In this case, there was legit cause for skepticism. The Japanese trademark databases that are searchable in the US weren't updated with the information until a couple hours ago.

So while, yes, there was plenty of reason to take it at face value, there was no way to prove it wasn't falsified until now.

I think those Kamen Rider Fashionista rumors put us all in hyper-vigilant skeptic mode.

I take everything with healthy doses of skepticism as well, but those tweets from trademark bot are just to secure to be fake. So for me this one was a no brainer.

Given that Ghost's gimmick turned out to be swappable hoodies, I suspect that was more misunderstanding than outright fabrication.

I'm disappointed that it's not Space Bugs but I always love Animal-Themed Sentai. Another GaoRanger would be awesome.

Anyway, I hope it's an honest to goodness animal theme, and not just animal designs like other series have done.

So my toku enjoyment next year shall be American Dinosaurs (Power Rangers), Ghost Hoodies (Kamen Rider), and King Beasts (Super Sentai). We'll see how it goes. Glad to be going back to animals though.

So. Theories as to what animals they might use? We know a lion or tiger is going to be in there somewhere. Thoughts, suggestions, needs/wants?

I just hope Red isn't a Lion. I'd be okay with Tiger though.

Probably a bird of some sort, something to do with water, a wolf, and then some other big/powerhouse esque animal.

Most popular Sentai animals appear to be

*Lion/Tiger (possibly both)
*Wolf
*Dragon (it counts, dammit :P)
*Bird of Prey (Hawk or Falcon probably)
*Elephant
*Rhino
*Something aquatic- likely a Shark

And possibly some other random choices.

I dunno about elephants. So far, I think they've only been used exclusively as auxiliary mechs.

I want a Hippo too. I was happy to see Green Hippo in Go-Busters Return, but I was severely disappointed when he died without doing much.

Which is why there needs to he a Sentai/Ranger that uses one as their animal. And I'm sort of not counting the Elephant Spirit Ranger from JF because he was an American exclusive.

New Sentai, huh? I look forward to watching it for up to five weeks and then dropping it.

Shinken Green had one and there were two in Gaoranger/Wild Force that Yellow owned. Go-On/RPM Yellow's vehicle was based on a bear.

Oh... Kind of forgot about those.

Also, we had a Panda with the Safari Ressha and MomoNinger will get a Panda Mecha next episode.

My question is will there be any kind of dedication in this season. Like Bokenger having the monster represent past mecha I think.

I never said it sounded lazy though, because it doesn't- my comment was referring to the pronunciation of the name.

It'll definitely be interesting how the animal theme will be used. Gingaman was space and fantasy themed, Gaoranger was nature and fairy tale like, and than we had Gekiranger which was martial arts. So it should be fun seeing what they use the theme with now both in story and gimmick.

I just hope this show will be on the level that Gekiranger was or better; that show was and still is tremendous.

I am down with animals. I knew the space theme was doomed when it was the first rumor...maybe next year lol.

I wonder what color lineup they will use. I kind of hope there isn't a pink ranger. We skipped yellow in Kyoryu so why not skip pink in Jyuou/Zyuoh/Jyuuou?

In Super Sentai we already have 9 seasons! NINE! Plus we already had anniversary season with animal motive. This is not funny at all(
And what about title of a season? Doubutsu Sentai (do you remember Go-busters?)?? It seems like they even didn't try to create interesting title for anniversary season... Guys it is 40th years already, but they even didn't try...

I was hoping a monster theme since Kiva.

Yeah, animal motifs have been dealt with since the early 80s, but I say give it the benefit of the doubt for now.
If it does end up sucking worse than any other show then so be it.
But for now wait a bit until there is enough material available to determine whether or not it is good or bad.

Maybe a few years later. We already have a supernatural hero lined up on the Rider side of things.
