Well that was a rushed final battle. It felt like they were just trying to get through the fights just to get through them rather than write them. We didn't even actually get to see ToQ6 fight Nero, which was lame. I also found Right using all of the colors to fight Zed to be quite pointless as all he did was change colors, jump, and then change colors again. Then you have the Crows being defeated with like one step to the left. Lame. Overall, I can't say this finale did anything for me as the fights were over way too quick and there was no actual conclusion. Zed got away. As such, the villains have not been defeated, so why is the series over? I am so tired of these open ended endings just so they can pump out movies. This crap needs to end Toei!!!!

The color changing was explained multiple times in the show that when the darkness around the ToQGer becomes to powerful they cant keep up their transformed state for more than a few seconds before it wears off. So right quickly changing through every color was needed for him to get around Zet so he could use his new ToQ Rainbow form. And yes everything got resolved. Zet getting killed would have been terrible for the whole storyline they were building up with him over the course of the show. After his defeat we got a call back to Akiras origin with Zet seeing the rainbow and the light that it represents. With him now beeing freed of the pain he had to go through as the Emperor and getting the chance at a new life together with Gritta. |
Yeah, I can't help but feel anyone who thinks Z should have died either hasn't been watching the show or has just missed the whole point of his character entirely.
|
Then the series is not over. Zed should have been killed because the show is left unresolved. The rangers didn't get enough power to outweigh the Shadow Line because they didn't even kill the generals, they killed themselves. This is without a doubt one of the most lackluster finales of the entire franchise. This made the Kyoryuger finale look amazing.
|
Yes the series IS over. Every storyline from the show got resolved by the end of this episode. The Emperor is gone because whats left of him isnt the Emperor anymore Zet got reborn through the light he always tried to achieve and finally obtained it to be at peace with himself.
The entire show revolves around the concept of light and darkness coexisting together without one destroying the other. Having the SHadow Line completely destroyed by the end would achieve absolutely nothing in the context of the shows story. |
I realize that ToQger is like Super Sentai meet Kingdom Heart!
Does everyone play Kingdom Heart? It deal with darkness and child innocence |

Dr. Kain doesn't know the concept of ToQger
ToQger is like Super Sentai meet Kingdom Heart because it focus on friendship, child innocence and Light vs. Darkness It make sense because Sora and his friends trying to save Disney World from Heartless similar ToQger saving Different Town from Shadow Line |

Says the guy who thinks Dairanger's 100 year reset of it's conflict isn't the EXACT same thing. Open ended. And being open ended doesn't make ToQger bad, you seem to have just hated the show from the outset, skipped a majority of it, then swooped in at the end to complain. Pretty much like you did with any other show I've ever seen you complain about. |

I didn't skip the majority of the show for the sake of skipping it. I skipped it because I found it to be down right awful. However, like every Sentai series, my rule is to watch at least the first 5 episodes and the final four regardless. Nevertheless, a crappy ending is still a crappy ending. I wouldn't want to sit through this series in full with that ending. And I complained about Go-Buster, but I sat through every pain inducing episode and then regretted it when the series ended. I also sat through all of Wizard and I'm currently sitting through Drive. |

I'm not saying Gritta had to die. I didn't say they had to completely eliminate the Shadow Line. I'm saying Zed needed to die because he was the main villain. Zed just being kidnapped by Gritta means he is still out there to kill everyone. Just look at MagiRanger. They didn't get rid of Infershia, but they killed Nma, the main villain. |

First of all, if your friend wanted to contribute to the discussion, he could just come her and post himself. Also that doesn't help your point. And even if it did:
Ending his post by saying "Toqger is not Goseiger levels of bad" is something I can't take seriously anyway, because Goseiger isn't bad. It's just a popular opinion to say so and most arguments revolve around people not liking certain things due to personal opinion and sell that as facts everyone has to accept. Which is btw. the same for this opinion on Toqger. Most of the complaints result from simply not understanding plotpoints correctly or not paying proper attention to them and thus dilisking them. (On a side note: Akira isn't the first Orange Ranger. Battle Cossack is STILL the first one to wear that color. ) |
The series had great concept, but poor exectution. Hence it's easy for one to hate/not like/... ToQGer. It might be a weak series, but as Go-Buster it has their own fan too. A majority of fandom are like "Oh we hate this show, so you must hate it too". Nope, my emotion is mine to decide, not their influence. I like this show, although some episodes are buggy as hell but this is the most entertaining Sentai I've ever watched.

I'm going to miss this show, I've thoroughly enjoyed it and the ending did make me feel a little sad. May not have been the greatest show ever written but it was fun, the villains were well written and looking in hindsight the Toqgers themselves were nicely done as well.
I'm a little gutted we didn't get another battle between Hyper Toq1 and Zet cos the ones they did have were great but short making me want more. Bring on Ninninger, can't wait. |

BTW, I think you did miss the part where he specifically said, "IN MY OPINION." Nevertheless, I'm trying to figure out what my opinion on the series as a whole has to do with my opinion on this specific episode. I said this episode was rushed, lackluster, and did not feel like a final episode. I never made any mention to the series as a whole initially. |

Anyway, if the last episode had been climatic, it might have motivated me to actually give the entire series a second chance. As it were, I'm just going to go watch my ZyuRanger DVDs instead. |
Out of the sentai that I've watched/started ToQ was in the middle. With the designs taking some time to grow, the show itself was pretty good when it wanted to be but when there was filler, it was bad. Now though I have ninjas so yay! But yeah while this series isn't great it's still wayyy better than Zyuranger to me.
|
Even though this series for me was a chore to get through, the last two episodes were the ultimate tearjerkers. I don't know how, but I definitely (also strangely lol) connected to the show somehow. I guess it's cuz I got emotionally involved in this by going through the struggle week-after-week to DL this. But yeah...show was average IMO, but it did enough to make you invested into it.
|
Its always sad that a series is ending. That was a emotional ending. Im just waiting for their v cinema movie. The show was underrated. I didnt like it but then i enjoyed it. Imagination became inspiring to everyone. Already missed the opening of toqger.

So, we finally came down to this. I tend to believe that in terms of storyline a Sentai should be a roller coaster of emotions, although Toqger was not exactly this, the series grew on me, specially with TOQ 2 (トッキュウ2号ブルー Tokkyu Ni-go Buru) Tokatchi (トカッチ) and for third consecutive time i get along very well with Sentai blue. i liked how he matured during the show's run and as well his relationship with Mio, writers did well by just making it seem natural and some kind spontaneous but credible and not overly cheesy.
Overall its pace and rhythm was good to my taste, but i kind feel the ending was a little bit rushed thus i have high hopes that more is to be added in their V-cinema story and of course in their crossover with Niningers in 2016. I like trains and it was a breathe of fresh air after Kyoryuger (sorry guys, but Dinos is a total turn off for me), so i was eagerly anticipating the hands off between Daigo and Raito at the end of Brave Final. Well, going back to TQG, I always say to myself that i wont drop a tear in the final episode but the ending scene where younger Toqgers met their adult counterparts touched me, i couldn't hold any longer. Farewell imaginassion resshas! I wanted to post this the last week but i couldnt due my agenda. Cheers. |
