That was kind of a mess.
The story is another past group resurrected, with a tag along kid thrown in, for a movie about Hesei vs Showa the conflict feels tacked on, the excuse is flimsy, and for the biggest part the fights against Badan are the main obstacles. On the other hand, the returning actors are fairly good, Shotaro is over the top but as likeable as ever, Takeshi is made of hotblood, Tsukasa... is himself, but Jin and Takumi steal the spotlight, I don't know how accurate their portrayal is since I haven't watched the original shows, but those two steal the show, their arc is the coolest one and the one that ties better into the death motif, it was easily the best part of the movie. But the rest feels slow, disjointed and incoherent, sure, Rider team-ups are cool, but if that isn't pakcaged with a good story it comes across as pointless and dissapointing. Also, the heck was with that ending!? The alternative didn't sound any better either. |

Also watching this really wants me to go watch Faiz now. Another thing I have a gripe about is that 15 lack of other rider arms... I know it must've been a budget reason but... the only different rider arm that we didn't get to see from the Gaim vs Wizard movie was Decade and Gaim himself... which guess was ok for Gaim to against himself... again....... Seriously would've love to see Kiva Arms or Den O arms just for kicks. |

Budget! Respect the budget! Yeah, newer ones would have been cool. |

i new Faiz was my fave hessei rider for a reason even though i havent seen his season i loved the motif and i loved what i saw in decade AU. seeing the original Faiz for the first time made me think he was awesome and bad ass so i got me to go to TV nihon and download the first 18 ep batch subbed so i can finally watch them.
|
Something I forgot to mention in my big reaction post: this movie did more cool tricks with the Gaim armor in 98 minutes than the series has in 40 episodes.

I laughed when he went all baby and nibbled off on 15head before Ichigo arms unfolded.

How much did they retcon with Faiz?

Plus, he's gotta show Micchy what the original Rider-douche king can do. |

Well... it's weird seeing a Gaim thing where Mitchy isn't being a massive douche... at least we have Kaixa for that though!
That was pretty good. Narutaki and Tsukasa continue to be entertaining characters to watch, and it's nice to see that the Showa riders can hold their own. Except for when the switch forms, as Fourze rocket states proved. I just have one problem- the sentai showing up at the end. Sure, it was nice for the ToQgers to show up to help, but why the hell was Daigo there? He showed up, used his dinosaur/train transformer to help save the day and then leave? Where were the other Kyoryugers? And Phillip? And the other secondary riders? Considering Accel isn't in Fuuto, I'm just going to say that they were saving the world from something else, with a better plan than the original Taisen's. And they were led by Oren. |

As for the movie... no real explanation... Algo pointed out that the W lockseed was already there from the beginning... Then a long time ago on the wiki I read that Philp was killed by the Showa riders which is to why Shotaro became Joker... So anything is up in the air right now. |
So I caught Imagination Station’s sub of the movie. I liked this quite a a bit, yeah the plot was dumb but it was better constructed than past All Rider team ups, hell it was even better than Super Sentai VS Kamen Rider.
It was good seeing the Riders that they brought back, this movie felt like one big family reunion and I liked that Decade basically played Nick Fury’s role, it felt fitting considering that his series is about traveling to different worlds and honestly? I know Decade has it’s decorators, but I felt that Tsukasa is far more likable in this film than he has been in the past, it feels like I’m finally beginning to get a grasp of whom the guy really is. I’m also impressed by Hiroshi Fujioka for a guy that must be in his late 80s, he looks like someone that could easily kick my ass, the dude’s still got it. I have a few nitpicks though: -I don’t get Rider 1s plan was at all. If he wanted to gather up all the Riders to take down Badam why not just do exactly that? I really hated how much the Showa Riders comes off as stuck up, elitist assholes in this. -This movie is actually a bit too action oriented, there really wasn’t much room for downtime. I loved the scene with Takumi and Jin interacting, because when they finally did fight each other it felt more bittersweet. -This film started to fall apart towards the end, the ToQgers weren’t needed at all and it was a shame that they were just thrown in there given how well Kouta interacted with Right in the Spring Break team up, Daigo’s appearance was also pretty random too. They feel pretty shoehorned and it just stinks of corporate meddling. -Speaking of not needed, the Gaim cast was another part of this movie I didn’t like...which is a bit strange to say considering that I love Gaim but much like the ToQgers...the Armored Riders weren’t really needed in this. Although, Kaito failing to catch a turtle was pretty good. I did like a few scenes though, specifically the one in the beginning because it really did feel like all out war. I really liked watching the Gaim VS Jumbo J fight because of how much it reminded me of Attack on Titan. Fifteen was pretty bad ass too, even if he did feel pretty overpowered. Also it kinda feels like Wizard should've had a bigger role in this film, given how much screen time he gets nearing the end... |
The number one gripe I have about this film is that... Tsusaka didn't even interact with Haruto. They were able to bring his actor in and out of suit... But he was only there when he got blocked by Faiz. I would've love to see how Tsusaka could convince Haruto to join up with the Heisei riders.

