Anyway, I personally would check to see the size difference. The talking Celestia (The one getting the white repaint), for example, is easily over twice the size of the normal brushable ponies.

Went to AM2Con this past weekend, got Dissidia Final Fantasy Pony pins (I got Cloud, Squall, and Sephiroth) an 8-bitish Rarity thing made out of beads, a Twilight Sparkle mini print, which I got autographed by Tara Strong, speaking of Tara Strong, I bought a Twilightlicious bracelet from her, which she also autographed, and the Equestria LA people here handing out Elements of Harmony pins, I got Magic and Loyalty, I also got a "My Little Bunny Frienship is Pain" mini art print, and on the back it shows Barnaby holding Kotetsu, and it says "Best Team Ever", and my most expensive purchase...a Fluttershy plushie that has a squeaker in it

I really dislike the show simply because I've seen a lot of the darker fanbase flood YouTube and other sites with Pony images as well as their need to play the "Why doesn't anyone respect my views" card even though they force people to watch the show and "join the herd" Also I dislike the blind worship this series gets just because Lauren Faust was part of the creative team as well as the fondness some of the more obsessed fans have in insulting anything that is not to do with MLP. I tried to watch a few episodes but I could not do it.

I'm sorry if I upset anyone but I cannot like a series that drives some people into a fanatical zeal and drive them to strongarm people into liking it without consideration for their feelings.

Look at any and, literally, every fandom. Ever.
Honestly. I feel no need to give an example because every fandom has them. The only difference is that MLP is the most popular of them.

Your generalization can be applied to any other series with a fanbase behind it. Just because ponies are more prevalent doesn't make them the only ones to do that.

Also, you're basing your opinion on a show based on the actions of the fans. Don't take this on an insult, but that's a stupid thing to do. It's one thing to not like a show because you think it's not a good show. It's another to not like a show because you don't want to like it.

I understand that every fandom has its darkside but I've argued with a lot of bad MLP fans over at YouTube with my galvatronic2 account. It's not that I think it's a bad show, it's just that all the Pony items that pop up frequency as well as some of the things I've read the fans write, IE "All other cartoons are terrible", "If you don't like it you're sexist" that sort of things grinds my gears. I like a lot of things that are consided girly like the PreCure series, Sailor Moon and Winkx, but I cannot find common ground with this series no matter how hard I try. I bear no ill will towards the fans who respect the feelings of others, it's just that I feel smothered by the ruder fans.

Look I understand that Lauren wants to get rid of the sexist stereotypes reguarding televison and I respect that she's trying her best, but my encounters with the darker side of the MLP fanbase have left a sour taste in my mouth.

I've always thought of myself as a tolerate person and pushy fans have never pushed my buttons quite like this before. I guess I'll never be a fan of this series and I'm OK with that. I just don't want to viewed as a outsider because I have had bad experiences with bad fans.

Also no offense but I watched a few episodes and I was kinda bored plus I couldn't really find a character to identify with. It's just not my cup of tea.

Like most of the KR and Sentai fans here, give it time.
It took me 18 episodes to even remotely begin enjoying it, my friend 7, another took 23. However, no show is for everyone, so I'm not pushing it.

I've argued with Sentai fans who have never seen the Sentai they're arguing about just to make Power Rangers seem like a stupid kids show (How did I know the guy had no knowledge? He couldn't name the Magna Defender's Japanese name in Gingaman, but was just yelling and screaming over how PR is a bastardization and blah blah), but that didn't make me denounce Sentai just because of some bad apples.

I'm not going to push it though, because I hate it when my friend pushes anime on me, nor can I ask you to give it another chance if you've watched it and didn't like it (Though I will say that the first 6 episodes, the first 2 moreso, aren't very good...).

Galvantula, there are a few things to consider about pony fans in general. First of all, the fandom is huge. Thus, you would find a larger number of bad apples. Second, and perhaps more importantly, pony fans have a severe persecuted mentality and become a touch too sensitive about supposed attacks against their show. Third, there are many overzealous pony fans that tend to be rather narrow-minded in their views. They impose such narrow-mindedness even on us fans, arguing against and hating certain things really vocally. Finally, there are many trolls in the pony fandom that irritate even us fans.

I'm sorry you had to experience the idiocy of some fans on Youtube. The Youtube comments section is really the cesspool of the worst aspects of any fandom. If I were to judge based on Youtube commenters, Super Sentai fans would be Sentai-only purists who seem out to proselytize Power Rangers fans, Kamen Rider fans would be kids who want to look more mature than they are, Star Wars fans are narrow-minded and who have never watched beyond Return of the Jedi or The Phantom Menace, comic book fans want 100% comic faithfulness when adapting movies and can never be satisfied, etc.

You would have to find a level-headed website of dedicated fans to see that many pony fans really do try to embody their love and tolerate mantra. Like Matrixbeast said, even Toku fans can be insane, but places like Tokunation prove there are many good apples along with the bad.

That said, however, I won't be strong-arming you to watch it of course. It is my opinion, though, that the first few episodes haven't really kicked things off yet. Still, I do realize liking ponies is still a rather niche thing.

Glad to hear that guys. I may never watch the show but it's nice to have level heads to talk to. It's been a long time since I was on a forum so I'm ruster than I realise. I'm sorry about lashing out the show. Hopefully this won't happen again.

I really do love Derpy, she's really held a special place for me since the fandom moulded her some time ago. I guess fans just saw their identities threatened by what happened to Derpy and they might have overreacted like bronies usually do. However, I do understand how they feel, I was rather disappointed with the whole issue too.
