While I'll admit it does look more show accurate to a degree, that doesn't change how flat and lifeless the Legacy looks.

The arms don't even bother me that much, because they have a lot to do between being the dragon limbs and internal bones for the Megazord. But the legs are pointlessly thin, and could've stayed thicker without detracting from the dragon mode at all. Also, I'm a little sad that there's no obvious knees, but without obvious hips that's not exactly missing out on too much.
Maybe I'm just more critical because of the $200 price. For $200 and this scale I'm expecting something perfect, not just a normal Megazord with normal Megazord sacrifices. This thing costs 2/3rds of SOC GaoGaiGar for example. |

I absolutely love it and think it looks beautiful. My head is still slightly spinning over the price (especially considering Titanus kind of flopped because he was too $$$) but it does look much more detailed than any of the previous Legacy Megazords.
Call me weird but I'm curious as to what packaging it will come in. They could ship it in the standard size Legacy Megazord box but it would have to be partially formed in Megazord mode like the S1 Megazord release and even then I have no idea where the sled would fit? Perhaps they'll release it in the longer box that was released in the 90's containing 'The Assault Team' and 'The Red Dragon Thunderzord'. |
I can't even explain how much I want all these Legacy sets. But if I won't pick up Dragonzord at $70, I really don't see myself buying this one for $200.
I have a couple of the old pieces, maybe I'll just try to complete that set instead Quote:
The newer version fixes some issues, but it brings up some others. I don't think there's any way to make it perfect, considering the proportions are a bit weird in the show. |

We've got a picture of sled mode now.

So is it me or is it looking like Zord Builder isn't being jammed into this version of the megazord. If so I'm quite pleased as while Zord Builder was a nice concept I think it started hampering the US zords a bit, especially with the legacy line.

The box looks awesome.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's still ZB ports in the shoulders and arms of the Red Dragonzord, but yeah, there might not be any more on there.
That wouldn't necessarily mean the end of ZB, a 200 dollar collector aimed toy doesn't HAVE to interact with the 30 dollar mainline zords. Although it might be hard to fit them into Ninninjer robots. |
$200 for a Zord Builder remake? That's crazy.

visable or not, it's gotta have zord builder ports to interact with the tigerzord
|
Not really. The combination is just sliding armor for both red dragon and Tiger. The legs can't have ZB ports because the red dragon's legs slide all the way into them, the lion's torso doesn't have ZB because it the red dragon would be riddled with holes otherwise, while the arms just slide in, and the phoenix just uses clips to attach.
When combining with the tiger, none of them actually need any ZB ports if they built the Tigerzord with any sense behind it. The Tigerzord has ZB pieces to interact with the Dino Megazord, but due to the unique way the Thunder Megazord combines, as well as the lack of obvious ports on the red dragon, I doubt it can accommodate it. |

I wouldn't be surprised if the Red Dragon's lower legs detach. It would make sense considering you can't really put the tigerzord's upper legs straight with the feet still attached.
|
I'm not really familiar with the Tigerzord's construction, but I do know it has clips on the back for the lion to attach.
I assumed they designed his legs with the upcoming Thunder Megazord in mind. |
Those details! But the price tag. Being a broke college student sucks.

Mega Tigerzord!

As someone who doesn't keep up with toys a lot: what even is Zord Builder and why does it suck? I've heard the name thrown around a lot, and I see the logo on the rare occasion I buy Zord toys, but what is it?

It's looked down upon because it requires a whole new set of molds. As a result, we're getting smaller and a lot simpler Megazords compared to earlier days (Where the Megazords and Sentai mecha were basically the same, just altered paint/stickers and occasionally electronics). As for Zord Builder and the Legacy items, people don't like it because it can sometimes mess with design (Like the Legacy Dragonzord Battle Mode having widely splayed out legs) |
The Mega Tigerzord looks kind of dull, not going to lie.

I actually like the look of the toy since the in show mech had such a faded look to it (Though that could just be camera quality...) |
It's just those little arms that get to me :lol
I mean, I'm still going to buy the you know what out of this ... hey, I wonder if Red Dragon can ride Tiger! |
That'd be a cool display~
|
You can't really blame Zord Builder for the more simple/smaller mecha toys. They started "shrinking" molds 2 (or 3?) years before ZB came about. The recession did that.
Still, kids supposedly love ZB. Whatever keeps the PR franchise afloat. |

That was to be expected though and I'm expecting Ryuuseioh to be the same way.

Bandai UK has posted more pictures, this time the actual toy.
They said they'll put up pictures of more modes tomorrow. Looks like the piece that holds the firebird to the sled actually comes off and is the part that attaches it to the Tigerzord. |
My Zord Grail inches ever closer.......
|
So I'm guessing this confirms that the Phoenix does not have it's own legs to stand alone?
As a side note, I completely forgot how much the Phoenix is getting a face full of butt on the sled mode. |

I'm totally going to cave and end up getting this right away.
I told myself I wouldn't until a sale (which will probably happen given history) but I like this particular zord too much |

Bandai UK posted new pics. The feet do slide in. Also the sword chain has appeared maybe there will be feet for phoenix after all.