I still want a Den-O Ressha as a head unit. You hear that Bandai! I want one as a head, not feet damn it!

Oh, another gripe I had with this film that I forgot to mention…that's how the Heisei, Showa, and Gabutyra Ressha all came from out of no where.
Seriously, Ichigo and Fifteen literally pulls them out of their asses. |

So I finally got around to watching it and wasn't very thrilled. I mean when I hear Heisei vs Showa Kamen Rider War I'm hoping for a big brawl which we kind of got in the beginning (I wonder why that was shown so much in the advertisements?) but I know they have budgets and everything..however... Really wish they wrote this thing a bit smarter, the new lockseeds come out of nowhere and it's really distracting. I wish they added some plot point where the captured rider locks combine into the two new locks, at least it would explain why they can seemingly access any rider arms at will. And the flower bit...not sure what to think about that. |

And then the Showa Riders could make the valid claim that because of that desire the Heisei Riders provided Fifteen with this new power and caused Badan to get the upper hand. Then I don't know, the unity, or justice magic of the Showa Riders creates their own lockseed for Gaim to use at the end. So then alas, nothing need be magically pulled out of anyone's butts. |
I wanted to complain about how right of the bat I was annoyed with how off "Tendou" sounded...
But then the wannabe Gentaro showed up. >_< |
Is imagination station's sub of the movie good?

What's that I see in the distance?
Tsukasa being tolerable and not some douchebitch being explicitly evil for the sake of his Xanatos Gambit that everyone but the main character and audience knows? Never thought I'd see the day. Oh, what? They just moved that over onto Hongo? Well shit... Anyway, this movie was decent. This is probably the most I've ever wanted to watch Faiz, so kudos on that. Something I particularly liked was how the action turned out. The Showa Riders were all really nice to watch, being surprisingly flashy and cool. I particularly enjoyed watching their few transformation sequences. The fights were fun and, unlike Let's Go Kamen Rider, they didn't force everyone to stand back and do nothing while someone else handled the climax. It's rather odd that, despite the larger cast participating, it didn't feel as cluttered as Let's Go. Everyone felt like they contributed to the climax, and it made it far more enjoyable. Something this movie pulled off well was proving to me that Tsukasa can be likable without being a complete ass. I'm particularly shocked by the final interaction between him and Narutaki. They felt like actual friends (Or, acquaintances, rather), which I didn't anticipate (After 5 years of "DAM YOO!" *Teleports off* with no variation, seeing some change there was nice). Though I know little of Faiz or X, I found the moments between the two to be rather nice and touching. It brought a smile to my face, and a non-action scene in a KR crossover movie managing to do that is quite the Rarity. However, although there was enough good to consider re-watching, there were still many problems. Most notable of which was just how downright unlikable they made the Showa Riders (I guess all that assholishness from Decade had to go somewhere...). Even if it was all just a ruse for their end goal, the characters acted as if they were completely unaware, and made no sense at all (What was stopping Hongo from running around and asking for help?) The other issue was the Toqgers and Daigo. Not that they showed up (Rumor has it that if you say "Bureivu" in the mirror three times, Daigo will appear), but that they were kind of shoehorned in. Yeah, the ToQOh scene was funny, but it didn't hold much importance and just kind of seemed unconnected from the rest of the action. Also, Fifteen's actor kinda sucked. |
I absolutely loved this movie! It was great to see my favorites back. Tsukasa was done brilliantly that was the Decade I loved from the series, and much better than being a douche in the first Super Hero Taisen. I forget how much I love Tsukasa he is such a brilliant character. Yay! Takumi returned I just loved how much he had problems from after Faiz and that he felt so much like himself that he regressed to progress again, it was so amazing, I loved his interactions with Wizard, and X too. Keisuke was fantastic as well, as X is one of my favorite Showa riders it was great to see him be a Doctor now and how well he inspired people was amazing. It was nice to see Takatora back and Micchy as a good guy. I loved ZX too, man I loved this movie so much it was fantastic.

