I am absolutely loving Trideron's design:thumb: but I am still not completely sold on Drive Driver's design I need to see how it looks with suit first before I pass judgement.

While looking at the first picture with the Driver and the bracelet I think They are pulling a Rainbowman-vibe in this one.

From the words of the small car at the corner it says 'Shift Speed' (base form?), and 'Shift Up Flare' (car in flames). Too bad I can't read the words for the green one on the other page. If it is 'Shift Up Luna' in Green then it works exactly like Rainbowman's 'Dash' form changing.

I really hope they make cars for the 3 car themed Sentai. I just really like crossover gimmicks.

That makes sense actually. My guess would be, as huge as it is in Japan, that Technique/Technic will be some sort of drift style car. Speed sounds like a straight racer, probably the Tri, and Wild might be some sort of Rally.

Yeah me too. Rider needs more characters that arent Riders. I know the term Kamen Rider has lost its meaning a long time ago but I´m still incredibly happy everytime a villainous character is not marketed as a Kamen Rider.

I dunno, I think if any show could pull of the multiple Rider thing it could be this. We don't know a single thing about the show yet, but if it is about dudes racing super cars then in a Rider logic way it makes sense for each Driver to be a Rider. Racers need protective suits anyway but they could also explain it like "Only a Rider could handle a car like this". So multiple teams, each with their own Rider Racer, let's hope they shoot it like Rush.

Going by what people reported that were on Set the Show seems to go for more of a Police theme and the Rider(s) are part of a special law enforcement devision :)

Well seeing those toys, I don't know. I have to see his suit before I can start an opinion. Though I will say I'm not to terribly interested in the gimmick. The door gun is okay, and so is his steering wheel thing.

Though like Locke said this show would make the most sense to have multiple riders.

I'm not sure what to think just yet. None of the toys jump out at me like Gaim's or Fourze's did, but I'm sure they'll be a lot more appealing once I see the show. It's cool that they're going straight with the car theme though, instead of having something unrelated like flash drives or locks.

Yes. I don't remember the names, but the writer is new to Kamen Rider. He previously worked on some of the Yugioh series.

I must be almost the only guy who's NOT impressed at what we're seeing so far for KR Drive.

My main gripe is that everything appears to be TOO themed: car-themed suit, car-themed henshin belt, car-themed gun, car-themed sword. It just feels like too much; almost making it feel Sentai-ish (think along the lines of Go-Onger or ToQGer). So as it stands right now, it's unlikely that I'll buy any of the toys.

That being said, I'll still definitely watch the show to give it a chance; I was originally super-skeptical about our current fruit-samurai season, and as of now, I'd rank it within my favorite top 5, if not top 3, Heisei KR series in terms of story.

Why does it look like the ToQGer gimmick? Oh god, I must remain optimistic. REMAIN OPTIMISTIC!!

Oh definitely. And I still find the fruit-theme rather silly in Gaim, no matter how much I love the series.

But with Drive, it almost feels like they're going even further. For example, it's like in ToQGer, where the big mech's sword/gun is a railroad crossing bar. To me, that's a little excessive in terms of making things part of a theme.

I'm not super into cars. I mean, I like cool car designs and stuff, but they've just never been something I've really been all crazy about.

And it is an odd motif for Kamen Rider given the franchises tradition of using bikes.

It could turn out pretty cool though, but it really does seem to be going a bit overboard on the gimmick and theming.

After already having a Train Rider its not that odd really.

Adding to the roster, an oni, a vampire, a rocket, jewelry, and fruit.

Like, all those are things that have have physicality to them. W is a letter. It's four lines connected ina zig-zag. Yet it was awesome.

Den-O had a bike too. Maybe Drive will do like RedBuster and launch a bike from his car.

Also Riders have been kind of spotty about how much they even use their bikes. Wizard, W, Decade, they all constantly used their Rides in show. Both in costume and out. But shows like Gaim and Fourze barely used theirs. I don't think Gaim has used Sakura Hurricane in a good six or seven episodes. He's used the sunflower thing, yea, but not his official bike.

I'm all for using the idea of cars, and I love each one transforms into a shifter for his wrist. And that car, very Black RX, I love it. I agree it seems odd to use basically the same gimmick as ToQger but I still absolutely love it.

I think the point is though - and I'm not taking sides - the bike is part of Kamen Rider, it defines what Kamen Rider is. Yes modern Riders dont use their bikes much but the kick, the belt, the bike, the powers drawn from evil to defeat that evil these are all things that sum up every season of Rider without having to specify a name, this might sound like a bad thing but it's a recognised brand like the Nike tick.

If Rider starts using Wrist Changers and Cars then no matter how artificial the change, and shallow as it may sound to some, that isn't Rider to me - it's just a generic toku series.
