Love these vintage galleries. Love seeing stuff I have never heard of.
Toys kinda remind me of the BeetleBorgs design a bit

I have a lot of weird nostalgia for kabutack. I used to see toys (mainly bootlegs) of it all over when I would visit china, but i remember getting food poisoning in Shangai one summer and just marathoning it on tv. I never end up getting any of the toys, but theres a chinese toy line thats very heavily inspired by the kabutack stuff.

Nice gallery. It seems like a fun toy, but not something I will add to my collection.
This toy reminds me of Datas/Datas Hyper from Goseiger, as both have a cute cartoonish looking form and a more serious looking warrior form. I also get the feeling the Zabut and Drillut armors are more designed for the normal mode, as they seem to be a bit of an afterthought on the super mode, seeing as thee armor parts just hang on the side of the lower legs and hang under the lower arms, while it looks more natural on the normal mode. |
Will you show off those Shark and Snake dudes? They look cool!
Great photos, now I kind of want one. He does look surprisingly good with Figuarts guys. |
This is another toy I NEED. ONE DAY! ONE DAY!

http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1450285635 I actually do like to think of myself as somewhat of an amateur expert on more obscure shows like this :lol but I've never been able to find it for sale anywhere. Searched for years for it. I know it isn't large enough to stack up against DX Dodekabutack but I would love to have it represented in some form or fashion in my collection. My quest continues... |
I love this gallery, but its nagging at my memory like I've had this figure before. I have no idea how, outside of some random bootleg I may have had as a child, but I doubt that too.

never seen theses ones before, now I need them

These have impressed me so much I'm going to search out this show. I love how the designs are so out of the ordinary. I love the detail and options for something that came out so long ago.
Eh. The anime look of normal Kabutack doesn't really work for me, but Super Kabutack looks cool enough. The drill thing is awesome though, as drills generally are. The submarine... Looks alright. Pretty nice set overall, just not for me.
These look so much fun. I am going to have to look up this series.
It kind of eminds me of the Digimon evolving toys, cute toys becoming cool warriors is alwasy a nifty idea.
Had these when I was a kid, although they looked much cooler back then.:lol
Oh man Kabutack
Tho I dont own any (YET!), Ive always loved these toys. I like how you can have like supercute in one mode, and superbadass in the other mode Id love to see more Kabutack reviews! |
I'm pretty much a sucker for these cute-robot-to-cool-robot transformations.
This is a really interesting toy line. It'd be nice to get a figure line where you have just accesory sets that fully split apart and become armor, unlike modern Sentai mechs with their limb swapping, and chair sitting, and erupting out from the inside of the mech like a chestburtser.
There is a serious shortage of beetle themed mecha lately, these all look so fun
Pretty cute I must say, insects have always been a kool motif to me.
Damn these look fun I may need to get one or all of them how ever it works out lol
This would make a great super robot chocogin.
Pretty neat toy. I kind of wish it would also have a beetle mode.
A very interesting figure! And man, that's a lot of different armor!
I really like how the armor power ups work in both robot modes. You don't see that very often with that sort of gimmick. Usually, armor power ups for a transforming robot only work in one mode.
I wish he got a Metal Hero Key with everyone, he deserves one
Kabutack's adorable, albeit in a way that kind of creeps me out. Something about the bug-eyed look never grabs me.
Kabutack is just plain cute and bizarre all in one. I do love how you can use the upgrades in both forms.
