I'd heard of VR Troopers, but I never knew what it was an adaptation of. Hideous figure, but a cool bit of toku history.
Neat figure there. Shame I was really only interested in power Rangers as a kid cauwe 4 year old me would have loved this toy
I used to have a few of the VR Troopers toys as a kid. Don't know what happened to them, but I loved them all the same. Never had this one, though.
So many interesting Toku I never knew about.
I loved VR Troopers back in the day; great pics!
Funny thing is I had a bunch of Vr Troopers stuff as a kid but I always felt like I was cheating on Power Rangers if I wathed it or played with them.. Lol. Loved this toy tho. Made for a very good xmen villain.
I'd have probably loved something like this as a kid. ...But genuinely don't recall it being a thing at all lol.
Still, nice accessories and a cool looking guy makes for a fun toy. The history of the suit is pretty hilarious too. |
I would totally loan you my Heat/Trigger.
I had no idea of the helmet repaint until you pointed it out. |
I'm watching VR Troopers right now; I'm noticing the repainting helm of tyrannoranger more and more xD
VR Troopers was such a confusing nonsense show. I'm not sure about its source material(s), though. And I always liked the designs.
This figure is downright charming. |
What's up with the Michelin Man suit? That's not even what it looked like. lol
i now have a mighty need to watch this show again how many seasons did it last for?

Well.. outside of the old opening, I don't know much about VR Troopers.
That thing is bananas, thanks for the history lesson. :lol
I don't remember seeing any V.R. Troopers toys when I was younger, tis a shame.

oh god this brings me back. didn't own this but I still think I have the mega-tech ryan steele, and the turbo-tech j.b. reese lying around somewhere at my mothers. lord, I remember the mcdonalds toys.
I was never too familiar with VR Troopers, but I do have some vague memories of this suit design. Never knew the helmet was a repurposed Red Ranger one though, that's very interesting!
Repainting... a Red Ranger helmet... Saban, I would say you've reached a new low, but this happened decades ago.
Things I need to dig up...episodes of this show. How is it that so many years after they've aired we see so many influences on the shows today?
Man, I don't think I have legitimately ever seen a VR Troopers toy. Like I knew they existed, but that was it.
But I've been on a nostalgia 90s toy binge looking at old Toy Biz Marvel toys, and this is adding to it! I think it's cool they at least tried to make original figures for the toyline in addition to importing Japanese toys. I always figured if it came with an extra accessory, and it couldn't hold it, it was because the toy company KNEW that was the best accessory and figured a kid would lose one, you'd still have another. If you lost the second one though, you're on your own. |
I watched the entire run of VR Troopers off Netflix a while back and to see how they were reusing the red Power Ranger helmets in new paint jobs was a nice example of how little budget they put into the show, but at least tried at one point in history over what they seem to do now.
Wow that looks very cheap lol. I remember having JB Reese's figure when I was a kid, I love that suit so much.
I may not have seen the show in years but the theme tune still sticks with me.
You know a figure is going to be good when it comes with LIGHTNING STRIKE PUNCH.
so retro!
Huh. This guy is cool. This is the suit that in show used a repainted MMPR Red helmet right? :lol

The jury is still out on whether or not it did. |
Man VR Troopers those were pretty cool toys back then. I had most of them but not this one. I think as a kid I stuck to the main character that looked like the show and the villians.
As someone earlier said, it looks a lot like Heat trigger, but this gallery has me interested in VR troopers so there is that
Certainly a cool artifact of the early Saban-era toku toys. Reminds me how much I'm looking forward to a Figuarts Metalder.
It's so weird how Bandai NOT wanted to capitalize on that just by repainting MMPR Red figures.
Now I wish I had been born in the 80's.... These VR Troopers figures look like they are really hard to find.
Oh my god I actually had this toy, I didn't realise until i slowly read through the review and the shield was mentioned.
I held onto that shield for years after I lost track of the figure oh my god. |

Can we get more VR Troopers galleries? I don't have a complete toy list, and I have renewed interest in finding older figures! The card-back for this figure revealed some interesting gems!
I'll admit, the show could've been a tad better, but VR Troopers footage is starting to get reviewed, and the toys could be used in conjunction with Metal Heroes figures! http://sirstack.db-destiny.net/morphylogeny/VRT101.htm http://sirstack.db-destiny.net/morphylogeny/VRT102.htm |
