That was the post I was referencing to. Nothing about it seems to mention the constellations in it until the brief mention of Saint Seiya characters at the bottom.

I described personalities and characteristics from them.

Question is what constellations can be used for them? And what fighting styles?

Red: Pegasus
Blue: Lupus/Wolf
Yellow: Leo Minor
Green: Draco/Dragon
White/Pink: Aquila/Eagle
Violet: Phoenix

The rangers will gain the power of a defeated monster's constellation as their own.

Yeah, this thread is going too much into fanfiction for me. You're designing entire seasons right down to the peoples' personalities and not really speculating. When you do that, sometimes your own ideas become more real to you then what's actually happening. It's part of why I avoid fanfiction in general. Whatever. Enjoy your stories.

Personally I'd rather go down the actual horoscope. With Toei being as predictable as they are red will be a fire sign, blue is water, yellow is air, and green will be earth. Now, below I will list the horoscopes in their elemental groupings.

Fire- Aries, Leo, Sagittarius.
Air- Gemini, Aquarius, Libra.
Water- Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio.
Earth- Taurus, Capricorn, Virgo.

Now, with Toei being as predictable as they are, Red/Fire will most likely be Leo. Anything after that is a guessing game. But I'm sure Green/Earth would be Taurus.

I would like to see a mythology season. So much creativity for zords and not just what they did in Magiranger. There are so many other mythological characters and creatures they could use. Greek and Egyptian would be cool, though Egyptian might end up having an Ohranger look to it. Also Norse and Celtic are also interesting mythologies to dig into. I don't think we'd get a full insect theme because too many parallels and comparisons would be made to Kamen Rider and Metal Heroes.

I don't think Egyptian zords would look too much like Ohranger. The sphinx, maybe, but that's about it, so I think it's fine.

Greek could be pretty neat, too. A Kraken mecha would be cool to see~

They have the 2 birds (Ra and Horus), the 2 cats (Bastet and Sekhmet), and the numerous other animals (Anubis/Jackal, Sobek/Gator, Khepri/Scarab, Set/Anteater (I think), etc).

I feel better for a monster theme to join in and hopefully to be something better than Kiva.

Red for vampire, blue for werewolf, green for gillman, yellow for mummy & pink for catwoman. The sixth ranger can be based on cryptids.

Extra rangers:
- orange - headless horseman/jack'o lantern/dullahan
- violet - witch

And if they had an ally monster, it can be based on Frankenstein.

The villains' minions can be zombies, ghosts or ghouls.

One monster similar to the Kraken in Greek myth is the Cetus, which was slain by Perseus and lends its name for the taxonomic classification of whales (cetaceans). One of the Genjuken retainers in Gekiranger used Cetus-fist.

And earlier in this thread when I said Changeman had a mythology theme and was immediately corrected for it having military theme, I was basing it off of the helmet designs and Ranger names. Should have been obvious.

Anyhow, mythology is rich territory for a possible sentai theme. Greek, Norse, Egyptian, Chinese, or what have you. Dozens of good candidates. I'd like for them to avoid using Japanese folklore and yokai, because it's been done twice in the past 8 years.

Honestly, I don't see why it can't be both military and mythology themed. Since it kinda is.

Red can be Horus. Mecha is hawk.
Blue will be Ptah. Mecha is a statue of a man wearing a cap and Egyptian clothing.
Green is Sobek. Mecha is a crocodile.
Yellow is Bast. Mecha is a cat.
White is Hathor. Mecha is a cow.
Sixth Ranger is Black. He's Anubis and Mecha is a jackal.

Their sensei is named Osiris and he has a secretary named Isis.
A guy named Set is the arch nemesis.


If not Egyptian, I would like to see a food sentai.

Red - meat
Green - veggies
Blue - fruits
Yellow - desserts
Pink - snacks

sixth:
White - rice

There should be a martial arts-theme with constellations in sentai. Like Saint Seiya/Omega.

Two sides will be fighting over the power of the twelve signs of the zodiac through a martial arts tournament.

The rangers & villains will have random constellations and will claim the twelve signs as armor.

The villain side will probably have the four of the six signs already. And if one of them is like Ikki/Phoenix & Eden/Orion, the sixth ranger will be on the enemy's side first and later joins the team.

Near the end, the villain side will join the heroes just like Rio & Mele.

A modern jetman with mechas like the timejets would be awesome.

You specifically said mecha. Not themes, not designs, but mecha, in which Changeman was just another set of military vehicles.

