My issue with Funi is that they like to reuse a lot of the same voice actors since I remember the Black Cat dub had a few characters that sound like Piccolo and Vegeta. Also they can be bad at home video transfers.

Exactly. So instead of just copying the Japanese-style of speaking they made it relateable to us here in the states by having them talk like we would. Love whenever that happens, it just makes the connection between viewer & show that much easier.

Well that's the voice acting industry in general. Even in Japan, there aren't exactly enough different voice actors that each show can have a wholly unique cast.

That is because Chris Sabat does both Piccolo and Vegeta. He also does Zoro in One Piece, Armstrong in FMA, etc.

You act like they are the only company that reuses voice actors. The thing about Funimation though is they have expanded into the LA market as well so they aren't just using the same Texas voices over and over.

Nevertheless, even Japan reuses the same voices. The leader of the Overlords in Gaim is voiced by the guy that does Arucard in Hellsing, Monte Cristo in Gankutsuou, etc. The guy that voiced the meteor monster in Kyoryuger voices Franky in One Piece, Ninjaman in KakuRanger, Judau in Gundam ZZ, etc.

I know, but I find it distracting when I see another character sound almost the same as Vegeta or Piccolo. Oh well that's just me.

Be glad you haven't watched Blue Exorcist, Attack On Titan, or SAO Dubbed, since all the main characters is voiced by Bryce Papenbrook. The dude is cool and all, but gosh darn does he sound the same.

Voice actors tend to do that all the time. You can tell when a character is voiced by someone known for other roles. First time I watched Adventure Time, I noticed that Ice King sounded like Starscream and Jake like Bender. Sure enough, Tom Kenny and John DiMaggio voiced those characters respectively.

Are they bad VAs? No, of course not. It's just the nature of the craft to recycle voices when deemed fit.

Hell, Takehito Koyasu is the same voice for every character he does. He is Zechs in Gundam Wing. He is Lucifer in Angel Sanctuary. He is Togusa in Utena. He never changes his range.

Nevermind, it isn't worth getting Funimation's subscription again...
