Oh I know. It's just the closest thing I have to a Hongo figure until that Figuart actually gets released.

I wished they explained how he got this suit design from the movie.

Another one of those designs where I want to buy the toy without having seen the film. I'm looking forward to seeing the look in action as I slowly make my way through the Kamen Rider series.

I really like the design, and the figure makes it look even better. I originally thought it was a bit too bulky, but its grown on me.

I got this figuart but I kind of regret getting it I didn't like it that much it just did not impress me.

Now that I know a 2.0 Kamen Rider 1 is coming that figuart looks so much better.

The need is real!

I...have mixed feelings on this. Admittedly at lot of that just has to do with the origins of the design rather than the figure itself. It's not bad and I can appreciate the execution of an updated design, not to mention the appeal. But this really only works for Ichigo as an individual, he'll stick out like a sore thumb next to the other 6 Legendary Riders, especially Nigo. It's partly why the figure doesn't appeal to me that much.

Not gonna lie. I'm still not a fan of the design. I do much prefer Shin Ichigou when I think of Hongo. While it does fit the character, since he's had 3 (4?) prior suits, so a new one isn't really blasphemous or anything, I just can't fully support it.

That said, I have softened up on it (Though I don't like the abs).
It looks nice as a figuart, and it doesn't look like Zyuoh Gorilla next to the other Ichigou's, which is great. I'm glad the articulation isn't too restricted, though I never really assumed it would be (If they could make Broly fully articulated, this design should be a piece of cake :lol).
The belt covers also caught me off guard. I honestly would've never realized they were a thing if you didn't point it out. I guess it's the small details like that that really make these figures something special.
...That and the great articulation and quality :p

While I wouldn't shed a tear if Ichigou returns to his Shin suit in his next appearance, I'm not as pissy over this design.

I've always been kind of conflicted over this figure. On one hand, I kind of like the look and proportions and whatnot here better than the suit in the actual movie. On the other hand though, I probably would have wanted it to be more screen accurate regardless. Ah well.

I love the vivid colors the figure has and how acurate it is to the real thing! Haven't watched the movie he's in but I remember liking everything about him from the scans and promotional photos.

I would have appreciated it if it had been a lot chunkier but I really don't mind the proportions. My frustration is the nearly nonexistent detail paint. The gloves and boots look super plastic-y.

Tbh I've never been a fan of the original design so I find this a really good update for it. It looks modern but it still have the essence of the original (?). I haven't seen the movie yet tho. I started with Kamen Rider very recently with Gaim, which I never finished watching cuz I got bored lol but I watched Drive and Ghost and I'm currently watching and loving Ex-Aid. I'm becoming more and more interested on Kamen Rider each day so visiting it origins would be a great thing to do.

Still not a fan of the extra bulk, but the figure does look nice.

My toku-watching friend and I haven't yet gotten up the courage to watch the movie. The Ghost trauma is still fresh in our minds.

I'm glad they slimmed the design down, but wow, from the comments here, it looks like that was a divisive choice! I'm impressed that they properly engineered him to execute his signature pose. I wish certain other Figuarts had been given as much forethought.

I liked this gallery, and the group shots at the end, as usual, steal the show.

Ichigo is badass! I still need to finish his series

Okay, the design does nothing for me on screen, but seeing more pictures of this figure are making me want it.

I've always seen this look as sort of like the big bulky Dark Knight Returns Batman. Old guy, still fighting, etc. Not quite my thing but it sort of "makes sense."

So I've got the original Cyclone that I bought from my local shop cause it was a great deal, but never had a Kamen Rider 1 to go along with it. I now REALLY wanna get this version. I love the bulky look, but also he has a sort of grizzled veteran vibe going for him.

I hate to say it, but I think I prefer "The First/The Next." It's not a bad design but very bulky, and I never thought of Ichigo as a bruiser. The figure itself is just fine, though. In fact it's a bit better than the actual suit.

Still haven't watched this movie. Mostly because of how bulky he looks in it. Seeing the figure though kinda makes me want it!

Not really a Kamen rider fan, so I had to look up the movie suit to see what people were talking about. I definitely prefer the bulkier look for this suit, and the added black makes it a bit more defined than the original version.

It's less about making him a bruiser, and more about making it more convincingly look like there's a 70 year old man in that suit. He needs the extra padding.

Cool figure. I am not very familiar with this series, at least not from that era. Does that small circle between his eyes serve a functional purpose?

I don't think so. Knowing Toei, there's a chance it has some name on heir website, given their love for naming everything on a rider's suit, but it doesn't actally do anything, other than look cool

I do think to remember that some Riders used this as some kind of third eye back during the Showa era but nowadays it's just a cosmetic touch that almost every Rider has.

Always do enjoy seeing a new take on a classic design, and they really did knock it out of the park with this one. The figure isn't exactly a perfect match, and I honestly don't think there was any real reason they couldn't get the bulk to do so, but I digress.

Ichigo is an iconic design, and it is hard to really top the original, glad they were able to homage it so well while giving a unique feel to the new one.

Maybe because it's slimmer? Maybe it's just me, I don't like the green moth plate and would prefer it to be sliver.

this design has really grown on me since it's reveal, I adore the red on black on green color scheme and the design while bulky is nice.

Be careful of what you say, remember that Grandpa is still the all powerful and mighty Segata Sanshiro. So watch out Split Lip or he will split you with a Sega Genisis.

The figuarts lines really didn't need another Rider 1. That said, he was the best part of that movie.

My biggest love is for the helmet designs. This evokes all the right Heisei era angles and curves for that. Great pics!

Any chance Beast Wars Waspinator is an homage to this style?
