Any chance we will see the trademark will be release tomorrow? The trademarks for the next Super Sentai are usually shown off at the end of September.

Well the ToQger trademark was confirmed on September 25th 2014 so it's possible.

OK, I admit I get more excited for Kamen Rider Series since I'm more of a fan of modern KR series rather than modern Sentai Series, but I'm curious on what the next Sentai is going to be. Since I seriously doubt that it'll announce it this month (from what I can tell, Japanese Trademarks update every Thursday JST/Wednesday CST), I'm pretty sure if (I'll get to that later)/when they do announce what Sentai they're going to use next year, it's going to be in October (at the earliest). I don't get what's taking them so long, since i didn't see much rumors going around, I wonder if they're doing Sentai this year. I asked people on tumblr about this on my toku tumblr, with one reply being "I'm pretty sure Shinkenger was announced on October", I checked, and it appears the trademark was filed in July. I want answers, were there any Sentai series announced later than September? Do you think they're doing Sentai this year (It'd be a damned shame if they weren't since it's an ongoing 35+ year tradition)? What do you think taking them so long? Do you think the new series will start airing later than mid February?

Gorenger aired in 1975 and 1975 plus 40 is 2015 so next year is the 40th anniversary of Super Sentai.

Gorenger lasted two years, from '75 to '77.
While, from a yearly perspective, it would be the 40th anniversary, it'd only be the 39th series.
Part of the first post was also asking which they'd use as the 40th, since they get two opportunities.

Yeah I forgot about Sentai usually celebrating the anniversary by series and not actual years. my mind was more with Kamen Rider when I wrote that since with Rider they actually celebrate 45 years of Kamen Rider soon.

Yeah. Things can get a little off thanks to Gorenger being a hog and lasting an extra year :p

In a way Battle Fever J became Woody from the first Toy Story and Gorangers became Buzz Lightyear.

How would you build a sentai without a gimmick?
I'm not saying it's impossible, but a strike team to fight evil just seems like a played out concept for heroes in general, not just sentai.

So long as gimmicks drive the toylines and sell really really well they wont go away anytime soon.

Besides, gimmicks make things more interesting.

I was just glad the henshin device was not a spatula that made you tap dance while you flip a piece of dino meat high in the sky and then grab it with your mouth.

I haven't seen that movie (Only Harold and Kumar movie I saw was White Castle), but it does sound fun~

Makes you wonder why they haven't attempted it yet. :lol

Sometimes they're just not prepared to make that much money :p

They could team up with Fuji, splitting the cost, and tie the whole thing in with a new series of Iron Chef. :D
