That's just a less direct way of saying "this show isn't as good as Gaim" :/

Ahh yes, because only 6 episodes of a show that's actually pretty good really demonstrates what makes it the most "useless" show.

Just as Go-Busters got left in the dust post-Gokaiger this show is suffering from the same post-hype fall. It's a good show but "it's not Gaim" so people are already dissatisfied with it without even giving it a fair shake.

Not every Rider show is amazing out of the gate. Look at Blade: slow, often mediocre start; epic second half.

Switch you have a point there and same with wizard and in my opinion kabuto. Starts off slow but eventually becomes badass!

And not even Gaim the show that was really good but not as amazing and revolutionary as people wanna make it out to be had really great first episodes.

That basically sums up most people's opinions with every Power Rangers season post MMPR.

Can't say yet, as Wizard had a great first half and then fell apart in its second half. After Phoenix was gone, the show had no idea what to do. Drive still has a lot of time to not get into that rut, but the show is quite predictable right now.

Except Go-Buster sucked because it was just flat out terrible. The ranger cast was meh, but the Buddy Roids were down right awful. Between them and the commander with this two dummies, they had some of the worst supporting cast in Sentai history. Add on top that the show was just flat out boring to sit through, and you have one of the worst Sentai series ever.

I thought Blade was fantastic from start to finish. I don't even see how anyone could think the beginning is slow.

Unpopular opinion time but Blade was one of the toughest shows I've ever had to work through. It was a chore to watch that show. Maybe the last 15 episodes worth of pay off were the only thing that really made it worth it in the end to me.

Wizard I felt had a slow start murky middle and a strong finish in the end. It really was unsure of what the villains were meant to do, what they're goal really was until the final act of the series. But by then everything needed to be wrapped up with a nice little bow on top. I'm much more forgiving of that show than most but it has it's issues.

As someone who includes Blade in his Top 4, Blade did take a while to really get exciting.

Or we could say, that I just don't' particularly dig this rider yet, because he isn't doing much to invoke the chills or thrills of other riders.

Well considering Gaim is the only season between Drive and Wizard, yeah you kinda did.

Completely the opposite. However, if there is one thing I will give Toei for it is that none of the Heisei Rider series outside of Decade have been utter crap. The series that I am not a fan of (Den-O) aren't bad because they are poorly written, but just because I am not a fan of either the theme or the gimmick. I wish I could say the same for Sentai, but I can not as Sentai seems like it gets passed on to the dregs of Toei's back lot based on who is left not working on a Rider series.

But at the same time, I wouldn't blame anyone for ditching a show if they couldn't get into those six episodes.

Six episodes, that's six weeks, three hours of content. That's a lot of time spent on something you don't like. When I hear someone tell someone else to "give it time" all I can think is that they're basically equating the episodes so far to wasted time. If you're not supposed to judge the first six or so episodes, what purpose do they serve?

I will agree there. I ditched ToQGer after 5 because I found it to be utter crap. I have spent enough time watching an entire Sentai series (Go-Buster, for example) in hopes that it is going to get good and then by the end have regretted it.

And that is exactly where i'm standing at this point.

Perhaps, I had exaggerated a bit by exclaiming that Drive was, "the most useless rider since Wizard.", in my perspective and defense what I had meant is that from my viewing perspective this rider is joining the gallery of Riders I don't particularly care for.

In order, the Riders themselves I don't care for would be Ryuki, Decade, Wizard and now a growing disinterest, and dislike for Drive.

What I had meant by that judgement is that Wizard was the last terrible rider, in my opinion in a chronological stand-point of Kamen Riders I just have not cared for.

Regardless though? Despite my poor alliteration, I would appreciate it if words where not put into my mouth, it is a personal pet peeve of mine regardless of how innocent it is and can be.

I stand strongly on that, especially now with other users on this forum taking up verbal arms in regards to comparing Gaim and Drive. I went in with an open mind to watch Drive, and do dig some of the things the show does. But, the show is just not for me from a viewing perspective, not a comparative perspective.
