I don't like it. Lacks colors to really pop, the scale mesh looks bad, and I hate the giant screen instead of a face.

To be fair, that's technically what all Megazords are. This one seems to be going a little more literal on that though, for better or worse.

Looking at all the pictures again, this thing is doing all the things that the original MMPR Movie Ninja Megazord did wrong. You'd think they would have learned.

Generic doesn't necessarily mean bad automatically.

Also, it has a bit of a knight-like quality to it, which is an interesting take and one I don't really think we've had from the franchise yet, at least not that I can think of.

it looks like giant master chief from halo with pr suit parts just added on, that design is just lazy, it looks nothing like a robot.

But if it wasn't associated to the original design in any way, I'd say it's not bad.

Going to say that I like the Pteranodon forming the head at least.

Eeeeeeeeeeh, not digging this suit in any way. My bro compared it more to a Battlizer, which it does sorta look like. I wish that they had put a lot more thought into it, 'cuz it looks like it's trying to be a Jaeger, a Transformer, and god knows what else into one. Like, I'm still gonna see the movie either way, but this is not that great.

The new Megazord design look like Goldar for me....

Hmm....let see:

- The head has pink color on right and left side
- The two shoulders has red color
- The body mostly has black color
- The yellow color on the stomatch
- The blue color on the foots

The suit remind me to ninja suit and the helmet remind me to Silver Crow from Accel World....

From the official announcement pic, this kinda looks like an evangelion robot...but its just ... i prefer the "DX" expensive af version because at least that looked like a combined robot. But the whole designes look like something out of deviant art. Not saying concept arts from deviant art arent bad because there are some good ones out there but this just shouldve stayed a concept. Maybe ill warm up to it??

I think the main idea here was to make it as UN-Transformer as possible. Should have had a face - those feet are fucking terrible and mesh armor whatever is just lame-ass generic Hollywood Superhero bullshit. Kids are gonna love it, though!

According to the other photo, Yellow is the waist/stomach area, and possibly upper legs while Mastodon and Triceratops are the legs.

And we now know what those holes are on the sides of the T-Rexs legs and why they're so large, because they're the MZ arms.

Having seen images of the combining toy, that looks better. I'm not sure where the need to carry over the Iron Man reactor core from the suits came from but I think if it had a nice mouthplate it would look much better.

Well, understand that paying for something you profess to not like does nothing to discourage producers from continuing to do those things you consider wrong. Because they got your money, which was the ultimate goal, right? You paid for it so, hey, you must have liked it because, who pays for things they don't like? It's like the comic nerd who melts down over some death or event or whatever, then buys two copies of the offending issue - one to read and one for "the collection" - then just can't believe it when DC or Marvel continues to kill off more characters or do stupid events. You see what I'm sayin'?

Listen, it's a reboot, and one that wantsays to look different then the source material. Did Bayformers look like G1? No. Nothing will ever look the same in a reboot, and that'she all I'll say. If you don't like it, ok. Just don't complain when it runs out of stock and you actually wanted it.

You say it's ok, but somehow you feel the need to lash out at people who don't fall on their knees to praise this mighty plastic icon. This being bad has nothing to do with it not looking like the original design as you seem convinced it does. It's bad because it's one hell of an ugly toy. Period. As for stock running out, I'm not going to worry about it. If these things don't flood the market, I'll eat my hat. But I wouldn't buy this sucker with your money. Or, most likely, your Mom's, given the whole butthurt thing.

Bayformers didn't reboot G1, though. It was just yet another iteration of Transformers. It referenced G1, but it was a new premise with a new cast of characters.

And people still hated it.

This movie harkens exclusively back to MMPR, with the same characters. It is a reboot of a specific iteration of Power Rangers, which has until now never rebooted.

Then what's the Goddamned point?

If your reboot borders on unrecognizable, why even make it a reboot? Why not just make this an entirely new movie, and drop the PR aspects it clearly wants to ignore anyhow.

This makes no sense.

This movie being a reboot is secondary to it looking like absolute crap. Plenty of reboots have been good. The deviations from the source material aren't critcized merely for being deviations, but because they totally miss the point. They're only compared to the original in how the original did get the point.

I'm not allowing that to ruin what I think could be a good movie. Sure he as flaws but what the hell. It's not changing my opinion until I actually see the movie.
