More points to touch on:

- I know a lot of people have given reasons or ways to go ahead and keep the "wings" on the Goseigers ... it won't happen. Even if they explain it as something else, it's going to scream "ANGELS" which screams "RELIGION" which screams "PREJUDICE SOMEHOW" in the eyes of over-zealous parents.
- If you wonder how they can adapt something that doesn't seem Western-friendly, they won't adapt it. Seriously. Just how it works. Is there a scene in Goseiger that you're not sure how they can bring it over without it being offensive? It won't be here. That's how it works. Get used to it.
- ....this show is still going to be a direct-translation for the most part, with all parts "angelic" cut out.
- Gosei Green either won't be included at all, or will have his backstory entirely changed.

Just the idea of angel PR is so cool though. Shame...

I'm really hoping that they do more changes to the story than just remove any angel references, but I'm not holding my breath after Samurai.

I don't know, we thought that the kanji in Shinkenger would be impossible to adapt and they seem to have worked around it with the whole "symbol power" aspect, sloppily executed as it may be.

I really don't mind a direct translation that is executed well, with good writing. Dialogue should be rephrased to be more natural in English, even if they say the same things as in Goseiger. In the end, if we get another Time Force style translation, that would be perfectly acceptable. I hope it's more original than that though.

And I specifically said "general BS&P." Never claimed otherwise.

Again, no one lost their brains over the many (many) angels on Digimon, a show which in its prime was substantially more popular than Power Ranger is now AND aimed at a younger audience AND on broadcast OTA TV and not cable.

Angels do not "SCREAM RELIGION" any more than demons, ghosts, or witches, all of which we have had on PR with no issue whatsoever. Angels are at the point now where they are just another type of mythological creature.

And really, when you get down to the nitty gritty, they can just call them "Guardian Angels," a term so generic that no one bats an eye at it's use.

And I don't think anyone on this thread was suggesting the addition of (more) violence, realistic guns, or swearing to PR.

Did Goseiger star 5 teenagers with attitudes?

Youre right about Digimon. Angemon, Angewomon, Devimon. And season 03, towards the end especailly, was very adult. Jeri vs the D-Reaper for example. And Leomon's Death.

I'm kind of torn. I'm excited to find out what they mean by a crazy second season, hoping RoboKnight really is a placeholder name, but I also enjoyed Goseiger so much I wouldn't mind them sticking to the script. Except they can't. Like Kickback said before they can't keep angels or wings without offending someone. So I'm very much looking forward to what they come up with, and the eventual Samurai/Megaforce Crossover. And it means, like I hoped, we're getting the "Super Goseiger" suits too. Loved those things.

Very hopeful about the toyline. I'm thinking they'll sell the Headers in sets, and each one will come with a little figure like the Samurai zords. Seaick will come with Mega Blue, Landick with Black, and so on. Also wondering how exactly they'll do Gosei Ground. Will we get a transformable Gosei Knight, and will the combination stay the same. One saving grace is these Zords wont have an on-screen Kanji Mode. Which means we won't get a Gigazord with two arms hanging off his ankles like some kind of toxic mutant.
Still no word yet on Datas though. You can't cut him out of the show because then you can't form Megaforce Gigazord, but somehow I doubt he'll talk either. Which again seems a shame. He's very Bumblebee Level Kid-Friendly.
All in all I'm looking forward to this.

Looks and sounds like this could be an interesting series. The uniforms are pretty cool looking. My favorite PR back in the day was the black ranger, so it's nice to see this show'll have a BPR too.
