yup, Ep 4 - Daigo's first appearance was badass
I like his design. That dark aqua color is wicked Love that his axe magically grew after he henshin'd |
I like the new guy. He reminds me a little of Baron from Makai Senki, only less awesome because he isn't Kenji Matsuda. The dude definitely has a chip on his shoulder, though, and I'm curious to see what his role is going to be on the show. I do like that he has more personality in one episode than Crow did in all of Makai no Hana, but I'm not sure about the armor. I'm generally not a huge fan of Makai Knight armor that goes for a less metallic color scheme. I'm also having a hard time telling if there's a practical suit here or if it's just CGI, which is either a dig at the suit design or a compliment to the CGI.
I loved screaming guy. He may be one of my favorite one-off guest characters ever. :lol |
Not as exciting as Yami, and there's more of a "classic Garo" feel to this series. By no means bad, but just not like I was expecting. Still very solid so far. I look forward to the direction this series is heading in.

its awesome that he is Giga from the pachinko game just wished he was more green,, hopefully they make him into a makai kado figure (hopefully he will be more green so he doesn't look so close of color at gai aka aguri) tho im still waiting for them to make a Giru figure. also that sword would be cool if it belonged to Ogha aka Gaoh, also it would be funny is that priest that doesnt want to show up to help yet, turns out to being Yaiba which would explain why he chooses to not wanna help out yet.

Ep.5 is good too, it has a nice touch of investigation in the plot. MOTW was kind of cool, music during the fight was like "Hell Yeah !".
- But how did Raiga get his sword back in midair just after henshin if it was stuck in the upper floor ? - Shut up, it's magic. And I know it's getting old at some point, but... at each episode... can't... help... thinking about... ONORE DIKAIDO !!! |
Really liked the latest episode. The story wasn't the most amazing, but the make-up and fight choreography were both fantastic. I also really loved all the background music this week.
|
you know after watching every single installment of the garo franchise i realized there is one thing i want to see more then anything:
i want to see the story of the first garo - no not kouga i mean the first person to ever become garo |
Ep. 6 alternative titles :
- Mahou Shoujo Rian no Monogatari - How many boobs does it take to change a lightbulb ? - It fell off a truck, litteraly. Axe-guy is cool, he needs more screentime now. And it took 6 episodes for that lazy smirking priest to do something (minimal). Nice cliffhanger, by the way. |
Something that I've been reminded of, based off what Henshinzero said earlier... I'd like to see a Sentai-esque faction of Makai Knights in Garo. A group of 4 or 5 knights that operate as a team. Hell give them a giant mecha as well, for tackling larger Horrors. The armors wouldn't be a million miles away from these:
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...psc6jxpfrm.png (Click for larger pic, it's huge, hence my thumbnailing it) Taken from Shougeki Gouraigan. Maybe more metallic than these, but I think a "Makai Sentai" would be pretty badass. I always thought the "Phantom Knights" that Crow and Eiji were part of in Makai No Hana could have been expanded upon a bit more (A problem with Crow in general really), as I liked the idea of a Black Ops style group within the Makai Knights. I don't think we'd ever get a female knight though. Pretty sure Black Blood actually stated it was impossible for women to use weapons of Soul Metal (Hence Yuna going to the extreme of getting the remaining bone of her father implanted into her arm, just so she could use his sword), unless they want to do something to turn that around. Maybe if Rekka shows up in-show again someday, it would be a great moment for her. Really enjoying this series so far. I also like how although this is a more serious show than Rider or Sentai, Garo still does the classic thing of characters changing clothes quickly in nanoseconds. Ryuga even did the classic "Grab shoulder and pull" thing in "The one who shines", even though he was wearing overalls, yet somehow his coat fit under there just fine! |
I am enjoying this series a lot. Ryuuga and Rian are a lot of fun. Does anyone know what Masahiro Inoue's character's name is? I am not remembering it and keep calling him either Decade or evil Gomez lol.

