of bad. Anyway this episode basically existed for the reveal at the end, so it was pretty meh for a lot of it but I'm really excited for next weeks episode.

I really, really like Micchy. I like that he feels like he's going crazy, but he's not quite there yet. I like that he's trying to control everything from the shadows, but he can't quite do it.
He's aspiring to be the Kingpin, and he's reaching as far as he can, but he just doesn't have the ability to do so. It's fun to watch, and I actually like his semi-logical approach to the entirety of the situation. Choosing to save some, and let the rest go, rather than try to save everyone and risk losing it all, but he's too blinded by his own (Crush? I dunno) to do it properly.
Micchy is awesome. I hope he survives~

Good episode

This show is super logical yet illogical for a Rider show at the same time. With Micchy's backstabbing and deception, its a very logical progression. And Kouta giving the reaction we expected from Yoko and Kaito's explaination of Micchy.

On the other hand, why Kouta doesn't go balls out Kiwami is beyond me. Someone is trying to kill you, I don't think you should hold back. Plus, your Kiami lockseed can't be stolen because you have protagonist armor.

Because that someone is a friend he only just found out had turned against him?
Kouta was not only in shock, but Micchy's entire speech before he transformed was about how dumb he thought Kouta holding onto hope was. Kouta, being predictable as always, held on to such hopes that Micchy was just misguided and that they could still work together and save everyone.

This. And the fight was like 10 seconds in before the episode ended? So whose to say what happens next. He could open up Kachidoki or Kiwami levels of whoop ass and be stopped by Takatora to let him put the bastard down 5 seconds into the next episode.

Micchy is in a weird spot for me. He's probably one of my favorite Riders ever but I can't put a finger on it. He's a coward, a liar and a wannabe mastermind, but much like Kusaka...I just like him. I think it's just him fascinating me as a character and me wanting to see just how far down the slope he goes.

Yeah, you and I talked about this earlier, and while I may despise Micchy. I too am interested in seeing where this character ends up.

Its the same way for me with the exceptuion that I absolutely dislike kusaka with a fiery passion :lol

Micchy in a way is Kusaka done right. The one problem I always had with Kusaka was that he never had real valid reasons to be such a gigantic asshole. he just was because that was the role Inoue had written for him. Micchy on the other hand has clear cut motivations why he is doing this. Speeches like the one he ave Kouta allow us to get a glimpse into his mind and see how he works and why he became such a monster.

I'd have to say it belongs to Hikawa from Agito, but Shinji's a close second.

Huh... Micchy in the first arc never did anything against Kouta. Even in the second one, although he started plotting behind his back, he still in the end helped him when everything was on the line (like vs Yoko).

It was only after Kouta told Mai about Yggdrazil and Helheim that Micchy turned against him and start his attempts to take him out. The only issue there is that they reused that whole "silent Zangetsu" bit too much.

Kouta's best friend, advocator of lying and hiding people from the truth, who goes missing for days on end during planet-wide invasions, who always conveniently insists on splitting up whenever shit gets real, who is always the first to point fingers and cast blame, who gets upset every time Kouta doesn't follow his orders.
