From the way Bandai was talking about Toy Fair (I believe), they were very interested in Tor and Serpenterra. Odd since I expected the poor sales of Titanus to do away with that.

The Thunder Megazord was THE toy for me as a kid. I still have my original. I played with that thing all the time, took it with me everywhere. I am stunned to be getting a collector's edition version of this toy!

I have not bought a Legacy item since the Collection, and the morphers. The Tigerzord has tempted me, but the Thunder seals it. Even if I resell it, I have to have that glorious beauty in my hands at least once. It looks amazing.

I'm waiting to see how the red dragonzord looks before I jump the gun with getting this. It looks nice and looks impressive but let's see how the individual zord a look. Also really no chromed Phoenix tail for the spear? I hope they change that.

I can do without chrome. Chrome just tends to flake after a few years.

Just watched a video of a Bandai rep at SDCC talking about all of the stuff they have on-display, and he breifly mentioned something for next year. Apparently there's going to be another theme of Ranger figures called "dino steel mode". Any guesses as to what this could be?

Finally after all this time, all the new Legacy versions of the season one MMPR zords and the Tigerzord...it is here.

Well, Thunderzord Assault Team was my first Zord set. I had it for months before I could even get a Red Dragonthunderzord and played the hell out of it, always pretending Jason/Rocky was kidnapped, Zord was damaged, etc.

I had zero interest in this line, until White Tigerzord was announced, not because I care about it (I don't) but because I assume that this would follow.

Part of me is ecstatic with joy, and part of me is wishing it never happened.

And it's not really a wallet issue either, though it certainly doesn't help!

Yeah. All we need know is Shout! Factory to announce that they are going to bring Dairanger to DVD and this will be the perfect SDCC for Sentai despite the lack of Figuarts stuff.

Rejoice Legacy Tigerzord. Your brothers and sisters have arrived.

And here I thought that the giant D.C. Megazord at the conventions might just be a good reproduction statue. It's a shame that only Bandai paid to use it. I remember when P.R. used its own footage of a Megazord vs. a monster. There have been multiple instances over the years. Why they don't ship the Mecha/Megazord suits anymore, I'll never truly understand.

From what I understand, Toei ships New Zealand EVERYTHING. It's up to production whether or not to use it. And making new footage of the Megazords is sometimes a little pricey because of the set you have to create.

I could honestly go on. This was when P.R. could and WOULD do ANYTHING it could think would work. I'm not denying that the more you do, the more it costs, but I still think an attempt would be definitely worth it. Notice that most of the U.S. Zord footage is done differently with a lot of "ground-to-air" camera work than the straight-forward "Mecha/Monster Battle on a City Set". How could Toei ship them every little thing, and we still go so long without any original footage of the Megazords? Even ONE!!!

It's expensive and difficult. Notice how huge the suit is for the Dinocharge Megazord? How it's like nine feet tall? That's because the person inside is basically on short stilts, swinging around huge, bulky body parts. It's difficult, exhausting, and takes a lot of choreography to use one of those costumes for very little gain. Factor in that the only examples of unique Megazord footage is from back when Power Rangers was telling radically different stories. Nowadays it's so much more in line with the Sentai, with minimal changes like a few new villains or allies. Superficial stuff in the grand scheme of footage recycling that makes up 90% of the action. There's no narrative reason for new footage, and do you really think uber cheap neo-Saban gives a shit to just make unique footage for the sake of that? Kids won't care, and if the story's uneffected, neither will stuffy adult fans like us.

The second half of this could easily explain Super Megaforce. The other side of this is that I'm not asking for much to begin with. A third side calls that if the suit is so cumbersome, is there any way to do it in segments? If certain elements do come off and can be coordinated autonomously from the rest of the whole, then one can do a close-up of an arm or leg moving and still get a desired effect, even if that effect is merely to cover a cut in the Sentai footage. The sword itself is a separate piece. And they could add a superfluous, but gratifying shot of the Megazord just standing. They did "statue" the suit. Also, Dino Charge is breaking ranks with typical Neo-Saban madness, and cannot solely be called "footage recycling". Oh, and a fourth side is the use of CGI. I admit that such a mock-up via computer rendering would not have the same genuine impact of the suit, but it would technically be considered "new footage". They did use a CGI Rex in the beginning of D.C. I do understand that it all goes back to the money as well as the time and effort of the crew, but I still can't help but wonder if certain restrictions could be...circumvented.

What should be the other five Power Rangers season's that should be redone for the Legacy toyline? For Me, it's Turbo, Lost Galaxy, Dino Thunder, SPD and Jungle Fury. I mean sure, the Legacy line might come to an end after the Ninja and Shogon Megazord(s), but that still doesn't mean that other seasons shouldn't be given the Legacy treatment.