Episode 6

Makai Knight axe-guy is still on the bench :( Smirky lazy priest did something again. That's 2 episodes in a row ! Maybe next time he'll get a revelant dialog with Rian or Ryuga. That said, that action-packed episode was awesome ! It's reminescent of ep.9 of TOWSITD, when Ryuga and friends "met" another former Makai Knight (but this epsiode is still not on par with it imho). |
Who else thinks that, after watching the recent episode, Ryuga might go full on Lost Soul Beast GARO just to stop Jinga, similar to Kouga and Kodama? It looks like they might be setting something up
|
Good episode this week. Nice to finally see the other Priest do something. Looks like we'll finally get to see what his deal is next time. I really like the fight between Rian and Amily; Jinga vs. Ryuga was okay, but nothing special by Garo standards.

Have I got this right about Jinga? Is the first knight to willingly accept being a Horror? Barago/KIBA, wasn't a Horror, as far as I can remember, simply a Makai Knight gone bad trying to release the mother of all horrors, simply in a bid to become more powerful. Sonshi, while he was a former knight who became a horror and still kept his sword, was turned into a Madou Horror against his will by Tousei. Eiji, while he was the one who broke the seal on Eiris, never became a horror, and was only doing it in a bid to bring his wife back. I might be wrong here, but I think this is the case. Anyway, I like how Jinga's horror form still kinda looks like Masahiro Inoue, and it is one of the few physical suit horrors in the show (aside from the basic Horrors that pop up as mooks in every season) |
Quote:
Spot on about Sonshi and Eiji had no intention of becoming a Horror. As far as we know, Jinga is the only knight that accepted becoming and being a Horror. I don't think they'd show Ryuga turning into a Horror. Like I implied, its most likely its just gonna be similar to Kouga and Kodama: Ryuga forcibly exceeding the time limit (becoming Lost Soul Beast Garo) to try and defeat Jinga, maybe succeeding, and then most likely have Rian save Ryuga. Only time will tell |
I definitely see them playing up the whole Ryuuga being swayed to the Dark Side and possibly becoming a horror (The only reason I think otherwise is they have no way to have him change back). I 100% agree that Rian will save Ryuuga they have been playing that up in the episode with Giga and how she is important to him. Jinga is very interesting I hope we learn more about him.
Anyone know if there is any word if the other actors from Yami Wo Terasu Mono are coming back; mainly Junya Akeda and Tsunenori Aoki? |

new pics of garo makai kado figure only problem i have with it is the eyes, how come their not orange, hope they give him an alt orange eye head, he is supposed to be the current one right in sho? (nvm he is Kouga)

Episode 8
So, yeah dialog at least, we finally learn more about that pretentious little priest. He looks more of someone out of a Naruto chapter than the usual Garo supporting character (the sense of...eh... fashion, the quickstep technique using a seal, the sad story about his village, etc). Axe you noticed, next episode we'll get some Daigo ! |
Episode 9
A nice Daigo-centric episode. This time the horror of the week was the kind of creature usually found in fairy tales, it was good to get a somehow 'traditionnal' monster in Garo. At this point, I'm nearly sure Makai Decade and his dark chick own an appearance in each episode due to their contracts. It wasn't a subtle way to introduce them to Daigo, that felt a bit forced. |
I've enjoyed the last few episodes. I do like that the plot is moving along smoothly, but I find myself missing the lush visuals from Makai no Hana. I'm not sure why the Ryuga shows are so relatively restrained when it comes to special effects and design. That said, I did like the fight between Ryuga et al. and the wrestler this week. It was really great to see the practical suits used so extensively.
|
I am enjoying this season a lot more than I did Makai No Hana; I think it's more the story is moving along better than Makai No Hana's did. Well also I love Ryuuga a lot. The newest episode I thought was brilliant and great for everyone. I definitely feel that either Ryuuga or Daigo will go dark in one way or another though.
|
Episode 10:
Makai Decade send a shocking lady to keep Ryuga busy while having a meeting with the awfully bad dressed priest. The actress of this week's horror looked familiar, anyone know if she had already been in Garo or other toku works ? |
Episode 11
Got some back-story regarding Gald/Garudo. This episode actually got a proper suit for the Horror of the week (unlike the previous two or Jinga). Don't get me wrong I liked the others and the CGI Horrors, but the main problem I had with Yami wo Terasu Mono was that the Knights and Horrors were all CGI and I really liked the look and feel of the design that the live action suits had. Apart from that, a good/okay episode |
I lost a bit of momentum with the show when it missed that week, but I've really enjoyed the last couple episodes.
|
Since I watch Nihon's subs of it, It's like halfway through the week before I realize, oh crap I need to watch GARO! This is my first time watching it as it airs so it has been weird.
|
GARO Gold Storm Shou Episode 12: Man Jinga is a jackass manipulating Gald's feelings and making him believe his sister is dead; that is just such an evil move. However I do love Masahiro Inoue's performance as Jinga; they made this character perfect for him. He does it so well, he's so charismatic and evil I love it. Great to see Ryume get involved more probably my favorite Watchdog so far or at least the most memorable one besides the villain one from the first season. Loved Ryuuga's and Gald's talk at the end about trusting each other and Gald trusting Ryuuga as a person rather than hating him because he's a Makai Knight. I also love Ryuuga and Rian saving Gald too so he didn't die in vain for the wrong reasons. Overall I am loving Ryuuga and Rian so much more. This is a very strong season right now and I can't wait for more.