I mentioned a Egyptian theme on my facebook once. I had a similar concept on the mecha however I said that each mech switched out the torso to make a robot equivalent of the god they represent. I to had Set as the bad guy but as a six ranger that is bad but turns good. But that's overdone. Anyway I also said that King Pyramider should be brought back and also include a sarcophagus that summons previous robots and mecha to aid the new team. Also I stated that the helmets should have hieroglyphics as the visors.

If an Egyptian concept, give it a Yu-Gi-Oh! vibe!

I imagine this would clash too much with Kamen Rider. Even when the Riders aren't based on insects, it seems like that's too sacred of a motif for Sentai to use for its main team.

We probably won't see anything military or tech heavy for a while, that stuff doesn't do great with Japanese kids in the last couple of years. Personally, I would love it if Sentai tried out a musical motif. Kyoryuger sort of came close but music was more of a theme there than a motif of the suits and toys. I'd like to see a full on musical Sentai.

Granted, the only problem here is that both times Toei and Bandai have tried musical motifs before (Kamen Rider Hibiki and Suite PreCure) the shows really under performed. Maybe third time's the charm?

And if they do another animal theme, how about something like OOO?

Yellow - felines (lion/liger, tiger/panther, cheetah)
Green - strong animals (rhino, bear/gorilla, elephant)
Blue - aquatic creatures (shark/orca, eel, dolphin/octopus)
Pink - canines (wolf, fox, coyote)

- Violet - extinct beasts (sabertoothed tiger, mammoth, doedicurus)
- arachnids (spider/black widow, scorpion)

They're doing an animal theme right now though. They aren't going to instantly follow it up with another.

AND it's even a OOOs-esque multiple-animals-per-sentai-member theme! :lol

Yeah, I don't see Toei going back to this well for quite a while after Zyuohger.


In general, I'm not quite sure what to make of these poll suggestions. It seems like they're all, "Sentai should do this theme because Kamen Rider did it one time." Frankly, I'd prefer Sentai do something totally new and not mimic the success (or lack thereof) of Kamen Rider.

Just a thought for this animal theme later on. But the monster theme can be next!

Shit, I mention elsewhere in this thread that I wanted a video game-themed Sentai, but it looks like that's the next Kamen Rider. Whoops.

They could be like Galaxy rangers/Saber rider cartoon.

I would like a season wherein rangers center around emotions. Like Green Lantern. They increase their powers when they portray their color's emotion.

Good guys:
1. Red - Courage. - His power is hardest to accumulate because he only increases his power in life-threatening situation.
2. Blue - Hope - yet another power difficult to accumulate since he only gets stronger when the situation is helpless. Though he grows much faster than everyone else if the situation does happen.
3. Yellow - Compassion - easy as pie. She only needs to be nice to everyone else.
4. Green - Will - His power is somewhat difficult because he needs to bring out that willpower which is only possible when he really needs to.
5. White - Purity - she can turn every negative or positive emotion into neutral state. She can also cleanse illness. She's basically the anti of everyone. Unlike everyone else she does not need to purify to increase her power. She's already experienced as it is. Though her powers are limited. Too much curing would weaken her.

Villains
1. Black - Death - He can cast instant death on anyone provided the casting time which requires a significant amount of time. He can also raise the dead. He is immune to any of White's powers.
2. Cyan - Sorrow - She can cause her opponents to be radically depressed. All her opponents' insecurities will come out and this makes her stronger.
3. Orange - Wrath - He can bring out your worst emotion. The angrier people are, the stronger he gets.
4. Purple - Fear - Just as the name says. He can cause fear to anyone. People who are afraid of him increases his power.
5. Pink - Envy - Primarily, the rival of Yellow and White. She can cause everyone to be jealous. She can turn friends into enemies. Jealous comrades makes her stronger.

Might be a little simplistic considering Sentai already kind of does this in addition to having themes/motifs. (Generally red = fiery/willful, blue = cool, green/black = cocky or childish, yellow = level headed, pink/white = effervescent/girly).

Comparison to the Green Lantern emotional spectrum is a little bit like what does Zyurangers did. They're the six warriors of love, hope, courage, knowledge, power, and justice.

What about a plants-theme?

Core Rangers:

Red - Hibiscus

Blue - Blueberry

Yellow - Sunflower

Green - Cactus

Black - Ebony

Sixth Ranger:

Brown - Coffee

Mentor Ranger:

White - Dandelion

Evil Rangers:

Crimson - Rafflesia

Light Green - Carnivorous Plant

Purple/White - Lotus

Or a Warriors-Based

Core Rangers:

Red - Samurai

Blue - Viking

Yellow - Cowboy

Green - Archer

White - Monk

Sixth Ranger:

Silver - Knight

I don't think a plant theme can work. Not much mileage you can get while trying to balance the line of silly and cool.
