I don't take your post as insulting, the existence of this pack is still just really infuriating to me. For me at least it isn't about it being retro or newer. It's just about taking up 5 slots that could have been used for truly unique releases. Kind of like how the PMC 2-pack knocked out two keys that won't make their way to retail. Whereas the"tommy" pack is just 5 keys everybody could already own.

The thing is that all 5 of those keys also exist already in previously released retail sets. And MMPR black is a triple dip as theres already a con exclusive repaint of him. While that set would admittedly be way more cool than the one we're getting, it would still be kind of pointless with that selection.

I'd rather a convention exclusive be something like this Tommy pack instead of a thing you can't get anywhere else. The packaging makes them cool.

But even then, they usually go and make them different somehow. New paint or detailing, something other than a new box.

These are exactly the same as the retail releases. Nothing new whatsoever. No new paint jobs, nothing.

You know what would've been a way cooler 5-pack? The SPD A-Team Rangers, because there's no other way we'd get them.

Battlizer Keys. I'd kill to see those made.

I'm not really sure how heavily armored forms would look if all their armor was just painted on. They'd loose some of their more powerful appearance and look squished down, kinda like BoJ's Red Wolkaiser key, but more so.

I want the next trend from Tommy loving to Tommy hating to be Tommy indifference. As a person that loved the character as a child to a grown man that sees almost a 50/50 split between love and hate. I don't know what to think.

Sometimes I see or hear good things about him with fans . Sometimes I hear horror stories. Then I see him in affliction shirts , butchering the English language and spending 24-7 on Facebook. And I then start to judge him for being a douche. But he doesn't hate on the franchise that keeps a roof over his head...

Although I wouldnt mind actually getting the Morphin Madness set as an exclusive, even if it still had a Tommy key in it.

Yes but these are, aside from maybe some shinier paint, the exact same thing as retail. If Bandai is too cheap to make new keys for retail, then make them like this exclusive set instead of releasing the same shit over and over again.

Wha.....what's with that set??? Absolutely 0 coherence now. At least with the 20-Key Set showed at a con a while ago (sorry, forgot which one) the set made some sense having the 5 of MMPR, Samurai, Megaforce & Super Megaforce. But this.....just no.

On the bright side, at least I won't feel any obligation at all to track these down.

I mean, I get that con exclusive toys have the age range marked up because they are 'collectors editions' but there is nothing special about any of these keys.

They have all been sold for kids 4+ in stores...so what makes a MMPR Green Ranger suddenly too dangerous for a 9 year old? Is it the box? Maybe JDR's ego radiating off it is poisonous? :lolol

I still consider myself a Tommy fan out of nostalgia for the series, but even I'm starting to get sick of all the stuff related to the character that's coming down the pipe…

Mighty Morphin Green and White in the Mighty Morphin B pack along with Armored Red

Zeo Red in a pack with Blue and Yellow

Turbo Red in a pack with Blue and Green

and Dino Thunder Black in a pack with Red and Blue.

All five are easy to get in store or online as it is.

In that packaging? Probably not. But all five of those keys are currently available in stores.
