Doesn't the tie in episode for the Gaim movie do the opposite, by harming the Movie's sucess. I mean, kids want to see the shiny new suits so if they see Mars in this episode, they might be content with that and move on.

This episode wasn't as painful as I thought it would be. The player cameos were a bit hamfisted, but I think it was supposed to be tongue in cheek. Given how little filler Gaim has had, this is forgivable.

I mean, I don't know the extent to which Mars is in this tie-in, but really, couldn't you say that about trailers for anything that would be appealing to kids?

Kids are going to want to see more if they like something.

This kind of reminds me when Den-O did a Movie tie in the same way (sort of). Also this was really filler, it was more of a delay in plot but with 3 filler episodes. Compared to Wizard the plot of Gaim is like a bullet train that made only a few stops, while Wizard needed to be poked with a stick to make sure the plot was even still alive

Given the nature of the other two promotional episodes, I wasn't expecting much, but the episode was a lot better than I thought. I did like that they at least tried to connect the episode to the rest of the series, even if it felt a bit forced at times.

Heavy sighing at phantom Takatora

Very fun episode highlighting Kaito, and I am definitely intrigued for the movie too. Also I am happy for all appearances for Knuckle and Bravo which was fun. I can't wait for the next episode it definitely feels exciting.

What Micchy THINKS happened is completely different from what might've actually happened.

Yes, I voted poor. Because after three weeks, or so, of having the World Cup shoved down my throat everywhere I went I'm done even pretending to care about Soccer. And these movie-tie-in episodes are old. The ToQger special was entertaining, Kikaider was fun to see, but this was just torture.

And I ended up fast forwarding through a lot of it just to see wtf happens next week which is all I give a damn about in the first damn place.

So Takatora survived, Huzzah! And we get to see Oren and his Merc buddies vs Takatora and the Kurokage troopers? Hells yes.

He's barely in it, doesn't use a shiny finishing move, and is basically just observing mainstream Gaim from the sidelines. No, they will not have had their fill from just watching that.

Can I just say what I know we're all thinking... Zack is a horrible goalie 3:)

If anything, this episode shows how awesome Kamen Riders playing soccer can be.

That part about the kurokages and oren pierre with the soldiers is from the movie not from the show :)

Man I loved this episode. It was a fun little stop form being so heavy into the story. I can't really see the problem who these tie in episodes. They've only happened three times, promote new material and be fun.

Now this episode wants to make me watch the film, when it's subbed in like a year.

That's three episodes the show could've used for more story.

This show's pacing has already been dropping, it doesn't need these useless interruptions killing the pace more.

"Legacy" meant nothing during the decade gap between Black RX and Kuuga, and "Legacy" meant nothing to gigantic flop that was Shin.
You would be surprised at how one bad decision can destroy a franchise, regardless of it's "Legacy."
Not helped that KR and SS have been on general declines in viewership.

You have Takatora falling into the water, Kouta rushing to him hoping he arrives before the brothers destroy each other, and... have some Soccer. I'm sorry, but that's idiotic.

Ok, but one episode in a series I feel is different than a movie that was way different than anything before it.

Three, three episodes.

I'm not saying one episode will ruin a series.
I'm just saying that a series/franchise having a multi year legacy won't protect it from getting cut if the higher ups keep making bad choices.
The worst problem that can happen to a 22 minute toy commercial? No one decides to watch it.

I stand by my rating of this, it was okay. I mean it kinda did nothing for the current plot, but it did help by focusing on Kaito more than we have been getting.

So? It's a great way to get kids to see these movies, and it's not like rider hasn't had filler before.

You seem to miss the main point.
It's not the filler's existence, it's the placement of it.

Cliffhanger ending on whether or not a main character died? Next episode is a movie ad.

^This. Damn it This. That's the exactly the damned problem and, if my memory works, that's what happened during Kikaider to.

Here's what I think: Will the target demographic really care? As far as I imagine, the majority of kids will just want to see their favorite riders fighting monsters and each other. As long as the action is good (I think it was excellent in this episode) nothing will change. On top of that, I personally doubt we'll get a solid answer to whether Takatora is really dead or not for another few episodes.

So just pretend that the show is on break. Because, really, it is.

This is my least-favorite episode so far, but it was entertaining.

I enjoyed the Kikaider episode, but watching this one now...maybe if I gave even the slightest damn about soccer I might have a tiny inkling of caring a little bit here but..well, it's freaking soccer. I think the only soccer related anything I like is Shaolin Soccer.

Okay, so I do respect how the show tried to tie this into the actual story and wasn't just full-on AU. And Kaito was pretty cool in this episode.

It was still stupid and pointless.

Pointless filler, complete waste of time. Especially because of the placement.

you know.. if sagara really wanted to help kaito keep up with kouta, woudn't it be better if he just gave him a new lockseed rather than sending him to an alternate universe. I mean he gave kouta the kachidoki lockseed why not do the same with kaito?

Because reasons.

But yeah, something I always hate is when the main character is the one that always gets the focus/upgrades. I know it is a major trope with..well pretty much all Japanese media like this (I was just reading a discussion about the different Digimon anime the other night where people mentioned how it's always the main character (or main couple of characters) that always end up with the biggest upgrades or being able to digivolve the furthest, and it gets to the point that it's basically all about them rather than the entire core group of characters).

He wasn't the one that sent him to the alternate world, though. It was the silver apple... guy. It was just coincidence that it happened whilst Sagara was trolling Kaito.

Loved it simply for the cleaner version of the Kiwami theme.

That dose bother me too, but in a show where they are limited on suits they can make (Gaim really pushing it) a season and only so many main line toys it does make sense the main character gets the biggest power up. I gust wished they used the Arms Change Line (which I love) a little better so other riders can get a big upgrade that comes with Gaim in some way that doesn't break the rules of the show, or at lest had the Drivers on pegs so one could switch the drivers of different riders like a Genesis Dirver with a Sengoku with out unscrewing the toy

This. Would have enjoyed the hell out of this episode, but going from probably the biggest event in this show thus far to 20 minute movie trailer is quite annoying.

I really like football anyway but I thought this was a legitimately good episode. Zenith grows on me a little more every episode, the special effects and action choreography ironically lend themselves much better to football than actual fights and there were some of the funniest moments in the whole series in here. Baron really is growing into a great character for me, just in how they play off his established character in comedy scenes.

Yes! When Kaito kicks the ball and completely misses, and then just doesn't say anything and tries to act like nobody saw it was pure comedy gold :lol

Especially with the triumphant 'come on!'
