HLJ just sent me a payment request for the Ghost Driver. I'm pleased that it only took a week for them to get it back in stock.

Even if I'm still only planning to ship it out in mid-November. It's a load off my mind...

I want to buy the DX Ghost Driver and I don't have know anything about buying toys from Japan. Amiami is currently sold out, but I can wait until they have it back in stock. They have a sale on it and are selling it for ¥2990 which is about $25. This is where I bombard you with questions now. If I were to buy it, would Pay Pal automatically convert yen to dollars? How much would shipping be? Would you guys recommend AmiAmi? Are there any cheaper or better online stores that sell Japanese toys? Can you explain the buying and shipping process? I just need someone to give a detailed guide to buying Japanese toys. Thanks!

HLJ sometimes. But for new items you usually get the best deal from these sites.

It's identical to any online purchase process. You add items to a cart, checkout, pay with paypal, allow a brief time for it to be packed and shipped.

Thanks for all the info! HLJ's prices are more expensive for the Ghost Driver unfortunately. Based off of your experience, is HLJ the best out of the online stores you've used? Does it have fast shipping? Is its shipping usually cheap, moderate, or expensive? What would be an estimate shipping price for something of that size based off of your past experiences.

HLJ is usually more expensive than AmiAmi for most things. The kicker with AmiAmi though is that while they discount all of their items, in almost every case they completely deny returns of any kind. Shipping rates are more or less standard for both stores, but price depends on how quickly you want it to arrive. I'm impatient and generally go with EMS which for a large or DX item can potentially range anywhere from 15-30 dollars. I usually receive it in less than a week though, so that's a plus.

Thanks Rollout! One last question: What would AmiAmi's very cheapest shipping cost be? Even if it takes a month to arrive.

The cheapest and slowest would (probably?) be unregistered SAL without a tracking number. The price itself depends on size and weight, so I can't be exactly sure about how much that would cost. I've never actually shipped from AmiAmi through anything besides EMS. :p

When you want the Ghost Driver the cheapest will probably EMS or Registered Airmail. Paclages that big usually cant be shipped wirh SAL.

Not sure the weight of this year's Driver though.

According to HLJ, the Driver weighs about 1.2 kg, which would place it at around 2720 for EMS, 1690/1280 for SAL. The question would be size, though, since depending on the size it may restrict you to just EMS.

Son of a... Apparently AmiAmi restocked on Ghost Drivers. Of course even though FigInStock sent me a notification right as it happened, the damn email didn't show up in my inbox until a half hour later. AUGH!

I'm just waiting for the driver sword combo box, it won't be as cheap as getting both on amiami but at least I have it secured (I hope, it is on HLJ after all)

Classic HLJ, ordered the Robin Hood Eyecon as soon as it went up and mine was put on back order. Cancelled everything and ordered with Hobby Search. Will see what they do regarding the Gan Gun Hand. Lol.

Yeah Hobby Search is great for that. Ordered both GC releases from them today and have Specter already on preorder.

Plastic. You wont see Fabric or rubber on these. At least not in that big quantity.

ahhh I'm sticking with HLJ because of their warehouse at this point, otherwise I would have jumped to hobbysearch too.

For the figuart it's definitely going to be plastic, I can imagine there being two parts one for the hood up and down. I do wonder how they'll handle the torso if they'll mold the parka as one or have it drape over the mold.

Here's another question for SHF Ghost:
How will the hood work? Will it have 2 separate heads: one without a hood an one with it?

Bleh, backorder's annoying but I've got way too much stuff on my warehouse to jump ship at this point...everywhere else is already sold out anyway and it's not like I want to go waste a lot on shipping just for an Eyecon.

Yeah, that was weird. This morning the Robin Eyecon was listed as backordered, and despite the Condor Phone still being in stock, I hadn't got a request for it. A couple hours later I got the invoice for both of them at the same time. Dunno what was going on there.

All I know is that now I have a warehouse full of stuff I don't need until I can finally secure a damn Driver. If HLJ doesn't fulfill my backorder in a week or two, I guess I'll just have to go with Mandarake.

I've never gone all-in on the current DX toys before, so this is my first frustrating experience with HLJ. I imagine there's a whole lot more of this to come. Not looking forward to that...

I haven't seen this posted elsewhere but we've had an official image of GC03 for a bit now.

Honestly, I don't like how the mask design translated to the toy. It just looks squished together...and the blue just seems too dark. I love Specter's design, but I'm not feeling the GC.