I love how much Ryuga's grown into the role of the Golden Knight now. Maybe in his first series he suffered from not being like Kouga, but they weren't even trying to convince anyone he was Kouga. To be honest, Raiga seemed a little too "Perfect" at time. I know GARO as a title carries a lot of prestige and is considered the Best of the Best among his peers in-universe, but it was a little too much in Makai no Hana. One other thing this and last week's episode have going for it, are practical Horror suits, and really cool freaky-looking ones. The kind of stuff that makes me love GARO. More of this please! Looking forward to the new JAM Project theme in the next episode! |

Yeah Ryuuga did have a lot to fight against not being Kouga, but he is still my favorite GARO but I think it's mostly because I watched the first few episodes of GARO Yami Wo Terasu Mono before I stopped and watched GARO and Ryuuga was the whole reason I wanted to keep watching this series. I love his personality and that he's a bit more emotional. I love Raiga and Kouga too though. Yeah I can't wait for the new theme too. |
GARO Gold Storm Episode 13: Well I love the new opening, but if I don't like the first one I normally like the second or vice versa. Anyways really fun episode I loved Gald, Rian, and Ryuuga trying to take down this 20-30 Feet tall monster. I love Ryuuga's plan on how to defeat it and the usage of how he summoned his armor. I enjoy Ryume taking a more active role trying to help them in this quest to stop Radan. Also Gald putting a spell on Amily so they can learn what the bad guys are doing was brilliant. That spell that Haruna cast was dangerous but I'm glad she survived it and D Ringo is fun too. The action is great here. I honestly wonder if we are going to get to Radan sooner or if it will slowly build up and it'll be close to the end when we get to see that. Well like always I can't wait for more.

I liked the latest episode; kind of surprised it wasn't a clip show, but I'm not going to complain. The big CGI Horror looked really cool and I liked what a challenge it was to take down. The final attack Ryuga and Rian used on it was really smart. Only thing I didn't like this week was that one line about peeling wasabi; what the hell did that even mean?
New intro is okay, but Garo's had far better. I don't like the new ending song as much, but the visuals are far better (although I will miss Sakina Kuwae's awful, awful orange and purple romper- dear lord that think was delightfully hideous). |
I'm beginning to lose steam a bit with this show and I can't for the life of me figure out why. The only complaint I actually have about the show is that the new Garo suit is ugly as hell. Ryuga and Rian are still great characters and Mashiro Inoue is just owning the place.
Yet I just seem to sit through each episode with nothing really grabbing me. It's not bad by a long shot, so I'm just wondering if I'm burnt out on non-stop Garo or something :/ |
wahh so happy the passing by kamen rider enters the garo world.. cool bad ass causing too much trouble for ryuuga-kun. hope i can find the prequel movie too of goldstorm
