just watched that first episode:
LOVE that Alpha still has that badass personality when changed. Especially when he seemed to be choosing who he was going to fight. I totally agree it has that pre-Den-O kiddie feel to it. I'd love more series like this as well. The show is like taking Amazon, add Shin with a dash of Faiz (evil corporation), which is total awesome sauce for me. I am ready for a few figures now... |
Well I had checked the first episode out and it was okay. It definitely looked and had a tone similar to pre Den-O shows.
The characters were bland to me, and I'm sure that they will grow as the series goes on but right now I can't seem to care for most of them. The action is alright. Nothing really to impressive right now and when the guys shoot the guns it seems as though the guns are to powerful and I feel they should tone that down a bit. The suits are pretty good and I like the way they move for the most part even though the bat amazons suit wings look pretty bad. Same with any of these characters with wings. Overall though I enjoyed it and I am sure that as we figure out what happened two years ago the characters get more fleshed because right now the show is "meh". Though I've been kind of burnt out on toku and have not seen Ghost for a while so I'm sure that for people who have been following Ghost see this as really refreshing. I will be sure to check out the next episode where hopefully we get more dimensions to the characters and I get some thing out of them. The music in this show is really cool though, and it fits in with Amazons whole tone. |
Has it been stated if this takes place in the same world as all the other Riders? Because I can easily see it being the case. Though that's just me theorizing. Like, in this case the "Gigi Bracelets" and the Amazon belts are mass-produced tech. The monsters are all called "Amazons". It feels as if the organization that made them tried re-creating the original Amazon's power-source in order to make soldiers similar to him, thus why they're called Amazons.
Obviously if it's already been said that this has no connection, then that all goes right out the window. Still, it's plausible to me. |
Man, this show is actually really, really good IMO. Holy shit episode 2 was amazing. Episode 1 was a little bit slow but it had some world building and setting things up to do, episode 2 really ramps up... everything.
Story-wise it gets interesting now, and I think the way they re-invented Amazon in this one works well. Characters are interesting too. I enjoy the extermination squad and the setup of this episode that one of turn into a wild Amazon. This might be the first adult-oriented Kamen Rider that actually works for me. The First & The Next are garbage, Shin is kinda meh, but this is good so far. Love the designs, Alpha looks really cool, Omega isn't as bad as he looked in the images but still not as good as Alpha, and the other Amazons look interesting too. Action-wise I enjoy it as well. Wire-work is a bit sloppy at times, not terrible but you can make out where they hang from and how they gain the momentum, but the fighting choreography is great. And the gore... I think it works. It's not too much, but it’s not subtle either. If they want to show cracked skulls or people being eaten or ripped apart, they do it. It’s not like with Heisei Riders where killing did happen but they never showed real gore too much because it was aimed at teenagers/kids, but it’s not embarrassingly in your face like it was with The First/Next either. I really enjoy this show so far. Thank god for the Anniversary, Ghost is currently a sleeping pill for me, at best, but this… makes me look forward to seeing more. I hope they can keep this up. |
Episode 2 has been subbed what are everyone's thoughts about it?
|
Loved it. That's all I can say.
Plus I like it more when it focuses on fight choreography than the CGI fest of the TV shows. |
just finished episode 2 two, im glad we got more fouce on Jin. i laughed the that bat monster tryed to fly away and omega was like nope get back down here
|
Second episode was pretty good.
Omega looks kind of silly trying to bite things though. Dude, you ain't got a mouth. But yeah, some cool action and some concrete answers about the backstory of the Amazons. Good episode. |
Where can I watch episode 2 with English subs?

Watched the second episode. Glad some questions were answere, but there are a few more, like were Jin two belts that apparently help control the amazon cells, at least i think that's what they're for. I also liked we got a little more on Jin, how he was pretty much a hunter before all this happened to him. I thought the extermination team had some good bits, I appreciate how their leader reminded them that they didn't sign up to save the world, they wanted the money and if they don't kill their friend they don't eat. Although you could tell he was conflicted too you rarely see that in these types of shows. Speaking of kills holy crap those were violent. Outside of no one punching the snobby business suit guy in the face, not really a nit pick outside of me really wanting somebody to punch him, I say it was a good episode.

I just finished the first two episodes. I have to say, this is probably the first time in many years where I've looked forward to seeing the next episode of a Kamen Rider series.
|
The second episode was great. I love the perfect mix of action and drama. It would amazing if more Showa riders had reboots like this.
|
Finally got time to sit down and watch episode 2. I like a lot of what the show is doing in terms of plot, but I'd like to see some more work done on the characters. I keep losing track of how many members there are on the extermination team and neither Jin nor Haruka are doing much to stand out beyond basic stereotype so far. I'm sure we'll get more as the show goes on, though.
Aside from that, I'm a little disappointed by the fight choreography. I know we're going for just martial arts instead of crazy CGI explosions everywhere, but for a show based on Amazon I expected more savage fight scenes. Alpha vs. Ryuusuke was just a couple dudes kicking each other and even after Omega showed up it didn't get that much more intense, bisecting finishing move aside. I'm not sure how much of that is the camera and how much is the choreography, but I'm a bit underwhelmed on the action so far. |
I got 16 minutes into episode 1 nd it just froze. Maybe something to do with my data.. But I liked what I saw so far. Can't wait to watch the other episodes!!!

Oh my goodness! That Rider Kick got to be most goriest kick I ever see! I think Little Kid wouldn't like this rider kick!
Man, I can't believe writer of ToQger and Kamen Rider Den-O, Yasuko Kobayashi would make Kamen Rider Amazons the bloodiest Kamen Rider show ever! How a writer of ToQger suddenly turn dark?! Oh my god! I want Super Hero Year Project for Super Sentai! Now! |

Just watched the first episode and absolutely adored it! It felt like it took elements of UltraMan and GARO and merged them into Kamen Rider. The story was very intriguing and I enjoyed the characters a lot. I can't wait to see more of both Jin and Haruka. Jin was fun in the little part we saw of him at the end. Haruka was intriguing with him transforming at the end and what was going on with him. I loved Mamoru and seeing him become the Mole Amazon and the whole squad kicking ass in the beginning was pretty cool. The Exterminators are the part that remind me of UltraMan because they are like whatever group help out the UltraMan or sometimes go against the UltraMan. Obviously the horror and ultra-violence are the aspects that remind me of GARO. This was definitely some of the best writing Yasuko Kobayashi has done since OOO; I haven't really enjoyed her latest work of the things I've fully watched. I am probably going to watch the next episode later and hope the third episode gets up soon from Nihon.

Episode 3 has been subbed. Discuss away guys.
|
I would like to see more from Alpha, since now Omega has 3 confirmed kills and the most screen time given out of the two. Plus I'd like to see our stylish red Rider pull of a Violent finisher of his, let us see his twist on things.
The Exterminators I have a weird mix of feeling bad for and slightly rooting for them, while at the same time disliking them because I feel that they're kindness to Mamo is insincere. That or they're feeding him human bits to keep him docile. |