This movie is mostly terrible with a few good moments. It pulls the same BS "fooled you" plot twist that Superhero Taisen did except it's even more stupid here. Not only is there absolutely no reason for them to fight, but after the trick is revealed and the day is saved, they start fighting again. What a bunch of idiotic nonsense.
That said, in this sea of nonsense, there is a handful of good things. The Faiz subplot was pretty good. I wish it was the main plot. In fact I think this might have been where the movie started. Given the timing in Gaim's episode order, in which Kouta had just learned about Yuuya's death, a movie about past riders moving on after the death of family/friends is a fantastic idea. It's such a shame for this to be a subplot and wasted here. On both good and bad, the glorified cameos of Super Sentai. It was fun to have Momotaros combine with ToQ-Oh and I laughed when Daigo crashed the combining sequences. That said, the Super Sentai have no reason to be here. You could cut all of it and the dino thing they fight and nothing would change. Kaito chasing a turtle almost makes this damn movie worth it. Almost. Also, some of the fights are pretty good. My final thoughts are that this is a terrible movie with a good idea buried in it's subplots. It's the worst movie I've seen all year and another example of why Toei needs to scale these crossovers back. For a good crossover, watch the accompanying ToQger/Gaim TV special instead and don't even bother with this. PS If you want to see Rider 1 in action, go watch 3 episodes of the original series. They will be much better than this and Rider 1 won't being acting like an old jackass that keeps telling you how rough he had it back in his day. |
If you have seen the last two Taisen movies, then you already know the plot. Evil villains make a plot to destroy world, both sides of the good guys have to battle each other, one of these heroes is pretending to work for the villain, big lackluster fight appears, the end. That is pretty much this movie in a nut shell. And if you are wanting to see the big fight against the two eras of the riders, you might as well just skip to the 90 minute mark of the movie for one of the most unexciting battles in Toku history. Add on top that the big bad villain is actually taken out by the ToQGers and KyoryuRed while Kamen Rider 15 doesn't even use half of his fifteen rider abilities, this movie just flat out sucks. The only Heisei riders to get any sort of screen time are W, Gaim, Kabuto, 555, and of course, Decade, while the rest are excretionly mistreated here. If you are a Kuuga, Agito, Blade, OOO, or Ryuki fan, prepare for major disappointment as each of them get maybe 15 seconds of screen time. If you are a Zo, Riderman, Super-1, Skyrider, or a Shin fan, expect the same amount of dismay. Overall, this movie just flat out sucks and is not worth sitting through the 98 minute running time. Go watch a good Toku movie instead.

Because I am a Blade and Ryuki fan, and there was a serious lack of both. IN fact, neither one of them even appears at all until about 85 minutes into the movie.
The worst thing is 15. He is supposed to be this big baddie that has the abilities of all 15 Heisei riders, but he only uses Wizard (twice), Fourze (twice), Gaim (twice), and Decade (twice). Where the hell are his Kiva, W, Blade, Ryuki, OOO, and Hibiki ones? In fact, why even give someone the ability to use all of their powers if they AREN'T EVEN GOING TO USE THEM???!! The only scene in the movie I can honestly say I liked was the fight between W, Black, Rx, and Baron. Oh yeah, and another thing, this movie had way too many plots crammed into it, and then there are plots that were just forgotten. What happened to Decade grabbing more of the Kamen Riders? It seemed like he stopped doing that after he ran into Takumi. And what was the point of redoing Kaixa's death sequence from 555? What is worse is they did not even reenact it properly. Then you have 10 minutes spent on Emo Takumi, which made the movie drag on. Also, they made a brand new costume for Birugenia (which looks awful btw), but he didn't even do jack ****. He was nothing more than a background character. GOd this movie sucked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Which is why it's kinda annoying that the Super Sentai guys got more attention than a majority of the Kamen Riders, in a Kamen Rider movie. |
TV Nihon released their subs of it. They have the Alternate Ending Subbed too.

Just checked out the Showa ending.
That was just as dumb as the other one :lol |
